Kerbys Koney Island

I want to give this place a good review because it’s by my house and convenient, but I just can’t. And I’ve given it several chances now. Today I ordered carry out and was told to come in 10 – 15 minutes to pick up. Came in 8 minutes and my food was cold, items I paid extra for were missing, and the staff was all grouped together chatting and not helping customers, including me trying to check out. If you want a quick sit down meal with bad service (which typically doesn’t bother me as I’ve come to expect it here and take it for what it is) this is your place. If you’re in a rush and want a carry out order, don’t order it from here. Basically, keep your expectations very low and you won’t be disappointed. And always check your carry out, if you dare to order it, before you leave.

Having just moved to Washington Township I am new to this coney island on every corner routine. So I tried this place for the $ 1.00 coneys all through July.
Called ahead ordered 3. They were good & I liked the bite of the onion. They have a separate door for carryout & a counter register as well. But it is to pick up your items only as you still go to the main register upfront.

I’m a fan of Kerby’s, been eating lunch at the Troy location for many years. So when one opened here in my neighborhood at home, happy day indeed! I don’t give out one stars very often, for I understand the consequences here on Unilocal,but this place needs it to re-​examine their business model.
The service was a joke, I was wondering if I was there on a «high school fundraiser» day where the kids all showed up to sling plates for a good cause! So I went back again. And a third time. But, no more. I will not be back… the food isn’t good enough to override the lousy service. Sorry Kerby’s, let me know when you hire waitstaff over 18.

The service is terrible. They seem to hire a lot of teenagers who spend most of their time preening and talking to each other. One visit, the order was brought to us wrong three times! Carry out is almost always missing something and once it was completely the wrong order. Breakfast time is somewhat better when the the servers aren’t the teenagers! I really can’t recommend this particular Kerbys unless all you are wanting is just a quick hotdog. They seem to do those okay.

Called ahead & «tried» to place a carryout, was put on hold for 3:22 & someone forgot about the call.
So I called back & Veronica answered this time, I explained the miscue & she was very apologetic .
Ordered a coney special & large bowl of chicken-​lemon-​rice soup.
Arrived & it was on the counter waiting, veronica said «you must be Ron»
I replied I am .
She was so very kind & out going, even offered to buy me a soda for the issue, but I passed, cashed out, thanked her & tipped her.
Nice save Veronica!
This restaurant is long overdue for the area.
Veronica was super sweet in the carryout assembly & delivery of the goods.
The coney special was loaded with hamburger loose, onions & mustard & the hotdog casing had legitimate ‘snap’
The large bowl of soup for $ 3.09 was perfect & hot.

Not very clean. We were seated at a dirty table and grease on seats. We told manager and he said that they have been very buzz y and things will get better. I will not go back!

So happy this location opened. It’s been steady busy the last couple weeks. Walked in this evening to place a carryout order. Fast and friendly service. Was greeted on the way in and on the way out. The order was accurate as well with no issues. The restaurant itself is very spacious. A few LCD TVs are hung throughout. The overall layout is great. Look forward to dining next time.
