My favorite place for a quiet hour or two or a weekend. There is always fresh coffee and cookie, almost always someone to talk with if you ask, or you can be totally anonymous. Great website now lists upcoming structured days of prayer, weekend retreats and longer. Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.

I went here for a weekend retreat with the Knights of Columbus. The grounds were beautiful and serene, the staff was helpful and polite, and the spiritual direction from Father Ed was superior. Our retreat was partially silent, and the extra time spent in silent prayer and reflection was heightened by the beautiful surroundings. I can’t wait until I get an opportunity to return.

For an unbelievable restful retreat and walk with God there are few better places than Sacred Heart. I’ve been going here 1−2x a year for a weekend retreat for the last few years. It always gets me centered back where I should be. For $ 90 a night you get 3 meals and a spiritual direction hour with a Jesuit priest. The priests also run directed group retreats that are on the website calendar. To me Sacred Heart is a blessing. I live maybe 30 min away but feel like I’m deep in the mountains. I get the kind of rest here that feels like I’ve been away 4 – 5 days not 2. You really can relax in quiet and reflect in the beautiful grounds. The building and chapel are very well kept and comfortable temperature. I can’t say enough good things about Sacred Heart. Every friend that I’ve told and who has visited is a returning guest. Nothing but blessed things to say about Sacred Heart. I’m glad they are in our midst in Douglas County!
