I’m rating this as a cardroom, not a restaurant. The food is ok but don’t come here to eat, come here if you want to play poker. They have decent games, good dealers and reasonable food plus a free $ 7 food comp. I like that they have a nice variety of games(Holdem, Omaha 8, stud, Pan). Also for the casual players they have a lot of promotions that can be fun to try and hit.

I don’t play poker, but his is one of the few places near my home that I can hang out at different times of the day to watch a game, drink a beer and get a meal. The Hideaway is deceivingly good on the inside. After a few visits I found the food to be very reasonable and satisfactory. They have internet and the service is really really friendly and efficient. You may meet some interesting people while you are there!

Very nice poker room that includes a bar with good food and above-average service. Friendly employees and the place is clean with convenient parking. I’m not wild about much along Aurora Ave., nor going there, but The Hideaway is an all-around nice place to play my favorite game with a decent group of friendly regulars. Some would say their tournament structure could be a little better and the blinds DO move along at a good clip. But I recently took a first-place finish in their Saturday night event, so I’m not complaining!

So, I work late nights, either that or I stay up late on nights I don’t work. So I frequently order(ordered) from here, since Asian food is the shiznit. The food used to be fantastic, about a year ago. It was plentiful, cheap, just call it in and go! But they changed chefs, owners, something and then the food became just as cheap, small portions and overly salty. But recently? I called in at about 10pm, I was craving the Chinese food and I didn’t care how salty and bad the food was, it was the only thing open right? Well, I called, they put me on hold since I was making a to-go order. About ten minutes later the same person came on the line and told me the restaurant DIDN’T TAKETOGOORDERSAFTER10! I was astonished. Of course, I laughed it off, said thanks anyways, and hung up. I wasn’t asking for delivery, just to make my order so I wouldn’t have to sit in their lobby for twenty minutes. So much for being the late night Chinese place.

Greetings Folks, Up here in beautiful Seattle again… as a UW Dawg alumnus… my old stomping grounds. Had the poker itch… and found the great reviews for the Hideaway Cardroom, which offers poker tournaments and cash games. Well-deserved reviews… professionally run, knowledgeable and friendly dealers, upbeat and accomodating ambience… nice HDTVs to watch the French Open… and great selection of microbrews for $ 2.50! Even though I didn’t eat here, given the glowing food reviews… what’s not to like! I give this place a lot of love… will definitely play here my next trip, rather than wasting time and gas driving up to the surrounding Indian casinos, which aren’t bad either, especially Snoqualmie Casino and their very nice poker room. …but if you are in Seattle and want to play poker in a nice, friendly, clean and smoke-free place… with excellent cheap beer and food… there really is no choice IMHO! ;} .

Late work shifts suck balls. Late work shifts where you get home hungry and exhausted and with a foodless kitchen sucks even worse. So when 10:30 came around and I was hungry enough to start gnawing off my own arm, but too exhausted to lift said arm I grabbed my keys and walked down the shady Aurora Ave in search for ANYTHING that was open and willing to deliver food straight to my face. The Hideaway would not be my first choice, but I’m glad I gave it a chance. I walked in with the boyfriend and we sat ourselves promptly. There’s a dining area that’s separate but pretty close to the card area, so we sat and watched the two games that were going on. The bartender/server was awesome. I mean that seriously. He kept my water glass filled, acted like it was not a big deal at all for two starving tired-to-talk people to order food at 11PM at night. He was great with casual conversation, quick and brisk at getting our order in and our food out and awesome about keeping the beer flowing. SERIOUS props to him for keeping me from eating a card table. The food was a lot better than I was expecting — especially from a card room. My hashbrowns were cooked to freaking perfection and my breakfast burrito was stuffed full of egg, cheese, and veggie goodness(they did not skimp on the jalapenos!) I don’t know what took me so long to try my hand at the Hideaway, but I know for certain I’m going to be back soon. Maybe I’ll even try my hand at some poker.

Good Bar food, not spectacular, but the same stuff you get everywhere else except it’s done right. Service was good, but bartender only(he did serve the table). Atmosphere is OK if you don’t mind the card room noise.

Nice, friendly dealers, delicious food served quickly, and an interesting* mix of friendly players. Well run daily tournies, and feels like the brick and mortar, straight up card room that it is. * By «interesting» I reference the mid-20s bro dude who came in half way through the tournament, went all-in on his first hand, then mumbled to himself, and only himself, for about 30 min. And I quote: «Stole my laptop, lost my cell phone, why doesn’t she love me… motha f*ckin’ pizza… I like the look of jokers in a deck… need a laser disk player». Does that mean he stole the laptop from himself? Shuffle up and deal. Then experience the degenerate, divergent and delightful Hideaway.

One of the best card rooms in the Seattle area. They do have excellent breakfast and great Chinese food!

Was looking for some late night food that was reasonably priced and wasn’t a fast food joint. Found this place kinda near my apartment and thought we’d give it a shot. Was impressed by the amount of food they were still serving at 1 am and the fact that almost everything was $ 5. I just got a cobb salad and the person I was with, just some chicken strips and curly fries. That being said I don’t think I can offer a huge review on the food, as it’s pretty much standard no matter where you go. The service on the other hand… definitely disappointed. I am very tolerant when it comes to the service I get, mostly because I am a waitress and understand that things happen, but also because I’m young and I feel like I get bad service all the time anyway. This was pretty bad though. I am very much against flagging down a waitress from across the room, because I hate when people do it to me but there was literally no way to get this womans’ attention! She gave us our waters quick, and then didn’t come back to the table for probably 20 minutes to take our order. Then after she dropped the food off she never came back again. The person I was with wanted ranch and I finally had to go up to the bar and ask for it. Then I actually ended up having to go to the bar to ask to close out my tab too because we had been sitting there for 15 minutes with our plates cleared off and stacked on top of each other. All in all the food was decent, and for late night food it doesn’t have a lot of competition in the area, and even though the service was terrible I understand that everyone has their off nights and maybe it was just a fluke. I would be willing to try it again as I am with most places.

Got the munchies after a long evening of partying? Here’s your dream diner. After a frustrating search for a late night greasy spoon that serves breakfast, I stumbled upon this little gem after an evening out with friends. Every entrée on the menu is only $ 5. You really can’t beat that with a stick, and it’s remarkably delicious. The skillet of eggs, potatoes, assorted veggies and cheese will certainly hit the spot. All the side dishes are only a dollar. The priciest item on the menu is a 9 dollar steak. Dang! The only drawback is the overly lit dining room with it’s abundance of neon, and it felt like we had been transported to Reno or some other bastard cousin of Vegas. The place is family friendly so bring the kids along while mom and dad get drunk and spend the college fund playing cards.

If you’re looking for a great place to play poker and eat a good meal, you don’t have to look any further! The Hideaway has it all with a great staff to take care of you!

I’ve played, ate, & drank frequently here & it is without a doubt one of the best establishments of it’s kind. The staff is excellent & do all they can to make your visit an enjoyable one.

There are many breakfast places around but this places trumps them all in the place that counts: the food. My son had the buttermilk pancakes. 4 pancakes midsized, 3 eggs scrambled, and 4 good thick but not too thick pieces of bacon. It’s a mini casino but the eating area is separated from where they play poker. Bring your kids they are nice folk and the breakfast is awesome.

Worst service I’ve had in a few years. And I give leanance, since I’m a sever/bartender as well. Our order was put in wrong even though he wrote everything down. Getting a drink was like pulling teeth… I think the only person I would recommend this place to would be an enemy. I say this cause not only was the service terrible but the food was inedible and way over priced. I will never come back this place is called the hideaway cause all should stay away!

In a former life I played a lot of poker… really. In SF to supplement Unilocaling $$ in grad school, I played a bit of poker, but since moving back up to Seattle my card playing has lessened quite a bit. With Mrs T out of town, I took the opportunity to check out the Hideaway. This was the friendliest card room I’ve ever played in. I know, when you think card room off of Aurora Ave, you think, smoky, shady characters betting their welfare checks away and a toothless hooker at the bar waiting for some down on his luck sucker to occupy a seedy motel. On the contrary, the Hideway was clean, the players were welcoming, and the staff was friendly to all comers, from beginners to seasoned card players(I’m somewhere in between). The space is small with only 7 or so tables and it felt like the majority of the clientele played in tournaments. The only games that were running were $ 2-$ 40 spread limit, but the manager said that they occasionally run a 4 – 8 and 8 – 16. The staff really takes the time to get to know their regulars and the place had a feel of like Cheers(where everybody knows your name…) and everyone wants to take your money… in a friendly way. If you’re a curious observer or seasoned veteran, the Hideaway is a nice find up on 145th and Aurora.

Friendly, clean, and fun. The waitstaff, managers, and dealers are all very friendly and helpful. It’s a great place for both newbies and more seasoned folks to try to get lucky. The food is surprisingly good in my experience and drinks are tasty, plentiful, and inexpensive. Here, the name of the game is Hold’em poker — they have at least one cash game going most of the time. Usually they offer $ 3-$ 6 limit(sometimes with a kill), $ 2-$ 12 spread limit(which means you can bet anywhere from $ 2-$ 12), and less frequently offer $ 2-$ 20 and $ 2-$ 40 spread(they used to always spread $ 2-$ 40 but are now under new management and are more focused on lower limits). Once a week or so they offer a scheduled $ 2-$ 20 Omaha Hi game. They also have at least 2 no-limit tournaments a day($ 40-$ 60 buy-in), usually @ 11 am &7 pm. These are run very well and are highly recommended. Patrons of many types play here, so you will likely feel right at home. In fact, playing here reminds me of a home game with professional dealers, comfortable chairs & tables, and a full bar. They also have several big screen HDTV’s(usually showing sports in HD) as well as pull-tabs for non-poker gambling. Give it a try!
