Staveleigh House Bed & Breakfast

On Labor Day, through a garden crowded with flowers, we drove up to Staveleigh House, and received such a warm welcome that we felt at home right away. The bed was soft and warm, the bathroom pretty, with a really strong shower. The living room was furnished with fascinating antiques and a collection of locally themed or produced books, some of them beautiful art books. We sat on the porch in the evening talking to other guests to whom we had been introduced by Ali, our hostess, listening to the crickets and Ali and Harry’s miniature horses and goats moving around in their corral. When the time came to leave we really didn’t want to go, wishing that we could have another breakfast of creamy blueberry french toast…

I know many people who tend to use B&B type places aren’t reading these post but I will definitely have to say that if you want to take a trip out to the Berkshires and don’t want to stay in a hotel, use should try this place out. Ali is the owner/​operator and she is the sweetest person you will ever meet. From the first time you talk to her on the phone until she gives you a hug on the way out she will make you think of your favorite Aunt! Cute place, the bed was a little stiff for my taste, the breakfast was delicious, and the hospitality could not have been better.
Definitely a place to try, even if you are not over the age of 40!
