Not really impressed. Both times I have been there the order was wrong. The food is ok however over priced.

Had the 50⁄50 burger. Half beef half bacon burger. Good burger. Asparagus side dish was seasoned really well. Draft beer was too pricy. Didn’t expect to pay stadium pricing for a beer at almost $ 9 for a single 23 Oz beer.

Good food, great service, friendly staff. Generous servings, we both took left overs home.

My boyfriend and I stopped in Seymour for a little date night. Rails was the perfect stop. We ordered the beer cheese as an appetizer and it was good. We both had salads and ordered entrees. He ordered the car cakes and I got the sirloin. The food was good. The service was excellent. Each dish came out right after the next. Beer list was also good. We even got to chat it up with one of the managers for a minute who gave us a history of the place. Great atmosphere and good food. I would definitely go back if I visited the area again.

Why this place has bad review is beyond me. The had 2 beers in the top 250 list. That’s five stars if you ask me. Food was good. Service was good and of course the beer list was fantastic. There is nothing to knock here!!! 5 stars.

_FINALLY_ I have been patiently waiting for a place like this to open in Seymour for almost three years(since I started dating a home town boy). In a sea of Applebees, Cracker Barrels, and McDonalds, I have been waiting for a nice place to enjoy a drink or eat. Now, I have read some of the other reviews and we had a good experience here with our wait staff and food, in Indy or Bloomington I might have given them a 4, but we can’t find anywhere to eat in Seymour that isn’t a chain, so that is worth a star in my book. I have been here with my boyfriend(2), a small group(4), and yesterday the whole fam damily made it out(8). In all of these situations, we were seated quickly and the service was great. My beer lovin’ boyfriend is so happy there is a place in town that offers a craft beer selection, they even had Zombie Dust when we stopped by. They generally have a small draught selection and lots of bottles to choose from(including some of our favorites like Upland, Quaff On, Three Floyds). The selection rotates and is up on the chalkboard above the bar. Favorite on the menu: Crabcakes Super yummy, lots of crab and not a lot of bread, not greasy, delicious sauce. My boyfriend and I have both ordered these and on our last visit another person did, loved them all three times. Burgers, buffalo sandwhich, salads, onion soup and chilli all tasty treats. Looking forward to checking this place out again on our next visit. Our experience is that they are very accommodating to dietary restrictions and will adjust your dish/sub as needed = always a huge win for me!

We found this restaurant during OktoberFest in Seymour, IN. We didn’t know it was there, and after we walked around downtown we decided to have lunch here. I had the crab cakes with a baked potato. The crab cakes were fantastic, yummy, great and you get the idea. I can’t figure out how the chef held the cakes together because there didn’t seem to be a binder, no filler. It was simply awesome. I sent my compliments back to the chef. I’ve never had crab cakes this good.

It’s a nice place that’s not a normal chain restaurant in Seymour. I ordered the 50⁄50 burger. It really wasn’t anything special and was over cooked. The mac and cheese is really cheesy(I’m ok with that). My husband got the club. It was generous with portions and good. The sweet potato fries were also good. We’ll go back again. They also had a live band outside playing. The atmosphere and staff was pleasant.

I think this place has a lot of potential. We’ll known in Seymour and nice vibe. Great selection of beers and a nice wait staff. I got the shrimp ceaser salad and asked for light dressing which I got the exact opposite. Way to heavy on the dressing and the shrimp were hard… My boyfriend got the shrimp Alfredo which was pretty good and the beer cheese was pretty good. My friend also got a turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries which were okay. All in all the food wasn’t to die for but it wasn’t bad either and the environment was cute.

Unexpectedly good mushroom burger. My wife said the buffalo chicken sandwich was just ok; not spicy. Beer selection was very good. Had the popular IPA, but wide selection for those of us who do not like IPAs. Clean and good service. Stop in for an above average experience!

This a nice place downtown to eat lunch or dinner. I didn’t try any of the drinks but my lunch(grilled chicken wrap with asparagus and Caesar salad) was good. The food itself is only 3 star but the atmosphere of the restaurant easily bumps it up to a 4. The service is good(not great) and the location is convenient, if you’re waking around town like we did.

We ate here for dinner tonight. We were seated right away and our waiter was Tyler. He was very nice! He checked on us more than once and brought refills right away. I got the ½ lb angus beef burger and my fiancé got the 50⁄50. Both of our burgers were cooked perfectly! My fiancé even said«it’s perfect, isn’t burnt and isn’t pink in the middle» it was the best burger I’ve had in awhile! I got a side Caesar salad which was good too! Wonderful atmosphere, love the style of this place! Prices arent too bad, $ 8 – 10 for a good burger. Michael got an IPA and said it was really good! Overall, it was amazing and we will be coming back soon :) service and food are both great!!!

Every other month, we meet up with our best friends for lunch somewhere partway between Indy(where we live) & Louisville(where they live). Our selection for our meet-up earlier this month was Rails Craft Brew & Eatery. Overall, it was just«ok» in my book. However, I know from other dining experiences around the area, it’s probably«good» for this particular area’s non-chain restaurants. First, the beer. While I didn’t drink, the rest of our party did. I found it shocking that a place advertising themselves as «craft brew» are mainly working from bottles/cans. I think they only had like 5 taps? Really, the craft selection wasn’t that much over most simple liquor/beer stores have, and the upcharge rate was high. Secondly, our waitress had poor beer pouring technique(if you are going to be mainly bottles/cans, your staff should be better educated on how to pour a beer). This establishment, as of this writing, is listed as a «brewery» on Unilocal, but I will be requesting a change to the label. They do not brew, thus they are not a brewery. If this place is a brewery, then Applebee’s is too… I felt a bit tricked by that since I had found this place through Unilocal. The rest of the party ordered variations on the 50⁄50 burger. The burger was huge, and they all reported that it tasted good. I’d had a burger for dinner the night before, and couldn’t face another one. I splurged & decided to get the fried fish with fries & a ceasar salad, because I knew we would be having a lean dinner that evening. The salad was«meh»…nothing special, tasted like bottled dressing, the lettuce was limp & the big stems were still in it. Since I essentially ordered«fish & chips» for lunch I had requested malt vinegar on the side, because that is the ONLY way to eat«fish & chips» for me. 10 minutes after we ordered, the waitress came & informed us that they didn’t have malt vinegar. What? What sort of place has fried fish on the menu, but no malt vinegar? That is a standard restaurant condiment/staple…what the heck? If I had known that, I would have ordered something else. Actually, I would have liked the opportunity to change my order on the spot… but it was not an option if I wanted to get a meal at remotely the same time as everyone else. Major bummer. Overall…I’m glad we tried it, but this most likely will not become one of our regular meet up spots for lunch.

Let me preface this review with the fact that I know this is a young restaurant and all young restaurants have bugs they need to fix and kinks they need to work out. That being said, this is a very cool building and ambiance with below average food and wait staff that could use some experience. The chips and salsa came out with ample space for more chips(which came from a bag and were stale) and salsa from a jar of PACESALSA that you can buy at any store for less than the price of the whole appetizer. I got the Breaded Fish sandwich with a side salad. The salad was nice with fresh ingredients but it came with a roll that was clearly burned. The breaded filet was not your average beer battered tempura which is light and crunchy and doesn’t fall off; the breading slid off the filet and the bread(which was like Texas toast toasted on one side) was soggy before I even took my first bite. My date got the buffalo chicken sandwich which wasn’t anything special. We could have made it better at home. But he got a side of mixed steamed veggies which were still FROZEN in the middle! We couldn’t really get over that one… Our waitress was sweet as could be but lacked experience. She had to come back to our table multiple times to get our order right and beers right and ultimately had to confirm what we had ordered before she went back to handle the checks. Really inefficient but probably just due to inexperience. I hope this restaurant makes it! They have great potential and could make a GREAT hit, as long as they tighten things up. Would love to revisit in 6 months to see how they’re doing.

So this was my first time at Rails and I was completely unimpressed! We had a party of 5. The beer cheese was runny the pretzels were heavy. The 2 steaks were not cooked properly at all and I think the cook was pissed when we sent a steak back for being over cooked cause the replacement came out raw. I sent my chicken cordon bleu back it had zero flavor and my mac n cheese was cold and again bland. Do you see a pattern here? I will not return it was crap food! It gets one star because I have no choice but it give it at least one. Avoid at all costs!

Nice place wasn’t too busy because of hoiliday but nice atmosphere food nothing outstanding at our table for first go round but would return to try other items on menu when we want to spend about 35 $ for 2 people, with one eating a burger. Little disappinted in chicken alfredo didn’t expect it to be on bow tie pasta with yellow cheese loads of chicken in it a salad with it was extra and not included but just o k nothing I couldn’t made myself. Loved the open air patio but wasn’t ask a choice for seating preferance. Service was fine. Very nice place for seymour

**update** who cares if the food is good, when they tell you 1 week before your wedding’s rehearsal dinner(that even though you booked them months ago) they can no longer host your party. Disgustingly unprofessional. Just what this town needs. The atmosphere is cool, the craft beer selection is great, and the food is awesome. We had the beer cheese spread for an appetizer(yum!) and I had the buffalo chicken sandwich– a nice surprise that it was grilled! I’d recommend this place to anyone!

When we walked through the door, it felt like we were no longer in Seymour! Great vibe! Amazing crowd for a Monday night! The Bourbon Salmon was top notch! The Ginger Beer was sold out. :(We’ll be back!

A friend and I ventured out to try Seymour’s latest local restaurant on opening day, and, boy, I’m glad we did! The building facing the east-west rails has been beautifully renovated. The service by Nikki and her co-workers was outstanding. The food, from the appetizers to the desserts, was top notch. In a town filled with so many chain restaurants and so few locally-owned options, it’s refreshing to have a new choice for a great meal out without having to drive to Columbus. It’s was great to see the community’s support on the restaurant’s first day open to the public – there was even a wait by the time we left! I’m excited to try many more menu items, including steaks and seafood, on future visits. Rails Craft Brew & Eatery is hands down Seymour’s best restaurant. It’s well worth a try! I know I’ll definitely return again soon.

Great clean restaurant with good food and a fantastic beer selection. Seymour needs a place like this and I am excited to be able to grab a bite to eat here. I recommend trying the 50⁄50 burger, it was delicious! Hospitality was great. Only negatives were music selection and noise level.
