This place is beautiful and Ioved the service. We had some of the best food I’ve ever had at a wedding. The servers and bartenders where amazing. But… I had a huge problem with one of the ladies working the wedding I was at. Her name was Molly, she had what they call«RBF» resting bitch face. I’ve always lived by a saying, if you don’t love ur job. Then quit and find something you do love. I don’t know if she was having a bad day or what. But someone should tell her to smile. I do know a lot of people and will be telling anyone that books a wedding @ cherry creek to NOT have Molly as a supervisor.

Fantastic place to have your party! We have thrown several parties in the area at different venues and the staff and service here blow away the competition. Can’t say enough how easy they made it to be able to plan and have a party here… we are so thankful! We would definitely choose this venue again and again. Keep up the good work!

Practice Facility Only Review: For an out of towner I enjoyed the practice facility this weekend. Grass range that was pretty crowded, but died down as Saturday went on. Ample space with a few pitching greens, and two putting greens. One minor complaint: Why only have 3 flags to shoot at on the practice range? The yardages from my station were 50, 130, and 165. Why nothing else? That isn’t a great range for the«casual» golfer. To me it wouldn’t cost a whole lot to put some targets out there every 25 to 50 yards, so why not do it?

Almost five stars. The course was great as was the price, the employee checking me in and the starter at the hole. What wasn’t great was the woman starter interrupting me on the practice green telling me I’m on the tee when in fact I had 15 mins until my confirmed tee time. She was rude, curt and even followed my friends into the clubhouse while they paid telling them they are late when in fact, they weren’t. I’ll be back but I hope she is off.

Have played here every summer Saturday morning for 8 years. The course was in the best shape ever this year. Great job to the whole management team. As far as slow play? I wouldn’t know, we are first off and play in about 3 ½ hours.

A fair course for not being up north. but seriously can not believe that fall rates for a Friday morning are $ 45. Beer prices like six bucks each. Ima thinking a few courses just as nice can be had for better prices.

Unbelievably slow. We played here last week, and wanted to slit our wrists… over 6 hours to play the round, and that was without eating at the turn(line was too long). Pay a couple bucks more and play at the Orchards, or Graystone. Rangers at Cherry Creek are a joke… we had 4 groups on 1 par 5…1 on the tee, 1 on the green, and 2 on the fairway. Carts were everywhere. ‘Bill” the ranger said he would go tell the lead group to hurry up(they spent 15 minutes on the green)… got in his cart, and drove right past them without saying a word. Worthless. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere, or expect all day on the course.

WORSEPACEOFPLAYINMACOMBCOUNTY! Expect at least a 5.5 to 6 hour round at Cherry Creek Golf Course. My tee time was at 2:45 but I decided to walk off the course on the 6th tee box at 4:50. That’s almost a three hour pace for nine holes. Unacceptable. Clearly the pro shop was glad to take our money and get us off the first tee. But guess what waited for us on the Par 3 third hole – a backup of four groups. And the marshals? Yes they are on the course, but they didn’t have the first idea how to move play along. I guess that’s what you come to expect from Cherry Creek, ineffective staff and miserable pace of play. Book your tee times somewhere else! I know i will.

Cherry Creek is a gorgeous place for your reception and they are very responsive via email throughout your wedding process. However, I was told incorrect information prior to the signing of the contract by the event coordinator at the time. I was told floor length linens were included, however, 4 months before the wedding the event coordinator did not recall telling us this information and I had to deal with the general manager. He was one of the rudest managers I have ever spoke to. He claimed that the event coordinator has never had a mix up during her many years working at Cherry Creek and said that he was not worried about giving me the floor length linens since it was only a couple hundred dollars. However, he was concerned that I was going to be a «nit pick» bride where I would complain about everything and say that I was told things were included when they weren’t. After this conflict. they let me have the floor length linens included. The event coordinator also told me that day that the minimum was the same for Saturday and Sunday which I found was not true the day of the signing. However, my biggest concern is the fact that Cherry Creek interrupted my photos on the golf course 5 times making my reception introductions 45 minutes late. I was told right when I arrived that we could take pictures anywhere on the golf course. We were given the options of taking golf carts or walking and chose walking to try and be quicker since we took pictures right near the venue. I was interrupted 5 times saying I could not take pictures at the location we were at and redirected to a different location. Then another employee/manager would come out and tell us we could not take pictures there. The last employee told me i could not take pictures on the golf course at all because it is Cherry Creek’s rule which is NOT true. For the amount of money you spend at Cherry Creek, I would not recommend having your reception there. You do not want to have these issues on your wedding day.

A family wedding brought us here and it was a wonderful place to have it. There were many staff members to accommodate each table. Waitresses passing out appetizers in the beginning/. An open bar and they weren’t skimpy on the alcohol either. The main course, fillet/chicken/carrots/potatoes. It was all delicious as well as the salad and rolls beforehand. The dance floor was huge but the problem I had was the placement of the bar. It was right in the middle of the room and the line of people interfered with everything. You had to keep squeezing through the line to go to the bathroom or just to visit anyone at another table. Aside from that, it was a great night.

Cherry Creek can really be hit and miss. Sometimes the course is in fantastic shape, other times it’s really beat up. They are notorious for over watering the course, which IMO is the bane of most Michigan golf courses. This crazy idea that«green» = «great shape» needs to be eliminated. Over watering leads to soft conditions, which leads to beat up greens from giant ball marks(which it seems 90% of the playing public have no idea that they’re supposed to fix them). But the main problem with Cherry is the pace of play. This course just has too many hazards for the average hacker, so if you’re playing on a weekend morning, expect a 5 hour round. The course isn’t clearly marked as to what is hazard and what is woods either. It would do them some service to cut down some of the marsh land as well so that landing areas can be seen. Hidden landing areas lead to people looking for balls. As a low single digit handicap, I *love* the layout. Very nice variety of long and short par 4s and par 3s. UPDATE: I played here on 4÷21÷2013 and for this time of year, the course was in great shape. We had a ton of rain dump on us the previous week, but the course was NOT that wet. It still was a 5 hour round, though. Would like to see them do something about this. It looks as though they cleared out a bunch of trees in the wooded area, giving a couple of the green complexes much more sun. Should help! UPDATE: Played again on 10÷4÷2013 and they have cleared out more stuff which is blocking your view of the landing area off the tee. I mostly noticed this on #6 and #14. They also got smart and moved the tees BACK on #5, which makes it a true 3 shot hole. This hole was notorious for getting backed up because people were waiting to go for it on the 2nd shot. Now unless you absolutely bomb your driver, you’re laying up short of the creek. Pace of play was pretty good, maybe 4:30 on a Saturday morning, and it was fairly packed here. Update: Played on 9÷20÷15. Slow as ever, and the green were pretty beat up. It’s clear that management has tee times too close together. Played around 1pm, and we teed off 2 groups later than we should have. There is ONLY one conclusion that you can have with this, and that is tee times are so close together that 2 groups cannot finish the first hole in the amount of time which 2 tee times take. In other words, if they have 8 minute tee times, then the first hole cannot be finished in 16 minutes. Most course managers believe that if they increase tee time intervals that this will result in fewer rounds, but they are wrong in this belief. In the end, you get the SAME number of groups going through the course in the same amount of time, because you have faster rounds being played with the larger intervals. Also, Cherry Creek needs to figure out what to do behind the bar. With so many events at the club, having one girl behind the bar to cater to them and to the people making the turn at the same can make for a long time at the turn. We were 10 minutes at the turn as I waited a good 6 – 7 minutes for a bottle of pop. Course was really soft, and I’m still convinced they just drench the greens every morning. You could see every single footprint, and I’m not a big guy.

Way overbooked. Year after year, it takes 5−½ to 6 hours to play a round. Refuse to space their tee times out more. Always people right in front and back of you. Still nice conditions though, and a very playable course!

Beautiful course. Well maintained. Popular course and rangers can be jerks at times. Banquet service has really declined and leaves much to be desired. We had a 50th anniversary party for 30 people… they were one meal short and ran out of cake! No apologies! 6−20−14 Update. Previously I had rated this place 3 stars due to staff being jerks. Had it happen again yesterday. Our friends hold a large charity golf outing there every year. Two of my guests for whom I bought tix had to leave after golfing to pick their child from the hospital so they were not able to join us for dinner. We asked one of the waitresses to box up their dinners($ 45 each!) but she said they had none. So we stopped the manager. She told us they couldn’t sighting that it violated health codes. Sounded like BS(I mean they serve us the food and they cater with this same food but we couldn’t take it home?) but most of all I HATED the condescending tone she had. She even used a sing-songy reply with a little dance saying«ahhh-nooo» twice to our suggestion. It really made my blood boil how she spoke to us. She is definitely not cut out for customer service or even customer communications. Hey rude manager– I spent over $ 1200 at your place yesterday, we’ve had two family weddings here, two association golf outings, a wedding party golf outing, and this large charity event(about 200 golfers) for the past 10 years or so. Plus I’ve golfed here numerous times including taking lessons one year. But I will now go out of my way to avoid this entire place now and tell everyone I know about this rude banquet manager.

Course was way overbooked and rangers were very rude, trying to get us to tee off when folks ahead of us were only 220 yards away. Rangers ignored speaking to the very slow players. Cart had park brake that did not work. Freeway noise on 4 or so of the holes sounded like we were on a racetrack. Will never play Cherry Creek again.

Just finished the front 9 and thought the course was exquisite. The fairways were green and well manicured although people need to learn how to replace their beaver patches. The greens were just difficult enough(also green and kept up nice, they appeared to be rolled). Service was great and the rangers were a delight! Well worth the above average price. I would recommend to all!

Cherry Creek has the worst conditions in Macomb County(2nd year in a row). They do not fertilize citing budget constraints. Other courses that charge much less still manage to maintain their course. It is clear that Cherry Creek is more concerned with profits rather than providing a solid golf value. If you are a golfer, drive a few more miles north an play the Orchards, Glacier Club or Greystone — you won’t be sorry.
