I had a bad experience in the past with lack of authorization and higher bill than expected. Due to changes in circumstances, I decided to try them again. My fridge was not cooling sufficiently so in Jan they diagnosed the problem and put a new circuit board and a thermistor. They told me to take it out and depending on how it performed they could adjust it for free. We didn’t go out until Memorial Day weekend and after $ 400 in repairs the temp in the fridge was 46 rather than41(temp that caused me to repair it). I called in to get a time for the adjustment and reminded them that I was told that it would not cost. The owner was nasty to me and told me that he would not say anything was free. I brought it in anyway to get it minor lay adjusted. Now they tell me that I need a new fridge because the coolant unit was out. They told me that it wasn’t their misdiagnosis but that I blew out the unit because I was not leveling the unit from the freezer when running it. They also charged me $ 50 to diagnosis this problem which should have been their initial diagnosis. I think the difference in temp was due to ambulance outside temps. When I told this to the Camping World tech about the leveling, they could not believe how ridiculous this was. So I was out about almost half of the cost of the replacement refridge at camping world. Listen to the feedback and stay away.

I took my van there to see if they could get the furnace working. They charged me $ 90 to remove the furnace and tell me that it was rusted and was garbage. 1.5 hours of labor. I picked up a used furnace and couldn’t get it running so I brought it to them and told them that it was bought used and asked if they could just look at it and see they could get it to run or if it was worth repairing. They called me at the end of the day and told me, «Your furnace is ready.» I asked, «What do you mean ready? What did it take?» They told me that they put a new circuit board into it as well as a new blower motor. $ 350! So now I’ve got $ 440, plus the $ 80 that I paid for the used furnace that didn’t have a front or outer grill. Another $ 90 from them for the outer vent piece. Now I’m $ 600 into a 30 year old furnace that I could have bought a new model for $ 450. If they had just checked out the unit like I asked them to and called me with the $ 350 cost, I could have returned it to the seller as a dead unit and got my $ 80 back.
And they also talk down to you, similar to the shop up stairs. Not quite as bad but they’ll still make you feel as though you’re just annoying them.

Having read the only Unilocal review from last year, I’m taking the time to relate my experience which is very similar. Everyone in service seems to hate their job, however, they do indeed seem competent as they did ultimately get my issue resolved, minus forgetting to secure down my fuse box cover and that hose thingy that hooks to the battery, and, moreover, minus the fact that they make it seem as if you will receive a call with estimate before working (as I requested and gal in office highlighted on work order). The call I received after the work was done was coupled with apologies for the oversight regarding the lack of a call and a verbal description of the time it took him and approximate cost of the parts, but the final bill was a bit more than it sounded like it was going to be. I will be looking for a different service department next time for sure. Last note on professionalism– when paying the bill, there was talk among the employees about someone calling the police regarding someone (had the impression it was in reference to someone who worked there or used to)…drama.
