THISPLACEISAWESOME!!! So incredibly attentive and hospitable; I approached the hostess stand with my husband, best friend and brother for a mini-impromptu bday celebration and they apologized for the brief wait but directed u to the bar for what I thought was a single free bday libation. To my surprise my whole party enjoyed a free bday round! So cool. Then we were seated about 10min later, the tunes were decent, food pretty tasty(although they were out a few items) waitress was very pretty and attentive. I apologized that my phone died before I could show my 15 percent off coupon(from Unilocal;) and they gave it to me anyway. My only complaint and it’s not even a negative but the state of the art monitors showing a continuous loop of VS lingerie fashion shows while I’m chewing down on late night guilty pleasures left me feeling… well…very guilty! Guess they have to appease the male patrons though– my bro and hubby had no problem with it;) all in all, the hookah was fresh and very good quality, the ambience and crowd was mixed and attractive, I lived in that exact part of town for double digit years and abhor the fact that it did not exist while I lived across the street:(Great place, can’t wait to return and get a good chill hookah cloud goin; especially when they started playing Dr. Dre’s Chronic album towards the end of the eve!!!

Decided to give this spot another chance(not by choice to be honest) however it wasn’t that bad. We only ordered hookah with couple of beers each and hookah was really good; however we ordered Lavoo(glass) hookah so I guess it better be good for that $$$. Service was better then before.

This place is pretty bomb! I love the atmosphere. Staff was pretty helpful. Hookahs and tobacco had great clouds and smoked one bowl for a long time. A little expensive but doesn’t break the bank. But every dollar is well spent. Plus they have beer!

This place is usually a hit or miss. There are nights that the service and hookah have been great, and nights where we need to make it a group effort to get the attention of the waitress. The food is good considering that it’s a hookah lounge. Glass hookahs are usually packed well and they hit right for a good amount of time. Do not order any hard liquor or cocktails because all drinks are wine based and overpriced. Stick to beer here! Seating is also pretty uncomfortable, but the aura of the place is nice. Lighting is perfect and music is usually good… which keeps me coming back.

The place itself is well decorated, great atmosphere, I liked the music, but my service was so awful it ruined the whole experience. I am not one to complain but our server Vanessa was an absolute bitch. I don’t think I saw her smile the whole night. She never came to check on us to see how we were doing and the service was slow. I’m not sure if something was wrong with their soda machine and kegs but the beers were slightly warm and the soda was flat. I might go back, and just cross my fingers I get another server.

I’ve been to hookah lounges in New York City, Chicago, San Diego, Orange County, and several hookah lounges in Los Angeles. This place is offers a moderate to above-average hookah experience. The service was very friendly and attentive but I went with friends during Sunday evening and I don’t think the place was too busy on a Sunday evening. The prices are generally higher here than you’ll find elsewhere. The décor and ambience in this place are both pretty good. The quality of the food here is also fairly good. In terms of price, you can find a better value at other hookah lounges in Los Angeles. The seating(suede booths) is also not really comfortable. The reason this place is getting three stars instead of four or five stars is because of the price factor.

I’ve avoided this place for a couple years due to all the bad reviews. The other night we drove by and decided to just go for it. I walked in knowing it would be pricier than most hookah lounges, so that part didn’t offend me. –PRICING/DRINKS: We came during happy hour so they offered 2 for 1 drinks. The regular hookah is $ 25 and the glass model is $ 100 but they offered it for $ 50 when we came.(Still too pricey in my opinion) I saw a lot of people around us went for it. We did a melon, peach mint blend that was really nice. One thing to be aware of is they do not offer quality liquor, so I strongly advise you to stick with beer/wine/champagne. Drink prices are fair enough. –ATMOSPHERE/SERVICE: As everyone has mentioned, the décor is lovely. Great lighting and interesting interior. Def a cool date spot. The service was great and we never felt like we weren’t getting what we needed. I actually thought the service was better here than many other hookah bars in the area. No attitude, all smiles and very polite. I like this place and will be back again although it is a bit pricey compared to nearby locations.

One of the most gorgeous hookah lounges I know of. Looks like a Vegas hotel! But it’s not all it’s worked up to be because the hookah is just alright. Even the lavoo hookahs aren’t too great. But ambiance and music are usually great

Came here for my sisters birthday. We were only of the only tables seated outside. DJ and music were playing inside, when we asked the waiter to keep one of the doors open to hear the music he said he couldn’t do that, and they couldn’t play the music on the patio. Ummm ok lame. Our waiter was also HORRIBLY slow. He left us for long periods of time without checking in — groups over 10 should be checked on a bit more frequently. One of the guests had to repeatedly(at least 4 times) ask for her a drink she had ordered and he kept saying he would bring it. $ 5 for tea or water? Come on! That is a total rip off and you know it. I didn’t try any of their food, I am sure it would have taken ages for it to come out, but the service is really unimpressive and a turn off.

Really nice place! Iused to go next door to Señor Fred’s or what not and never came in, but the other night some friends invited me and I went. Nice décor, good ambiance, and a live DJ who was doing a hell of a job!!! Hookah tasted good, although it needed to be cleaned a couple of times, but overall it’s a good place as in the valley there are not too many to go to late at night. Perfect place after a night out to chill and just relax. I just wisht the table would not be so close to the couch as it is hard to fit even for a regular person like myself.

Me and my boyfriend live very close and have always wanted to check this place out, so we did for the first time last night. WEARENEVERGOINGBACK! The place has a beautiful and modern looking setting but their service was absolutely terrible. The lady who was working last night had a horrible attitude and was extremely rude. I work in customer service and realize how important this is. It’s a shame because I liked everything about this place BUT that. On top of all of that it was almost impossible to order a drink because never once did someone come check on us let alone ask if we needed anything.

I think the best part of this place is the décor and the fact that it’s in the Valley. Let me start by saying they are waaaayyy over priced. The food & drink selection is not that great. Their seating is not that comfortable. But most of all, the service is horrible. It took us 30 minutes to get our hookah. When we finally got it, it was clogged or something was up with it, so we complained to the girls that was«helping us». She didn’t apologize. All she did was say«I’ll be right back». She came back 20min. later with another and almost made us feel like she did us the biggest favor in the world. Unless I have no other choice, this won’t be my pick next time I go to a hookah lounge.

Not my first time at the viceroy but it has changed quite a lot since I was there last year. Love the new water pipes. They are unlike the traditional hookah pipes. Way more modern. I had a flavor called“blue mint“which was pretty good although I have to admit I like traditional flavors better. Sometimes with these newer mixes it feels like I’m smoking a car air freshener.

I used to really like this place and come every once in a while. But now… I went this past Friday night(SEP2013) and noticed that all the waitresses were dressed up as bunnies in tight corsets, bunny ears, and bunny tails. It looked pretty trashy, if you ask me and I was a little confused because I thought Halloween came early. I asked what that was about and one of the employees told me that they were starting«themed nights». Moving on, we ordered a White Gummy Hookah that took over 20 minutes to come out after ordering. I used to order this really yummy Chicken Wrap here, but they no longer have it on the menu. In fact, their food used to be really good but now their whole food menu has changed and gotten drastically smaller. It took a really long time for the hummus we ordered to come out, and only after we inquired about our order at least 3 times. The vibe inside used to be really classy and upscale. However, the clientele has clearly changed… I am not sure who they are trying to attract but they have definitely turned me off from this place. Not to mention, the waiter spilled hot sauce on our friends’ hair and white top. At least they comped the bill, and apologized a few times, but that on top of everything else has prompted me to write this review. Don’t waste your time here… The Spot and Vibe are much better!

That a place like this can exist and make money is beyond me. Only reason we went in was because it was the only thing open as we drove by. Well, next time, we’ll be sure to keep driving. How people can sit on those sofa’s, dressed their $ 17.84 black frock from Target trying to look like they are the«sophisticated aristocrats» of the Valley while trying to eat their not-so-appetizing-looking-food is beyond me. Waitresses give you the once over and come equipped with plenty of attitude of wanting to be somewhere else. It can only seem to me that any of the«good reviews» on here were bought and paid for to some extent. If this is what people think service, experience and ambiance is about, then we have sunken to a very new low as human beings. But with regards to my opening statement, I guess PT Barnum was right: there’s a sucker born every minute… and at Viceroy, it happy hour!!!

This place definitely has the old«bait and switch» methodology down pat. My cousin and I wanted to hang out so we decided to give this place a shot for some hookah and relaxation. We didn’t really get any of that! First of all, their website lists their hookah prices at $ 17.99. When you get there, you realize that they charge $ 25 as stated on their physical menus. It’s completely beyond me how a business can update their physical menus BEFORE they update their menus online. It’s completely ridiculous. On top of that, they have a 1 drink minimum per person. Excuse me? Why should that even matter if we are ordering a much more expensive hookah? Besides, the hookah sucked. I can load a better hookah and I’m terrible at it! It didn’t hit well at first, then it became too harsh and just made me feel queasy. I had to order a $ 5 tea. I expected to get a nice tea kettle with really good tea. All I got was some new-age, craptastic tea where the wrapper had holes in it for steeping. I ordered the cardamom black and it tasted more like rose water to me. The music outside was playing much too loud, so carrying on a conversation was nigh on impossible. There was a 15% Unilocal check-in deal(thank goodness), but our waitress had to flag down X amount of managers to get the approval as if this had never come up before. Viceroy seems to be a place where the vapid inhabitants of Studio City and Sherman Oaks come to be seen. I used to live in the area; a lot has changed. I’d rather take my derelict ass to Café Amsterdam in NoHo. At least there, their prices are extremely reasonable, their hookah hits amazingly, their tea is served in nice kettles, the service is great, and the environment is much more calm. Viceroy comes off as having quite the inflated ego, but they don’t possess the skills to back it up. They just look good from the outside. Sounds like a lot of people in LA!

The service sucks. We got here around 10:40pm on a Friday night. There were 5 of us. I asked how long it would be and was told it would be a 20 minute wait by the girl up front. At 11pm a gentleman who seemed to be the manager/owner started manning the door. I asked him how long it would be, he said another 10 minutes. At 11:20pm I was told we’d get the first available table. I understand the place is busy, but why if the staff works there, why can’t I get a decent assesment of time for how long I need to wait with my friends? We got the table around 11:30 — 11:40pm. An hour after we got there. Is it really that difficult to estimate when a large table will be free? Is all the staff brand new? After that we gave our order of food and drinks and the waitress forgot who got what, and then brought an extra drink and charged us for it. We waited probably 20−30minutes for the hookah. Then another 10 minutes for the drinks. «the bar was backed up» After that we were checked on, once per hour, until we left. When we got our bill and pointed out the extra drink it took another 10−20minutes to wait for them to remove it. «sorry I had to get approval from my manager.» The décor is nice enough, the hookah and the drinks seemed to be fine. But the waitress just seemed incompetent and the hostess/host just kept leading us on so we’d wait longer. I wouldn’t come back here.
