This hotel is pretty inconvenient in a couple of ways. I was almost forced to stay here because of a carnival we had brought to town. The first morning I was awakened by what sound like a small child running back and forth on the floor just above us which pretty much drowned out the loud conversations the housekeepers we’re having. Secondly, for this to be a hotel with all the appliances a regular apartment would have, you have to buy any utensils you may want to use during your stay. Don’t even bother with housekeeping. It’s bi-weekly. The rates are a whole different review.

I recently relocated to Shelby to get away from big city living, and my children and I stayed here for three weeks, the only reason I’m giving it three stars and not five, is the wifi is none existent. I will get to that later. but first very reasonable price, lovely clean rooms with fridge, table stop stove and microwave. the staff at the front desk very, courteous, friendly and professional, the location was excellent, you are in the middle of everything including supermarkets, dining, gas station, Walmart, Ihop, Bojangles, Tj maxx, the Cleavland Mall and a host of business including the Post Office, everything readily accessible and your right in the middle of it, they also have brand new washing machine and dryers on the premises which you can use your credit card, to was your clothes. How cool is that! the place was kept nice and clean and the residents that lived there(I guess folks do live in hotels) were cool, at no time did I ever feel unsafe, there are security camera’s everywhere and the folks tend to look out for each other. with all that being said, I don’t know who is the cheapskate that owns that joint, but I’m going to need them to get a decent WiFi in that place, looking for a house to rent was a nightmare, you could not get online, and when you did by some miracle of the hand of Goddess, you were kicked off and its down for the rest of the day, when I tell you in the three weeks I was only able to get online a full total of four hours. I would not be exaggerating. trying to use the WiFi for any type of business was non existent. I found this to be quite disgraceful in this day and age, as folks like myself who choose those types of hotels for savings and decent place to stay, are also needing WiFi to conduct our business. I don’t know what business people did for work in that place, I felt like a bandit always having to go to Burger King or Boost Mobil to use their WiFi to look for a house to rent, find local attractions in the city as well as schools, whoever the cheapskate who runs this franchise need to read this review, also I didn’t see any roaches and they have a really nice cable package which kept my kids from driving me up a wall.

The rooms are nice and the mattress seemed to be new. No bed bugs thank god! However, we saw roaches creeping around. Oh and the counters were filthy wen we checked in. There was still food and salt dirtying up the counter. That’s not the problem. The problem was the people staying there. I know the hotel can’t do anything about it but I’m just letting you know in case you have children. Don’t stay here. Many of the men walk around drunk. One men urinated on the wall outside and let a big puddle for everyone to step over at the door. There were people talking about selling and buying crack. It’s just the town not the hotels fault. But still, it’s not too safe considering those are the type of people who are there. My husband ran into a man he went to high school with there who even told him he was smoking dope in his room. Needless to say we left as soon as we could.
