Now let me preface, I go here for the Mrs., she loves it, so I am mostly in observation mode. TJ Maxx has an excellent model — it is all about«the hunt for treasure» and it really does exist there. Super high turnover on merchandise, always refreshed with odds and ends. That’s what brings the crowd, the chance, the good chance, that you can find an amazing deal, an amazing value! Kudos to the model. And with Homegoods and Marshalls combo store right down the road, they have it figured out. The staff there move the line quickly, and it is always a long line, but don’t worry, it moves fast and there’s tons of interesting stuff to look at while you wait — a good ploy to get us to throw that little extra item into the cart or trigger our brain to say«hey, I need this or that right now!» The only thing they are really lacking is a better inventory system electronically, so if you find an item you love in the wrong size, you can simply look up in the system if they have the right size item, get it and get out. Or better yet, check other TJ Maxx’s around the area, or even Marshalls as they are the same owner. That one time you go in and find the most amazing jacket for $ 129(instead of $ 495 on — no joke) but it is one size too big, you think oh my god, am I really not getting this jacket? Can I stretch my arms? Should I buy it and get it altered? Should I hunt it down by driving around New Jersey for hours? NOOOO!!! Tip: Saturday’s are a mad house, but Thursday’s we think are the restocking days, so lots of new stuff in preparation for the weekend. Parking is easy, and there’s lots of other stores in this plaza in case you want to multitask. So come early, and get ready for the TREASUREHUNT!

This is THE go to place for high end clothing at a discounted price! Went today in search of a winter jacket that I saw at a high end retailer in the mall. Saw a great Marmot 700 fill down jacket but didn’t want to spend about $ 200 for it. I therefore browsed the online TJ Maxx store and saw the same jacket at a greatly discounted price that fit my budget. Proceeded to visit the local TJ Maxx where I found the same jacket and picked it up!!! There was one small issue with the jacket where a thread was sticking out and I was hesitant to buy it. As this was the last jacket in the store and I really wanted it, I decided to go to the customer service desk where I had the pleasure to be assist by Earnice. She not only fixed the problem, but also gave me an additional discount. She also told me if there were any further issues, I can always return it without a problem. There are a few things here I would like to point out regarding my experience which made it an enjoyable one. One could say that all retail stores should follow this particular model to make the customer experience delightful and wanting to come back for their next purchases. 1. The store had clear signs to guide me in the right location. 2. Plenty of staff around to assist and help. 3. Coat racks were not only organized by sections, but by sizes so it was easy for me to browse the«Large» selections. I didn’t have any major issues with wrong sizes put all over the place. 4. Earnice, the sales manager that assisted me, was receiving, attentive and very pleasant to speak to. She not only fixed the problem, but provided an amazing customer experience which I will always remember. For that alone, Thank You Earnice! Definitely will be coming back for additional purchases for great discounted prices that fit my budget.

Located just across from the huge Marshalls and Home Goods, this TJ Maxx is small by comparison. That makes it perfect for a quick in and out if you don’t have the time for Marshalls. Never mind the lines here tend not to be as long. And the parking is easy. Its also well picked over, as most stores in this area are. 3 stars, chain. I default chains to 3 stars, unless there’s a significant great or atrocious experience bumping them up or down. 1948

Very rude employees. I only come here bc Bergen County closed due to blue law on Sundays, and it’s easy to bring my dog around(albeit, mostly in his stroller). We walk around after brunching at Panera Bread and a visit to Marshalls/Home Goods. They always welcome my dog, but the TJ Maxx bitchy manager always has a problem with it. My dog is in a closed stroller, makes no noises, and if you use selling food as an excuse for not allowing pets, you’re ridiculous. The food here is inedible and absolutely disgusting– always half open containers and chip bags everywhere. Employees who hate life congregate here. I come by anyway on Sundays, but it doesn’t mean I like it. It’s just so I can spend some family time while walking.

Note that Marshalls, Homegoods and TJ Maxx are all owned by the same company. It doesn’t mean that you can buy something at Homegoods and return it to TJ Maxx but it does mean that you can buy a gift card at Marshalls and use it at either of the other two. In addition, their product mix tends to be very similar so if there’s a blouse you like at Marshalls, you very likely may see it at TJ Maxx. The great thing about this place is that it’s less frequented than its across-the-street Marshalls/Homegoods and so it’s less picked over and the lines tend to be more reasonable(note I didn’t say that they were reasonable, simply«more» so). Having said that, it does not have the«Homegoods» part and so if you’re looking for home furnishings, this isn’t the place for you. When I was looking for suit separates, I ended up buying a jacket across the road and coming here to find matching pants in my size.

The reason why this store is a 2 star is for men there is absolutely nothing here. No men’s shows or footwear. It does not cater to men at all. if you need cheap stuff for phone, cases, buds etc you are ok. other then that not conducive for guys.

Great TJ Maxx. Nice size and very very organized. Sales people are always around and super helpful. Checkout can be a drag at times but it’s not too horrible. Marmot, Gerry, Terramar, and Columbia are just some of the brands they have there for amazing prices. Great for backpacking and hiking. Wish I know years ago, would have saved a ton of money. Only problem– it seems the men’s dept gets smaller and smaller every time I go. Have Fun

This is a REAL store, with racks, organization and sales help. As soon as you walk in you see the department store feel and you can shop like a normal person not picking things up off the floor. There are area’s like children’s, woman’s, men’s, and my weakness… HANDBAGS !!! At last a real TJMAXX and I’m wearing my poncho feeling like I should be dancing on a table because it was a real shopping experience. Goodbye TJ I will return.

Can i rate Nothing… like a 0? This TJ Maxx is disgusting. Always messy, nothing in order, I feel they resell items that they find. Packages open… just disgusting. The employers are rude. I didn’t have a great experience. I went different times, same thing. TJ Maxx is great for bargains, but this store is very disorganized.

I feel like this location is meh! I love Homegoods/Marshall’s but I feel like this location is always messy and nothing is in order. I wish I could give this store a better rating.

Lines are CRAZY on weekends! It’s the same with Marshall’s and Homegoods. They usually keep it clean but I’ve been here a couple times where it’s not up to par with the cleanliness as in why is there a couple of xxl shirts in the medium section. They do have some pretty good bargains for athletic gear. The kitchen utensils are always all over the place. My girlfriend likes shopping here more than I do. I can care less but the TJ Maxx in Edgewater has better overall options from dress shirts, to toys, books, random stuff… There isn’t really anyone to help you except if you go to the cashier and they can probably call someone but so far every time I have been here it’s every man, woman, and child for themselves.

For men, TJ Maxx is far superior to Marshall’s. The dress shirt selection is much better here as well as the neck tie collection. Another area that TJ Maxx is dominant in is underwear and hosiery. The quality and quantity of their inventory is vast, not Burlington Coat Factory vast, but better than Marshall’s. Because this store is NOT located within Bergen County means that it will be open on Sunday. And that’s convenient during Christmas season. The lines are much shorter here too when compared to Marshall’s. Go here first…

Yet another discount store to adore within the Mill Creek Mall. If ya can’t find what you want at nearby Kohl’s or Marshalls, pop in here quick. It’s a fairly large store with tidy clearance racks; rarely do I see clothes off the hanger at this location, which I personally appreciate. If I ever leave here empty handed, it’s not because I couldn’t find something to buy, it’s because I wanted to get too much!
