To level set, I am the person who they invented plates with different sections for. My food should not touch. Something came over me and I was enticed to order«The Pile». It is pork, brisket, coleslaw and mac & cheese all together on a bun. One other thing, not huge lover of coleslaw either. I ordered it and I loved it! This could be life changing of starting to let my food touch but, probably not. The only reason for the 4 stars was the sweet tea was weak. It was just slightly darker than my water. Last but not least the fries were top notch too. Similar to the ones served at the Great Minnesota State Fair. I look forward to brining others here to prove my food bravery!

This place is outstanding. Right when you walk in the door you see the two smokers, you know you are in for a treat. Seriously the food is done with love and passion, you can taste the work. I have literally had some of the best baked beans here. They were great. Rich, smoky, and full of molasses. Baked beans don’t get much better, UNLESS they do Hawaiian – styled beans. Bacon, pineapple, Allspice… wow, it was a luau for my mouth. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It was tender and moist and basically melted in your mouth. Great smoky flavor too. The thing I really liked though was the Bourbon BBQ sauce, you could actually taste the bourbon. It was strong and tangy and paired great with my pork. My wife tried the Black Bean Teriyaki Burger and I would have to say that I would totally be cool with becoming vegetarian if all their food tasted like that burger. And don’t skip dessert if they have banana cream pie, basic but done very well and super tasty. Love me some southern food! Service was great, the staff really wanted to win your business. I like a place that knows the importance of great customer service. Next time I am in Shakopee and need to grab some food, I’m stopping here.

My husband is a huge fan of «The Pile» but unfortunately I feel like the food quality has decreased. Most recent visit this summer was disappointing. Ribs and«pig wings» were tough, sweet potato fries were at the same time greasy and burnt. Floors were sticky and our table reeked like a wet mildewy rag.

Being from Texas, it’s hard to find brisket that lives up to my expectations. In fact this was literally the first time I’ve been super impressed with a brisket break in this state. It’s tender, nicely cut, and great smoked flavor. I tried their sausage, pork, and Turkey, but the brisket was the star for me! Service was decent, prices in line with most BBQ places. But overall a great experience!

This place is good, and there really isn’t better BBQ in the area, but the way they get chintzy keeps me from coming back. I first dined here the week they opened up. As someone who has traveled to Kansas City just for BBQ a few dozen times, I would consider myself at the minimum, a BBQ lover. I was thrilled with the idea of a local joint that would make the trips south unnecessary. While the food is close enough, they certainly don’t follow the BBQ traditions of excessive portions. The last two times I ordered my favorite(the pulled pork) I was underwhelmed at how the meat didn’t even cover the bun area, let alone spill over like every other BBQ joint I’ve been to. The final straw was when I ordered a pound of pulled pork to go. It works great as leftovers and makes for a quick snack/meal. They asked me if I wanted sauce and I said sure(who doesn’t want sauce with a pound of pulled pork?) But what the employee failed to tell me, was that you get zero sauce with your pound of meat and they tacked on $ 5 for a small side dish of sauce. Like you would get potato salad in, they just filled it with sauce. Can you imagine if you ordered fries at a restaurant and then found out later you were charged extra for the ketchup? So $ 5 for what amounts to a massive single serving of sauce. Decent food but poor value and the nickel and diming betrays BBQ in general. I won’t be back.

I took my girlfriend here when it started to rain at valley fair. We both got the pulled pork sandwich. Tastes amazing and is definitely is enough for at least one meal. The ambiance is very interesting and your eyes won’t get bored. All around a great place

I would’ve given it 5 stars but the floor was slippery, the shades for the windows had major dust on them, and the booth seat had black electric tape fixing the hole. Makes me question how clean they are in the places I can’t see. We had the dinner for 2. Ribs w/2eats(pulled Bork n shredded BBQ brisket) w/4 sides. Everything taste smoked and fresh! The BBQ chips weren’t even close to good. The fries were delish, the potatoes were seasoned right, & the Mac n cheese was yummy. Their spicy sauce has a unique taste to it which set it apart from other sauces. In a GOOD a way! My fiancé loved everything. Corn bread was sort of eggy tasting. I spent $ 29 with tip. Great price for how much food we got and had good it tasted. Would recommend and come back!

I’ve been here before and had a great beef brisket. This time was not as good because some of the beef was dry and tough. Some pieces were tender and juicy though. I read another review about the cleanliness of this place and I agree it could use some improvements. While I was eating I was bothered by 3 flies. It could have just been me but there were flies around the last time I ate here. I had a good experience the first time, hopefully it will happen the next time I eat here.

I love local bbq joints as the only thing that makes me happy to be at a chain one is the bread pudding at Famous Daves. Entering the restaurant you see the giant smoker on your left(a very welcome site) and then venture up to the counter. This was where I started getting a bad feeling about this place. Menus were laying on almost the entire counter, and also didn’t seem too clean. Ordering is Famous Daves style where after you place your order they give you a number. The waitress taking my order was really nice. I had ordered a combo platter and a soda. Soda station was self serve and for some reason the flooring seemed kinda slick, but not sure if that was my shoes. The combination platter came with pulled pork, ribs, cornbread, and brisket along with 2 sides(I chose mac and cheese and coselaw). The pork was pretty dry and flavorless. The ribs were pretty tough and overcooked. To top it off, the brisket was extremely salty. I didn’t finish my meal, not even half. The mac and cheese was decent though. Ultimately I wouldn’t recommend this place and won’t be returning. This place seems to have many good reviews, but I unfortunately didn’t have that memorable of an experience.

OMG! So friggin’good! Ordered the Pig Out platter and fell in love! When I walked in to Mr. Pig Stuff my attention was drawn by the two staff members working the phones at the register and helping customers. They were very helpful and courteous even though they looked so busy! This fact was very encouraging! A busy place means lots of satisfied customers! The place looked neat and orderly,(Cleaner than my house!) and it smelled like BBQ h e a v e n!(I am so singing as I write that word!) The food was amazing! The Pig Out came with coleslaw, six cornbread muffins, baked beans that melted in the mouth, one whole chicken, too die for pulled pork, mouth watering ribs, and of course, extra yummy BBQ sauce baby! Yes! My clan of six ate till our bellies hurt! The only thing I would suggest is adding buns to the Pig Out platter for the pulled pork but throwing it between a couple slices of bread worked beautiful for my little ones! Corn bread was okay but awesome when thrown in the microwave with butter and honey! I would recommend this place whole heartedly to those families that might shy away from eating out with roudy kids. Just order and pick up and you won’t be disappointed! I love it so much I am reconsidering bringing my own clan out to eat. Look out Mr. Pig Stuff!!! In regards to the reviews about cleanliness, I did see a help wanted sign so they are obviously incredibly busy and need the extra staff. I believe this is a new location for them as well, but my oh my, bare the growing pains peeps! Because if you want to enjoy great BBQ with finger licking sauce, this is the place to go!(Beautiful kick to their spicy sauce as well! Milk please?)

Would recommend the slop bucket. Delicious mix of pig on a bun, sausage, briscot, and pulled pork in one reasonably priced meal. Comes with delicious fries! Don’t forget to order at the front. You order and then seat yourself. FYI beverages are also self serve.

I used to be a fan. I’m not any longer. The food is OK. I’ve even had great food. BBQ can vary due to several factors, so I give it a pass even if is just OK sometimes and great others. But I can’t recommend a restaurant with such poor cleanliness standards. As another reviewer wrote, it’s FILTHY. I don’t know how you can own and run a place day in and day out and not see this. I see plenty of restaurants(too many) and know you can keep it clean if you want. The last few times I’ve been have been questionable. My most recent visit was awful. How can you have faith in the food quality and cleanliness of the kitchen when the PUBLIC areas are so poorly maintained. Booths are torn up. Some of the booth seating had obvious holes in them with stuffing torn out. I mean holes 8 — 10 inches across. Really? The décor looks like they are going for Texas roadhouse. I guess that must extend all the way to the damaged seating. Tables are in disrepair. Our’s rocked badly. The glasses near the pop machine they direct you to for drinks are awful. I asked for new glasses as the only three that were there were steaked and had food particles on them. The brought out new glasses directly from the dishwasher(I know, they were still hot). I held them up to the light and they are clearly dirty. I can even see that they wiped them with a rag after they came out of the dishwasher. The rag must have been dirty. It was clearly streaked with yuck. I even showed the person that brought them and he agreed. I was able to scrape food that was caked on the OUTSIDE of the glass. How do you bring that to a customer and claim it is clean? How do you not notice that? The area in front of the soda machine is also a kitchen entrance. It is extremely slippery. I’m an amputee and have to be careful on slippery surfaces so I’m extra aware. My 5 year old girl fell twice! She fell walking up to the soda machine for her drink and again on her refill. I mentioned it to staff… they said they would clean it up. I’m not sure if it was food or grease or both. We never saw anyone attend to it while were there. That’s just plain negligent. I read a few other reviews while in the restaurant… wish I had checked beforehand, but as I mentioned, I’ve eaten there before and it wasn’t awesome, but it wasn’t obviously dirty like this visit. I can confirm cobwebs in the restaurant as well. How in the heck can you own and run a place and not see this every day? Thank God I did not go into the restroom.

My mom and I were headed down to Shakopee to Mystic lake to see Willie Nelson perform. so I looked up BBQ in Shakopee on Unilocal and Mr Pig Stuff showed up. Score. I read the reviews and I knew the Pile would be my sandwich of choice, but I knew it would be too large for one person and my mother was a willing partner to share it with. I ordered a Diet Coke to wash the meal down as we sat at one of the tables with good views of the TVs. The sandwich is massive with Layered with Beef Brisket, mac and cheese, Pulled Pork, and coleslaw. It was delish! Super juicy brisket and pork and the mac and cheese was good, but kind of got lost in all the juiciness of the meat. I did like the pickle slices and the addition of the coleslaw. I had to eat mine with a fork, it is just to sloppy to eat as a sandwich, but it was all good! The bun was tasty and buttered and warmed to perfection, gotta love a good kaiser roll! I would definitely go back, It was pretty reasonable as far as price was too. They didn’t have good draft beer which kind of sucked. Willie played awesome too!

Good food. We had the pork sandwich, great. People said the ribs are the best around. However the rest rooms are dirty and full of mold in the woman’s. Good food, nice people, will eat there again.

A hidden gem! We stumble upon this restaurant this afternoon while out in Shakopee. Currently, adding a bar to the facility so expect a little construction but worth it! The food was delicious! The Pile is a must! Loved the mac and cheese noodles on the sandwich. Crisp fries and many tasty bbq sauces to choose from. Service was top notch! This place does understand the true meaning of hospitality! So thank you for the delicious lunch! We look fowarded to dining with you soon!

Another Unilocal success story ! My family and I were visiting the Minneapolis area and as this was our first visit to the area, we referenced Unilocal to help us select a place for dinner. We were in the mood for BBQ and Mr Pig Stuff ranked near the top. Upon entry, as with any good BBQ place, the aroma was heavenly and like a pack of wolves our noses went into the air, sniffing all the wonderful smells of the various sauces and meats being cooked. The décor of Mr Pig is a bit scattered, and not of impeccable cleanliness, but on par with what one would expect from a BBQ establishment. The menu had a nice variety and contained the typical foods and sides. My youngest ordered the pulled pork sandwich, my wife got sausage and I got a combo, Ribs and Chicken, with the spicy sauce. It didn’t take long for our meals to arrive and as fellow Unilocalers pointed out, the portions are plentiful. Actually, my daughters pulled pork sandwich was really big and I knew there was no way she was going to finish it. My wife was quite during the meal on account she was too focused on savoring every bite. As for me, I’m a big eater and upon tasting both the ribs and chicken, I paced myself as I didn’t want to let any go to waste. The spicy sauce was kicking too ! Upon leaving, we lived up to Mr Pig’s last name. We were Stuffed… as well as being content and very pleased with the entire experience. My only regret is that Mr Pig Stuff is not in my home town. But, if we find ourselves in this area again, we will sure be coming by for some great BBQ. Thanks to all my fellow Unilocalers in the Shakopee area for leading us here !

Overall it’s pretty good BBQ for this part of the country. I’ve been here twice and have walked away feeling the same way about both visits. Personally, I don’t find the baby back ribs to be anything special. The flavor is nice, with a nice hint of smoke, but they’re not tender enough for my liking. Nothing bad, but pretty average ribs IMHO. When I come back here though, it’ll be for«The Pile» Sandwich. It’s pulled pork, brisket, mac & cheese and coleslaw piled on a bun with your choice of BBQ sauce. This sandwich is frieken AWESOME. Judging off of my experience with the sandwich, I’d highly recommend the pulled pork or brisket here. Sides: –Sweet potato fries were good –Potato salad was OK –Mac & Cheese side is good, but awesome when combined with the amazing pulled pork/brisket.
