Clocks Repaired By Jeff

My beloved grandfather clock had stopped and another technician told me it would be hundreds of dollars to repair – if it could be repaired at all.
Jeff came, assessed the clock, and had it running again in less than an hour.
An honest businessman. What a rarity and what a pleasure to find.

I inherited my grandparents’ 1971 grandmother clock, which had been in storage for a while. The pendulum had been removed and the weights were in a box. I contacted Jeff to see if he could put it back together and get it running again. Jeff makes housecalls, so we set up a time for him to come to my house to take a look at the clock.
Jeff took everything apart, checked and oiled the pieces, and tested the movement to make sure it was keeping proper time. Then he put it all back together, being careful to set the moon in the right phase. I was behind him when the clock started chiming, so I’m sure he didn’t see me tear up when I suddenly heard the sound I remembered from my childhood. My grandparents’ clock was working again.
Jeff leveled the feet and he taught me how to care for the clock. He showed me how to set the time and the moon calendar, how to raise the weights, and how to adjust the speed of the pendulum. I’ll be calling Jeff in three years to come back to clean and oil the parts again.
