GROSS! This place is filthy dirty and looks like it’s never been cleaned. The food also appears to have been sitting around a very, very long time. I ordered a turkey samdwitch. The edges we’re all dried and hard. The pasta fagioli soup tastes like it’s from a can. The French fries taste like old fryer grease.

Very good soups and good sandwiches. Is you are looking for a quick stop and for something a bit above a deli, this is the place to go. GREATFORDAILYFRESHMADESOUPS! Although not all of them are my taste, they are all made that day and are good. Their house pasta salad is good! A lot of pharmaceutical sales reps use this place for ordering lunch for their doctors. I am one of those. If it’s not good we would never order from a given place. This place has good food and is reliable. EVERYONE rips off reps by charging way too much and this place is a bit lower than the others. So, I like them for that a bit more.

I was pleasently suprised. Stone Soupe is not your average deli. If I had to describe their business to someone I would best describe it as a privately owned Panera. Unlike Panera(which is my favorite for years and years) their prices are doable and their portions decent. Their $ 5 lunch special(½ sandwich and soup) can’t be beat. Panera would charge nearly double that. I loved their unique sandwich options that were all full of flavor. I will definitely be back.

Had the chicken orzo soup and it was delicious, I also had the couch potato and bacon soup which was delicious as well. Great location. I cannot wait to go back for more soup this winter.

SOB panini — crunchy, fresh bread + great toppings. I wasn’t expecting to like the sandwich, but I did anyway. My only problem is that I feel like the ratio of bread to filling was too high. Maybe I just want my ‘wiches stacked. Personal preference or objective observation? You decide. 4.5 stars

Not what it’s cracked up to be. Had a old coworker rave about this place, finally went here the other day for a quick lunch and I paid $ 17 for a soup, sandwich and two drinks. The panini I had(cant remember the name, it had bbq sauce, grilled chicken, bacon and cheese) wasn’t good, the chicken was chewy and seemed undercooked. So i basically pylked out all of two pieces of chicken out of my sandwich. Way too much bbq sauce, bread was too hard and I was dissappointed. Broccoli and cheddar soup tasted good but they purée all the broccoli and whatever other veggies that are in it, so it looks like hospital soup lol. Sorry Stone Soupe, don’t think I’ll be coming back.

We order lunch from here at work. Sandwiches and salads as well as soups. Something for everyone including vege options.

This place is an absolute GEM. I’ve been coming here since they opened in 2010. Panini’s are their flagship, Heros are great too, soups are delicious and their variety of salads are worth mentioning as well. Service is on par usually, expect long waits during lunch as this place is well known. Does a ton of catering on a daily basis. On the occasion you’ll get a new seasonal employee that is still learning the ropes, so if it doesn’t exceed expectations the first time give em another try.

This place is by far our favorite place for egg sandwiches! They use a egg glazed roll which is delicious. They also have great salads. I haven’t tried anything here that I didn’t like. And to top it all off… they deliver!!!

The half sandwich and soup lunch special for $ 6 is the best around! They have a different selection of soups everyday and there is always a vegetarian option. The sandwiches here are all great. I usually get the cubano Havana panini. I highly recommend going to stone soupe. Delicious, affordable, and friendly service.

Very good little deli! You can make your own salad. The chicken orzo soup was delicious! Friendly staff and clean. There are tables to sit at in the deli. The food was fresh and yummy!

Woman lied to me over the phone. Said they closed at 6, and they were closed when I pulled in at 5:30PM.

My mom works down the block from Stone Soupe and goes here about once a week for lunch and some of here coworkers even go everyday! So clearly it’s a great place. We always come by here for lunch whenever I go to visit my mom at her job. One of the nicest cafes I’ve ever been too! I always get the Old Field panini with grilled chicken and a big pickle. It is so good! My mom will always get a salad or omelet, both of which are amazing. Pretty much anything from here you can’t go wrong with. The staff is always incredibly friendly and welcoming, even during the lunch rush when they are packed. They have some cute tables inside and also two picnic tables outside when the weather is warm that is where we always sit. A very cute place and I highly recommend it!

I’m quite disappointed in myself for not stopping by Stone Soupe earlier, despite countless recommendations from friends. For some reason, i kept thinking Soup’s On was the same place as Stone Soup and had been very disappointed with Soup’s On in the past. But on to the good stuff… Their half panini with soup deal is top notch and only costs ~6! Got the S.O.B. from Janet K’s recommendation, and LOVEDIT! Actually came back and got it again another time too… The combination of chicken, GUAC(you the best), and their sauce gives this panini such a cool kick. Also tried the Old Field — chicken cutlet, spinach, basil mayo, oven roasted tomato… this one was alright and I would not order this again bc it was too mediocre without any special taste. The soups: They tend to be on the saltier side and do not come with bread… but they are hearty and filling. — Tried their version of chicken noodle soup with orzo. Yum. — Tomato soup — tangy, but good. — Cauliflower cream soup — my favorite. — Country Split Pea and Ham — pretty hearty Lot of parking. Accepts credit. Plenty of seating for small groups. They take orders in advance over phone or online. Don’t be like me when I first heard of Stone Soupe. Come ASAP!

I have been working in this area for almost 15 years. Many Delis & Pizza places have come and gone over the years. I knew instantly that Stone Soup would last. First thing they did was completely renovate the place which it was in desperate need of. They spent the extra $$ and I guarantee it has paid off. The atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. They have a small area for dining as well as some tables outside that are great in the warmer months. The food is simply some of the best I have had in the Setauket /Lake Grove area. I have yet to have something that I don’t like at Stone Soup, I am not kidding. The Hero’s are just amazing(try the Melville Patriot, you will love it). Their Pannini’s are to die for, especially the Cubano Havana, and their salads are very creative and unique. The custom salad bar is always fresh and they have a wide selection of ingredients. I have visited salad specialty shops that don’t come close to Stone Soups selection. The people are always friendly and they go that extra step to make you feel at home. All the employees at Stone Soup are the best! Summer months are a great time to visit Stone soup as my co-workers and I enjoy taking the walk from our office, then being able to enjoy lunch outside is a definite plus when you work inside all day. I would definitely recommend Stone Soup to anyone I know.

Came here for breakfast. Ordered the kamikaze which is like 3 eggs, bacon, ham, cheese and home fries on a hero. Everything was good. I didn’t ask for it to be anything special so I shouldn’t expect much in terms of how eggs were cooked, in this case a little overdone to my liking. I find they don’t give enough ham to make any difference whether it is there or not. Their home fries though are very good. $ 6.99 for the sandwich and it is quite filling. I would come back again to have the same thing. I hear good things about their lunch sandwiches too so perhaps I will come back to try those. Overall good first experience.

Personal favorites: The SOB(has to go on the panini press) cranberry walnut chicken salad butternut maple bisque(fall and winter seasons) I discovered this place two years ago, and now my boyfriend is a regular. The staff knows us by name and are always friendly. The $ 5.00 soup and half of sandwich special is the best!

Great take out place for lunch. There’s always a huge line and food takes a while, but is freshly made. I’ve had soup a few times here, but I’ve never been bowled over by the soup. I feel as though the cream soups are too thin and under-seasoned. The sandwiches however make this place a solid 4-stars. The«stone soup tidbits» is grilled angus steak slices with mozzarella, BBQ sauce and crunchy fried onions on a club roll. Pure Heaven. It costs a pretty penny, but it’s worth it for a splurge. They also have a build-your-own salad station if you are feeling guilty. There are a few small tables if you plan on eating in.
