First time here during Memorial Day weekend. I am a huge cupcake fan and this place literally takes the cake! I love how you have the option of different sizes. They’re creative and oh so delicious. Moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet. It’s a couple of hours away from me, but I’m already rallying friends to come back and taste a bite of heaven!

The MOST amazing cupcakes we’ve ever found! Try them! We went in only expecting to get a couple of cupcakes but after trying a sample and seeing the flavors that they had that day, we ended up with something closer to 10 by the time we left. :) Each of the flavors is made in 3 different sizes(mini, regular, and a jumbo). The owner mentioned that they have something like 300+ flavors that they rotate with different ones available on any given day. I was pleased that they had a decent selection to choose from even later in the day. The cupcakes themselves are light, moist and flavorful but its the frosting that can make or break a cupcake. EVERY single flavor that we tried had amazing frosting! It is light, creamy and fluffy but most importantly, it is not overwhelmingly sweet! The real flavor of the frosting comes through clearly. They have really nailed the perfect balance of flavor and sweetness in every bite. They also do cakes and take special orders for things like weddings as well. As I mentioned, we have tried probably a dozen or more flavors and every one of them was fantastic, but I have a few personal favorites. The Carrot Cake was incredible: Delicious, moist and flavorful cake with a perfectly balanced cream cheese frosting. We got more of these the second day! Banana Caramel: This was the sample that we got to try in-store. It has a perfect banana flavor(not artificial at all) and the caramel and frosting was ideal. The cupcakes we had were so delicious that we made it a point to come back the very next day before leaving town to try even more flavors! This place will now be a «must stop» for us any time we are in the area!

Perfect spot for a delicious treat! Way easier and fewer calories than baking yourself and oh so much better than a grocery store cupcake. They have creative and tasty flavors and are very rich — last time we had the biggest size — next time I’ll try the medium. We really appreciate you can size up and down as needed.

I never ever liked cupcakes before until I tried cupcakes here. I am a huge fan of their red velvet cupcake. The price is not cheap, but for an occasional treat, it is worth it. Owners are pretty nice and it Is a very nice little store/restaurant(?). The one thing I do not like about was the actual birthday cake I ordered one time for my husband and it was not as good as we expected. That was a bummer, but owners know what they are doing with making cupcakes for sure. Definitely this is go to place for cupcakes. :D

Not sure where the nay Sayers have been getting their cupcakes and why they feel like these are so inferior :(The overwhelming majority of reviewers found them fresh, moist, and delicious… as did I. Only sorry it took me so long to discover this little gem of a bakery. Got a dozen of the minis and will be going back for the jumbos next time ;-) Just what Sequim needed! Lucky us!

We were staying in a cabin near Sequim. It was my birthday so we headed here for cupcakes and they were amazing! We tried at least 6 different varieties. Everything was super moist and just the right sweetness! I’m just sad we can’t get them in Ohio.

I have tasted cupcakes up and down the coast from B.C. To LA. This little shop has the best coconut cupcakes and chocolate filled cupcakes any where. They are light, flavorful and not too sweet. Most places I have tried, I leave saying, I could make that at home but not these little gems! I was less impressed with the carrot cake flavor. The bakers and clerk were friendly too. This is my new, my stop, shop in Sequim.

This is a pretty cool Lil cupcake shoppe. I got 5 $ 1 minis on a Tuesday and the older man at the counter said«what do you know about Tuesdays here?» «Nothing.» «Tuesdays are buy 2minis get 1free». So he had me pick out another one. I appreciate honest folk like that! My favorite was strawberry lemonade and raspberry cheesecake. I was weary of trying the raspberry cheesecake bc so many people mess up cheesecake flavored stuff– they don’t! I thought the chocolate ones were more dry for some reason. I will definitely come here again if I ever visit!

I wish I could give 100 stars! We contacted Sue at That Takes the Cake less than 2 weeks before our wedding and were so thrilled that she was able to help us on such short notice. My husband and I met with Sue for a tasting/consultation and it was, by far, the most fun we had during our entire«wedding planning» process! I wish I could do it again! Sue has been doing cakes for over 29 years and she was SUPER helpful and not pushy. We didn’t have a specific vision so we trusted her expertise and advice to come up with a design. We felt extremely confident in her because, even meeting her briefly, you can tell she is very passionate about cake! Every single flavor we tasted was outstanding. I’m not a huge fan of cupcakes but I wish I lived close enough to eat there every day! Sue delivered and setup our dessert table and it looked amazing. We ended up picking 5 different flavors(cake and cupcakes) and everything was TODIEFOR delicious!!! Best part of the night for sure. Guests were RAVING about the flavors. I only wish we would have bought MORE! HIGHLYRECOMMENDTHISBAKER!!!

Me, my wife and six year old daughter stopped in there today and were happy we did! I had a small dark chocolate cupcake, my daughter the vanilla and my wife the red velvet. In a word delicious. Easy to see why king 5 ‘s best of western Washington chose this place as tops. Super clean, very friendly owner, and delicious cupcakes. Nice to know they do cakes of all sorts too. If you’re in sequim and have a sweet tooth this is most definitely the place to go. We are happy to have found it.

Haven’t had the cupcakes yet, but My mom ordered my bday cake from here and it was really dry. I thought maybe it was just that one time, so I ordered my sons cake from here and the decoration where really good just what I wanted but the cake once again was dry. There’s nothing worse then dry cake and you need to chug down a big glass of milk afterwards. The cakes I make out of a Betty Crocker box comes out more moist then the cakes here.

CUPCAKES! While some say they’re on their way out I disagree. These guys have it right! Three sizes to choose from in each flavor. Small(silver dollar sized) regular and jumbo! All frosted and topped with goodies and typically with a little treat in the center to match the frosting or accent the total flavor. They also do cakes and if fact baked the cake for the wedding of some friends. He was very friendly and answered all our questions(even the stupid ones) and we left with a dozen minis and a couple jumbos. My jumbo was Maple bacon and was pretty fantastic… the minis I tried were red velvet(Great) and triple chocolate(good but not great). A pleasant experience and tasty treats. Only open Sundays during the summer.

Three sizes for cupcakes: mini, regular and jumbo. Price ranges from $ 1 — $ 4 each. They also have stamp cards and gf items. Most of the regular and jumbo cupcakes are filled with a creamy center. We’ve visited here 30+ times and I’ve never had a «dry» cupcake. Rich? Definitely, but«dry» is not a word I’d use to describe them. I’m the kind of person who loves chocolate and sweets. Each and every time we visit the Port Angeles/Sequim area, we make it a point to arrive early enough to buy cupcakes from this shop. Favorites: #1 Lavender(very light & fluffy but only made for summer); Runners Up: Champagne; Strawberry Shortcake; Irish Crème; Chocolate Hazelnut(rich)… and the Mojito was AMAZING but I’ve only seen it on the menu one time.

These folks did a fantastic job in helping me with a Grand Opening we held. I had them place our logos on our cupcakes, and they did a beautiful job, not to mention how yummy they were! Great service! Thank you, guys!

Ordered a mixed dozen for a toddler’s birthday and they were delicious. She was so helpful and patient with our questions about the flavors. We will definitely come back!

We stopped in on a Sunday and they were not only open, but so nice and helpful. We got a Cherry Chocolate Chip, Guiness Stout, and a Peanut Butter Chocolate. My son and I got a mini of ours and at a $ 1 each these are a bargain. Wow. Packed with flavor and about a two bite taste. My daughter got a regular sized one and it was abut $ 2.50 or $ 3.00 and she loved it. Great place to stop and have a taste if not more!

We were delightfully surprised to find a cupcake store during our vacay in the Olympic Peninsula! Even better? THEYHAVETHREEDIFFERENTSIZESOFTHEIRCUPCAKES!!! This is the most brilliant idea I have experienced because I love cupcakes and sometimes, I just want to try all the flavors and with this place, I can! Another plus, even the minis have the fillings that the regular and jumbo sizes have. Plus, the minis only cost between $ 1 – 1.25!!! Their prices in general were very reasonable, since I have seen specialty cupcakes sell for $ 7 – 10 at some snooty places. We bought four dozen mini cupcakes and a giant one(as a sweet surprise for my honey back home in Florida). –The red velvet has a cream cheese filling and buttercream icing on top– it is a delightful bite of heaven. –The vanilla filled with lemon curd and topped with buttercream icing was also very yummy. –The chocolate peanut butter was not that great and it had a chocolate mousse filling. They also had two really cute flavors: a root beer float and a Jack n’ Coke for all you«adults» out there. The root beer one was super cute with a little pirouette cookie stuck in the icing on top, and my youngest sister declared that it was«nom nom nom». I definitely liked getting a variety of flavors to try instead of having to commit to one large cupcake and potentially not being satisfied(and feeling a whole lot more guilty) with my selection. Two Pointers I have for the owners: 1. More merchandizing! The people you attract with this store tend to be of the female persuasion and that means that cute gifts and novelties will definitely sell. You should offer not just t-shirts(because they can be really unflattering), but also tank tops which are super popular. In addition, having cute little canvas bags with your logo would not only be a best seller, but would essentially be advertising that can be used again and again. 2. If you’re going to offer«sprinkle shots», you definitely need to also offer icing shots so people can have little 75 cent samples of your yummy frosting! So if you are in the area, definitely indulge your sweet tooth at this cupcake heaven cause the desserts are just as sweet as the price!
