Some of the best Japanese food around. The binto boxes are delicious. If you are ever in Shelton, you must try it out!

This is a great local spot. I love the spicy pork! The service is great, I nearly always have a call in order for pick up and the service is always great, knows my order and is freindly.

Surprisingly large beer selection and very large menu variety and options. There is no lunch menu on Saturday so do not be looking for the specials on this day. It’s clean and cheerful The portions are very generous and everything seems to also come with Teriyaki chicken I can recommend the Mongolian beef

Had the kobe teriyaki combo 1, combo platter for 3. The food was all really good. My favorite was the teriyaki pork my wife liked the teriyaki beef. Shrimp was ok just average mostly breading. The cabage was really needing some sort of salad dressing like a ginger sauce. The soup was really good. Outside looks a little old and grungy but I side is fairly clean. The prices felt a tad high. But overall really good food and will definitely be back.

Best Sushi around! I also recommend the Combo Fried Rice and the Vegetable Tempura my favorite. I love getting it all to go and enjoy it watching a movie at home. Great, sweet, kind owners and hardworking helpers and cooks! Thanks for keeping my belly happy!

One of the top two Asian restaurants here in Shelton. Food actually tastes like Asian food and not like(as my dad would say, «White peoples Asian food) crappy Chinese food from Safeway. The Spicy Chicken dish is really good and if you really like it spicy, ask for it to be made«Korean spicy» hot. The Chinese food is also very well made, though the Almond chicken can have a bit too much gravy put on it. Ask for the teriyaki chicken and sesame chicken combo, EXCEPT ask for the teriyaki chicken to be made into spicy chicken. Yum. They also do not have a problem interchanging dish combos(as previously stated) like some other restaurants do. Mashi-so yo!

The best of the three or four Asian restaurants in Shelton. That being said, this is my last and final time eating here. I walked in and instantly was hurried by the woman(I think an owner?) to be placed in take out or dine in mode. I was literally in the threshold and she was yelling to me across the foyer. Slow your role. My order was simple. Two beef teriyaki dinners and one veggie«deluxe». While I was ordering the woman taking my order was apparently in some sort of verbal argument in her native tongue, with her husband at the sushi counter. I watched as he was tossing ingredients around, like some sort of tantrum throwing three year old. And not throwing stuff around like at Benihana’s. Kind of like«my wife is bitching at me so this poor bastards California roll is going to suck.» Anywho I received my order and flew home to grub out, only to be disappointed. $ 35 take out and it was pretty awful — again. The teriyaki beef was sickeningly sweet and over done — sort of a teriyaki beef jerky-ish adventure. My wife’s veggie plate was equally as bad. Just over cooked, over seasoned, not fresh and lacks quality. Bottom line, both from the way this place looks inside and the quality of at least three meals this past year — I’m confident in saying these folks have just given up. It’s too bad because Shelton lacks a good Asian restaurant, they could have a niche, but they are far from being there.

One of the reasons I order Chinese food is because I like veggies. With the stomach making noise I stopped off at Kobe to pick something up to take home for dinner. I opted for Kung Pao Chicken, listed as spicy. Those who know me know I like spice, a lot. When I got the order home I opened it up and found the Kung Pao was loaded with veggies, crisp and fresh — baby corn, celery, carrots, zucchini, mushrooms, water chestnuts and more. On top of that they also included some steamed and slightly stir fried veggie mix — primarily cabbage, but also some carrots and zucchini. Veggie heaven for me. The chicken was well cooked though I would have liked it to be a bit spicier(duh). At $ 8.99 the portion was large and ample enough for more than one meal. Next time around I will just have to ask for it to be made a bit spicier. Service was quick and friendly. A definite will return.

Dining in or taking out; doesn’t matter the food is great! While dining in the staff are very attentive and helpful. Great food! Great Service! The exterior looks a little run down and the interior could use some touch ups as well but don’t let that turn you away! Give it a try you won’t be sorry!

Never had a bad meal here! When traveling through we try different spots and we usually hit this place. Plus NO msg! Which I cant say the same for every Asian style place in Shelton.

The prices are fair and the Sushi was excellent. The service was attentive and friendly and overall we had no complaints. Great spot for a quick bite at an affordable price.

I don’t know what was going on but we stopped in about 3:30pm and the chicken teriyaki was very chewy and dry. The food was ready immediately so I suspect the chicken was reheated. The server was very nice but it was hard to pay for food that is not really fit to eat.

I eat lunch here often. The food is reliably good. Nice variety on the menu. The lunch bento is awesome. One of my favorites is the California roe rolls. Good service and good prices. They are always really nice to my little kids when I take them along too. I’ll be back there soon I’m sure. :-)

There aren’t many options for ‘ethnic’ dining in Shelton. Luckily Kobe Teriyaki features a huge menu(Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai dishes), tasty food, reasonable prices, and prompt service. Yum!

Kobe is a decent place to go for sushi if you catch them on the right day. I have not always had the best experience here, but at times it has been wonderful. I have to admit that the owners prior to the current ones, did prepare and serve better quality sushi. The current owners could improve their sushi to gain a 4 star review from me. I would love nothing more than to be able to put a 5 star on this establishment as it is the closest sushi house to my location. First off, their staff are very friendly and the service is great. There is an open roomy atmosphere and it is comfortable. They are pretty popular for take out food and I have tried their non-sushi dishes as well. They have an excellent yellow curry chicken. All of the food I have had there is delicious, with the exception of sometimes their sushi. Louis is the sushi chef and will converse with you about the sushi. He makes sushi that I request specific, even though it is not on the menu. I appreciate this. I was served some«fishy» salmon once and it totally grossed me out. I also had gross eel here. I have had excellent sushi but can see this as a problem if someone was to try sushi for the first time here. That was a while ago and I did tell the chef when I returned a year or so later that was why I had not come around recently. It seems a lot better lately. When I returned, I would stick to the cooked rolls to be safe, but I ask Louis what is fresh and he tells me. So far, lately, I have not been disappointed. I still prefer Olympia’s Sushi House and Lacey’s Koibito and Osaka as they have the best sushi that I have tried so far. But, sometimes when I feel like sushi close to home, I do go to Kobe and I have a good experience. I hope they continue to grow and improve their sushi. It will only do them good and bring in more business. The Crispy Alaska roll is delicious. I do not order Nigiri often here, as the fish has been past it’s prime in the past and there is nothing more gross than slimy fish. Blech! Their prices seem just a bit too high for the quality you receive. Same prices as you would find in Olympia for a better quality sushi. They don’t carry the Escolar, which is my favorite sushi. aka«White Tuna» surprise because you never know if you are getting tuna or escolar :) Either way it’s still good stuff. Kobe does not carry a wide variety of sushi but they do have a few decent rolls on the menu. It will satisfy in a pinch and they are open 7 days a week.

At first glance the menu at Kobe Teriyaki can seem a bit overwhelming as there is a wide variety of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Thai dishes to select. They make it easy by having pictures in the dine-in menu to see what these dishes look like and to give those not familiar with these dishes a visual aid. Now, the presentation of the food is nothing special, but the portions are great. They give you a lot of food, and the prices are reasonable. If you want the most bang for your buck I recommend dining-in or ordering take out during lunch Monday-Friday between the hours of 11:00AM-2:00PM. During this time it a steal of a deal since their prices go up for dinner service. Also, they are very accommodating in making adjustments on their combination plates so if you want a specific combination plate that is not listed on their menu, just ask and they will honor your request. The last time I went I ordered Orange Chicken and Tonkatsu combination plate with no price change. Depending on the substitution it may increase the price of the combo for example switching the Chicken Teriyaki for Beef Bulgogi.

This place greatly exceeded our expectations! We used to live in the area, and had been to all of the other teriyaki joints in Shelton, but were not impressed with any of them. If only we had visited Kobe! When you enter, you have the option of ordering at the counter and getting your food to go, or selecting a table and having a waiter serve you. The restaurant is much bigger than it looks inside. They have a HUGE selection… pretty much all of the standard Japanese and Chinese foods, plus a decent sushi selection. My husband ordered a California roll, and a plate that was half chicken teriyaki and half general tso’s chicken. I got a Bento box that had a little of everything. The California roll was delicious! We didn’t try any other sushi, but if we came back we would probably try some of the more interesting sushi items. The avocado was just right, and the whole roll was very fresh. We both thought his general tso’s was slightly overdone, but not enough to ruin the meal. He thought the teriyaki was good. Both meals included a warm cabbage salad… which is actually much tastier than it sounds. I got the vegetarian bento box which included tofu steaks which were lightly fried and tasty. The tempura vegetables were decent, though not the greatest I have ever had. The waiter was attentive and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely come back next time we are in town!
