I live over in the Tampa area, but happened to be in the Seminole area over the Thanksgiving weekend. I desperately needed my nails filled and repaired, and decided to go to Mantrap of Seminole since it was very near where I was staying. Had my nails done by one of their nail techs, Kelly Santo. Best nails I have ever had! Was extremely happy with the result and since I have a French Manicure that is sometimes not the case at the places I have visited in Tampa. So was really happy that I decided to try Mantrap. And loved Kelly Santo! I definitely will be coming back here. Salon was great and everyone was very friendly!

The employees are rude, the openly & loudly talk negatively about clients. I went for a wax, was told to sit on a bare table, with just a small square of paper. The wax was cold so the strip wouldn’t stick, and the tech pulled skin off trying to get the cold wax off. By the time we got enough of the wax off for me to get dressed and flee my skin was red, irritated & bleeding. On my way out three employees were eating at the front desk and one wiped her hand on the front of her shirt! This place is gross and unprofessional!

I’ve been going here for a while, never had a negative experience. This last time Dawn gave me my new favorite hair cut.

Went with my best friend for a spa day. Hair & nails and just to get caught up. My friend has been going there for years but this was my first visit. I’d get my hair done again by Rae in a heart beat. BUT… I would not get my nails done there again. At the end my nails were rough, and barely painted. Paint on the skin… just sloppy. and dear God the attitude! Commenting about clients in the beauty shop is just wrong.

i think $ 55 for having my roots dyed was way overpriced for this salon. i don’t mind paying that much for a little pampering at a nice salon, but this place was not my idea of nice at all. it seemed cluttered, dated, not exactly well kept. i had to pay $ 5 extra for my bangs to be trimmed. it would have cost $ 10 more to have my hair blow dried. the stylist was friendly enough, gave me a styrofoam cup of coffee(with no where to set it down & a piece of hair in it), and the password for their wi-fi. while waiting for the dye to set, she sat at her station and read & talked on her phone, but never checked on me. she sat me under what looked like an old fashioned dryer, but it wasn’t turned on. i came home to dry my hair & realized there was still dye in the back of my hair that hadn’t been rinsed out, so i’m really glad i didn’t pay for having it dried because i had to wash it again.

I just moved here and decided to give this place a shot. Strange name, but don’t let the name turn you away… I went in for a women’s haircut and got the best haircut I’ve had in years! Coming from the Los Angeles area I think that speaks volumes. I will definitely be going back and in fact I’m going back Saturday for a full highlight! Go to Xinia!

Back when my sister and I were still in school we’d come home to visit our parents in Seminole and Mantrap had just opened. On a lark we walked over to get my sister’s big 80’s hair cut. I don’t remember much about the cut but I do remember how convenient the location was. Fast forward to today and I’ve moved back to Seminole and wow — Mantrap is still there! Olta Dede is by far THE best hairstylist I’ve ever had — and that’s saving alot since the last 20 years were spent living in the heart of San Francisco California. Yes, Olta is better with foils and precision cuts than anyone at any salon I went to in SF. Go to see Olta you will NOT be disappointed.

With a name like Mantrap, I was a bit hesitant to go get my hair cut here but I was relieved to see an older man sitting there beaming as I walked in, sitting right next to a sign that said ‘Men’s Hair Replacement’. I’m luckily blessed with a good head of hair so I have nothing to worry about for the time being. My hair stylist was a delightful woman named Xinia, who my friend has been going to for years. Not only does she cut hair but she specializes in coloring as well. WIthin minutes she had assessed my hair, asking all the right questions before shampooing and cutting and in 30 minutes I had a very nice-looking cut. I will recommend Xinia in a heartbeat. I loved the fact that she is originally from Costa Rica so I was able to practice my Spanish with her. Great place to go for a haircut. or hair replacement!
