Motion Picture Museum

This establishment is a joke and should be bulldozed to make way for a legitimate business. As others stated, it’s a trap. I’m a LOCAL and I was met with a rude «holier than thou» Jake that wanted to sell me tours. When I said no, he bypassed me and started harassing the kids with us about it. Hey Jake, how about you go on a two hundred dollar tourist trap with your family. I live here and absolutely know that the CRAP you sell is mostly BS. It says something about the MOTION PICTURE MUSEUM when the last movie to be filmed in Sedona was in 1983 according to their little sheet. Peddle that crap on someone from Phoenix. Oh and that condescending «thanks for your service» No one fought for you.

It was just a trap, all the representative was interested in doing was to sell us time shares.

Major, major tourist trap.
It’s a benefit to the stores of Sedona that this place is small and probably passed over by many, because if you walk into this single room ‘museum’ you will be aggressively sold a hotel/​dinner package for the Sedona Pines resort. These tactics will more than likely leave a bad taste in your mouth, even IF the package they hock is catch-​free.
When I say aggressively sold, I mean to the point where you have to tell the guy doing so ‘no thanks’ about 25 times and, even then, make a hasty exit because you are continually ignored. I surprisingly did not reach a breaking point even when insulted (albeit under a joking guise) by the individual who was trying to earn commission.
In this review, much like on the day, I remain civil, though I don’t believe the person deserves such a level of civility. I’ve nothing wrong with trying to do your job, but there’s a reasonable point for you to cease your act, and unfortunately at least one employee of Sedona Pines doesn’t understand this logic.
Like the old adage says, one bad apple can ruin the whole bunch. If you plan on visiting the museum, keep your guard up and do it later in the day, so that the slimy tactics within don’t sour your experience as a whole.
