Great place to see a show. Have been a member for years. We go to dozens of shows a year. Awesome venue, great acoustics, and friendly crowds. Last night, we experienced our first issue at ST94. The beauty of Sellersville Theater is that you are up front and personal with the artists. It is a great place to take pics and short videos with your phone to commemorate the good time. Never has this been a problem. Much to everyones disappointment, at last nights show, there was an usher more concerned about those videoing than he was about the safety and assistance of fellow patrons. Typically, the ushers do a great job. The theater is laid back and is a comfortable place to see a show. When over enthusiastic fans stand up and/or talk during the show, the ushers do a good job asking them to sit down and/or not talk for the benefit of others. Last night however, these were ignored and the usher was more concerned with anyone taking small video clips. This was very disappointing. Over the last 2 nights, I was at 2 shows back-to-back. The first night, many of us video’d clips of the show throughout the evening.(this is the norm). Last night, we were back(one night later) and sat in same exact seats as prior night. During the first song, the usher immediately reprimanded many members/patrons videoing segments of the show. Again, these are cell phone videos not professional video equipment. This guys actions noticeably lessened the enthusiasm of many at the show. It was really unfortunate. There is absolutely no difference between holding up a phone to frame and take a pic vs. taking a 10 – 15 sec video clip. None.

My first. Great little 300-seat venue complete with full bar, cabaret seating and membership privileges($ 94/yr). Very eclectic musical mix, with a lot of second acts, e.g., «Bill Payne(of Little Feat).» Acoustics are good, though I thought the sound last night was at times a little harsh. Also, bar + cabaret can result in a somewhat rowdy audience, with folks moving through aisles toward the bar right in the middle of a set! Hard to find parking in the dark.

What a great little 300 seat venue to see music. Living in NJ, it’s a long haul to get there but I love this place. The employees are always friendly and accomodating. Tonight, Chris Hillman & Herb Pedersen — can’t wait, saw there here once before. Nice air conditioning, too. I sprang for a table seat(check for availability 30 days prior to the show as they are held for members until that point).

I adore this place! Found it over 10 years ago and I have seen so many great shows here. Some were acts I recognized and some were completely new to me. We saw Quinn Sullivan this past weekend — I had never heard of him but he is AMAZING blues guitarist and he is only 16! There isn’t a bad seat in the house, the seats are comfy, you can get something to drink at the bar and bring it to your seat, it is spotlessly clean, and parking is free and convenient. Love it here!

Sellersville Theater is a great place to watch a show. The sound is excellent as well as the sound staff is top notch. The best seats in the house are tables and chairs set up at the base of the stage before the rows of seats start. Supporters of the theater get first shot at those seats. The rest are broken up in two sections but no matter where you sit, there’s not a bad seat in the place. Volunteers make this place work. Without them, they would not be able to bring the great calendar of music that is offered monthly. For example, upcoming shows of interest to me include Ian Hunter formally of Mott the Hoople, Mike Zito formally of Royal southern Brotherhood, Devon Allman, also a former member of RSB, and Coco Montoya formally of John Mayalls Bluesbreakers. It’s an eclectic calendar of all types of music including cover bands that do Hendrix and the Eagles. There’s a full bar in the lobby that also sells snacks and candy. Plenty of parking on the street and in the municipal lot.

This historic venue is a good place to see a concert. I saw Karla Bonoff perform here last night. She came out to the lobby after the show and signed autographs, so I got to meet her. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the staff cordial. There is a small concession stand in the lobby where you can purchase beer, wine, and soft drinks. There is not enough free parking in the area if the show is sold out, however, the private property lot across the street is only $ 5. The management spared no expense on the sound system, and it is superb. The seats are comfortable, however, I disagree with some of the other reviewers. The sightlines to the stage are not good, unless you are right up front. The stage riser is rather low, and the seats are not staggered. In other words, if someone tall is sitting in front of you, all you can see is the back of their head.

I think the $ 6.50 surcharge per ticket bought on their website and over the telephone is excessive. They seem to want to limit the audience to local people.

AWESOME !!! Restored old theatre in a quaint country town that books mostly tribute bands and nostalgic talent. Ticket prices are reasonable, seating is perfect in this historic building as it is small and intimate. Acoustics are very good. Volunteer Staff is helpful and friendly. Conveniently located right next door to the Washington House which is a great local tavern/restaurant. Makes for a really great night out… stop for a drink or eats, then walk a few steps to this great little theater. Kudo’s to the owners for giving the community this little gem!

Visited: Wednesday — November 5, 2014 — 8PM One of my favorite contemporary jazz groups is Acoustic Alchemy(AA). Prior to AA scheduled arrival, I never heard of ST94. Excuses and commitments delayed my making plans to see AA until September. I feared that all the seating would be gone when I contacted ST94 but, was pleasantly surprised that plenty of seating was available. I was hoping to purchase tickets near the stage referred as cabaret seating. The ticket seller indicated that those tickets were only available to members. The tickets would be released if unsold by Nov 3. On Nov 3, I purchased the cabaret tickets. Snacks and beverages were available for purchase in the lobby. The theater seating is immaculate with NO bad seats. Our table and chairs were located as cited on the on-line seating chart. The music volume was at an acceptable level and clearly heard. I recommend early arrival because the Sellersville Theater«competes» with its«sister» business, The Washington house restaurant for parking. Great experience… I will return. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — Aside: There are a couple of reviews that challenge the distance driven to reach this theater and the allegedly wealthy or «privileged» that are able to afford the cabaret seating. Distance traveled should NOT serve as basis for evaluation. Does anyone include the flights or travel requirements to see the Grand Canyon or Rome Italy? No! I planned an hour trek to reach The Sellersville Theater and in fact, took longer but still arrived early. I am neither privileged or wealthy. I was NOT and still NOT a member but was able to purchase cabaret tickets by listening to the instruction of the ticket seller and acting accordingly.

Great theater– I have seen several live performances here over the years and have always enjoyed it. A great gem to have in the area.

I would definitely see another show here. This place is nice. We saw Altan Irish band here. The temperature was nice and the sound was PERFECT. The bathrooms were clean and the bar didn’t totally rape us on drinks like most other venues will. This place was restored and still has that old charm. Very clean. I would love to go back here for another show.

Nice old theater way out in the country that books mostly cabaret and tribute type acts, along with the occasional decent rock show that for some reason couldn’t or didn’t want to book into Philadelphia proper. I was going to say the theater is «in the middle of nowhere» but Sellersville has quite a few streets of well developed suburban homes, so it’s not exactly«nowhere». It is, however, a pretty long drive from the Philadelphia area, and feels even longer if there is roadwork or bad weather — I’d say allow about an hour to get there. It is always good to see these types of venues saved from the wrecking ball. The theater inside is not as ornate as some(it reminds me a little bit of a nice convention hotel) but it’s pretty enough, and has plush theater seats as opposed to something more uncomfortable or no seats at all. There’s a parquet area in the front that has table seating. So — why am I not giving 5 stars for preserving this old gem? Well, let’s look at positives and negatives. Positives: Books some good acts Comfortable seating Good sound Good sight lines usually Ticket pricing is reasonable Negatives: The front rows and tables are reserved for members for some period of time. Now I understand that places like this may depend a lot on memberships to stay open, and that in Bucks County there are probably people rich enough to throw down for a membership, but when you are booking a rock act with an established fan base, the people most excited about going tend to be the band’s fans who see them at many shows, not random«members». I myself go there occasionally but not frequently enough to justify the cost of a membership, especially with it being an hour there and an hour back. So me and other fans have to decide whether to buy our tickets early(thus guaranteeing a seat when we’re making other plans to go) or wait till about a month before the show to see if anything opens up in the front. The online ticket system doesn’t seem to give you a way to choose a seat or see available options — you pay your money and have to take whatever pops up. So if you’re the kind of person who has long legs and wants to sit on the aisle even if it’s farther back, you’re out of luck. Audiences here seem to include a number of people who don’t really care about the act and are just there because they have a cheap ticket or a membership or something, which is a bit of a downer when you’re all pumped up seeing a great band and the 50-year-olds next to you are yawning and walking out half way through. Finally — the available venue parking is totally inadequate to accommodate a show audience, and we have ended up parking several blocks away in the adjoining residential neighborhood. It seems safe and all but given how many shows this place puts on, and how long it has been there, would it be so hard to create a larger parking lot or garage? It’s also a bummer that the adjoining«Washington House» which used to be an old hotel is not operating as a historic hotel. All it has in it is a restaurant with wine. It might be fun to eat in said restaurant and drink said wine if I(and a lot of other people) weren’t looking at an hour’s drive back to Delco or Chesco after the show we came to see — too bad the Washington House can’t operate as a historic hotel so we could eat, drink, see a show and stay overnight. Still worth the drive to go to Sellersville once or twice, especially if you’re a big fan of the act that’s playing and want to see them in a comfortable, intimate setting, but there are ways this experience could be made much better.

Wow! This theater has been here for 120 years! The acoustics are great, there is not a bad seat in the place(holds about 300?). If you are a member you can sit up front. Pricing not bad, and ordering is a breeze. It is a bit of a schlep and depending on the day can take me 30– 40 minutes to get there from the Philly end(or beginning) of RT. 309

Well my review is bitter sweet. I have been to many venues at the Sellersville. It is great to have such a place in my own back yard, so to speak. Lots of cool acts come in and out of there and for the most part I enjoy going there. It is clean and small so almost any seat is a good seat. What I don’t understand is why they sell snacks in clear, noisy wrappers when you are going to see a show! Sunday I took my husband to see the Elton John impersonator(Kenny Metcalf) for an early Valentine’s present all I could hear is people crackling their bags of snacks. The lady next to me was so noisy about it as were a few others. I get you have to make money but can’t you sell tubs of popcorn instead of cellophayne bags?! Also, Kenny had trouble with the piano not being tuned. It was kind of painful to watch. Maybe it needs an over haul before the next music performance you have there! Rethink your snacks, furthermore you should do away with the snacks and send people to and from your tavern if people can’t go two hours without a snack they should be ashamed of themselves!

Used to go to Keswick to see live performances, but discovered Sellersville about 8 years ago. It’s about ¼ the size of the Keswick Theater. I’ve seen Lisa Marie Presley, Raul Malo, Richard Marx, Kevin Bacon, The Manhattan Transfer, Doug Church, and so many more. Everyone from the front desk to the person serving wine is always so nice. Love this place.

I’ve been to shows at the Sellersville Theatre three times, to see The Asylum street spankers and the Wyos. Always excellent shows. This place has seating, so if you suffer from chronic pain, this place is for you. Also, the acoustics are quite good, parking is ample and they don’t just serve alcohol, so if you are not drinking that sort of thing, there is tea. If you want dinner before the show, I recommend Washington House, which is next door.

FINALLY… I made it to the Sellersville Theater. Heard about it for at least 10 years. I don’t know why I didn’t make it sooner, and of course, now there is regret. Truly, an intimate setting, small venue, small stage and great sound. So, why won’t a give it 5 stars. The privileged parquet area, that’s why. I shouldn’t have to commit to become a member of a theater to get the best seats available. Yeah, whatever… it’s simply how I feel. In this day and age of the few and privileged only being able to get good seats, I’d like to see the Sellersville Theater remove this privilege. It’s a no brainer if you live close by and have opportunity to frequent the theater. If not, it makes no sense. Just sayin’, give everyone a fair chance. That being said, they’d get 4.5 from me if I could. Great space, VERY courteous staff and obviously well cared after. I’ll be back, even if I can’t sit in the privileged parquet. Oh yeah, do yourself a favor and SKIP the Washington House if you want to eat. See my other review for details there. Eek.

i really like this place for many reasons i can get here in about 30 minutes, find a free place to park without too much trouble, sip a cocktail on the deck outside or in my cushy little seat and then sit back and enjoy a wonderfully intimate show in this gem of a venue they do a decent job of booking an eclectic lineup of talent — have seen joan osborne, hoots ‘n’ hellmouth and the cowboy junkies here my advice? if you can’t score first-row seats/cabaret seats, no worries — just grab a seat in the back row — you are closer to cocktails/restrooms/merch — plus, there isn’t a bad seat in the house. if you feel the need to get out of your seat to dance, there is a sliver of space behind that back row, fyi as others have noted, if you like the keswick, you will like this place as well — even more intimate of a «listening room» with less hassle and waaaay shorter lines for the ladies room a solid 4.5 stars

I am a huge fan of the Sellersville Theatre. It brings a wide range of shows to Central Bucks, in a small intimate venue. The experience will spoil you when you go to bigger venues like the Keswick, Kimmel and similar theaters in NYC. I love their membership system, that gives you first crack at tickets, including the tables in the front right by the stage. Normally you can actually be too close to the stage but not here. The sound is good, and since most of the groups are more acoustic in nature no problems with your ears ringing the next morning. In terms of amenities, there are ample wash rooms(not like the queue that you endure at the Keswick), and the bar in the front serves beer and wine, as well as soft drinks and snacks at prices that don’t make you feel as if you have been held up at gun point. Coupled with a dinner at the Washington House next door, the Sellersville Theatre makes a wonderful night out.

I love the Sellersville. We have tickets for three shows coming up and would go more often if it was closer. Recently sat front row center for Marc Broussard and what a treat that was! Normally I don’t like sitting so close for fear of ears getting blown out, but the sound was perfect. Tonight is a Raul Malo acoustic show with seats in the second row center and CANNOTWAIT! If you are familiar with the Keswick, this is smaller and better — better sound, better acoustics, better staff, better seats, better pricing. Not that the Keswick is bad, but this is… better. I’ve sat pretty much everywhere here, even standing in the back for Brandy Carlisle(yes! Brandy!) and can safely say there is no bad seat in the house. A superlative mix of acts are booked and there should be something for everyone. Lots of friendly volunteer staff. Beer and wine available at the snack bar. Small lobby gets crowded during intermission and before and after, and the performers are usually at the merch tables for autographs and a quick chat. As far as ordering tickets(always reasonable), call the box office while looking at the seating chart online, if you can. You can order online, but not pick your seats. Box office will then call you to tell you what is available and get your card info. The Washington House is connected with the venue, on the corner. We’ve eaten there once and it was pretty good. A little Victorian stuffy which is a weird mix with the theater but very nice. Unless you get there early, forget about the lot next to theater. Parking is free everywhere and you can try to look for street or go to the bank about a block away. So intimate and terrific here, I almost wish I lived in Sellersville. Almost.
