Only found this diner nearing our visit end to Sebring. It is on the route to «historic Sebring» not on main US27. Food is plentiful and very good. Service was spot on and prompt! Tried both a lunch one day and early bird dinner 2 days later. More food than we could eat at one sitting! Fish dishes were EXCELLENT! Prices are average for this type of diner! I have already recommended this diner to 2 other couples before we left town. Every server had a smile !

Nice place, good menu… And they dont close at 3pm like that other place on 27 thats always closed… In fact this is the restaurant that should be on 27 ! Better food and they are actually open for business when you drive past.

This has always been one of our regular — reliable dining locations here in Sebring, however tonight — when we placed our order for dinner; the menu said the one dish came with«garlic bread». When the dish arrived there was a ¾ inch sliver of very thin garlic bread. It was a joke and we thought it was done in error! He asked the server if he could have an additional piece but was told there would be a charge. Finally after asking for the manager told us that they had just started adding garlic bread to the dish…“We’d only been offering the complimentary corn bread & rolls” before now”. Surprise! We were not even offered the complimentary corn bread or rolls. We mentioned that they shouldn’t even bother giving a thin ¾″ sliver of garlic bread at all. Know it’s tough customer feedback to swallow but hey, someone has to say it. As my husband finished up his dish the manager brought him 2 extra slivers of garlic bread and our server brought us a basket of 4 pcs of complimentary cornbread and rolls. Seems like even with it being«in season & busy» for this area unfortunately the Palm Diner is dropping their standards some. We gave it 4 stars because we LOVE their chocolate cake but otherwise it would have been 3 stars.

Likely the busiest restaurant in Sebring because folks recognize value when they see it and especially taste it! Expect home-style cooking at very reasonable prices. There is a private parking lot that gets very busy. You may need to drive around a bit. Once you are parked: the entrance is very nice, well maintained, and has some well thought out plantings. First impressions are well, impressive. The inside ATMOSPHERE is nothing special but hey, you’re here for the great food! It looks like a typical diner albeit a very big one. My dining partner and I experienced EXCEPTIONALCUSTOMERSERVICE! Our server, bus girl and hostess were all five stars. I was impressed! We were there for breakfast and the menu was massive and the SPECIALS menu was incredible. You can eat very well for around $ 5 not counting your drink. I ordered a spinach and cheese omelet with all the fixins for about $ 6 and that was not on the specials menu! My dining partner ordered the short stack of French Toast for $ 2.99. Are you kidding me! She especially appreciated the side of real butter instead of the ubiquitous mystery spread. We walked out stuffed with a great breakfast and still able to pay the mortgage. It doesn’t get much better than that!

We both ordered Mushroom Soup and it’s tasty with a lot of mushrooms! Cindy our server suggested the early bird special and it was great! Many entrees to pick from. Jeff ordered Grouper Franchisee with a HUGE baked potato and fresh carrots, he loved it along with his ordered Lemon Meringue Pie under $ 10. I ordered Spinach Pie which came with Greek Salad and Homemade Carrot Cake OMG good! All served with homemade cornbread and hot rolls. Cindy is super duper nice! I bill was only $ 27.00!!! Amazing! Most popular place in Sebring and one of the only places lol

Good fast diner food. Breakfast and lunch seem to be busier than dinner. Prices are good.

In response to the customer who complained about her bad experience because of her service dog not being allowed in, I would reply that I have seen several service dogs at The Palm in the past 3 years. They are known by most of the regular customers, all of the service staff, and I’ve never seen their owners asked to leave. I noticed a couple of other similar complaints, but they were posted on the same day or one day away from the original complaint. It would appear that the angry complainant had her friends post also. I strongly suspect there is more to the story than the one side you read. The Palm Diner’s owner, Dimitri, is always very conscious of handicapped folks and their dogs, and would never treat them as described by the writers of those reviews. Quite the opposite, from my observations over the past 3 years, in fact. I was seriously surprised to see such a complaint, and I respectfully submit the writer and her friends may have had other issues. This is a wildly popular local restaurant, and caters to all kinds of folks, including young, old, retirees, working people and the handicapped, some with their service dogs. They sure wouldn’t be doing the business they do if their customers were treated in the manner described by the complainant and her friends. I hope this evens the playing field. I couldn’t stand by quietly while a good person and friendly, family restaurant were bashed with such a heavy hand.

The manager/owner of this establishment needs to read the laws regarding service animals. They disallowed a service dog which is federally illegal. Discrimination at it’s worst!

This business needs to be informed on how to treat customers with service animals. Today my friend went in with her small chihuahua that is trained to alert when her husband’s insulin drops(diabetes). She was kicked out because she didn’t have a card showing proof. Under federal law that is not required and there are only two questions they are allowed to ask. The owner rudely created a scene and kicked them out. I would recommend that no one eats here until they learn how to treat people.

I had a positive experience at the Palm Diner for a weekday breakfast. The specials menu appealed to me — why pay $ 9 for something they’ll sell you for $ 6 — and so I went with the bacon and cheese omelet. As you’ll see from the picture, the omelet had plenty of bacon in it. The home fries were nicely cooked, not too light and not too dark. The rye toast was perfectly crunchy. Plenty of coffee too. Other than the nurse with her very old patient, I was probably the youngest person in here by a good ten years.

Ate here for lunch yesterday. Don’t waste your money. The food was terrible even without the hair I had in my food. The manager did not charge us for my food because of the hair but the food was in general the worst we have had in Sebring.

Visiting family and they took us there. Not much to look at but the food was good, decent portions and the early bird special was reasonably priced. The service was good.

First off — this place is nothing to look at. However, don’t let that fool you. The food is good and fairly inexpensive. When we visited, they were out of calamari(strike one) so we ordered the fried green tomatoes. I must admit, our expectations were low — so many places do fried green tomatoes badly, but these were nicely battered, light, hot, and wonderful. They were served with a cajun ranch dipping sauce. We were there early enough for the early bird dinner so I ordered the fish and chips. The New England Clam Chowder was thick and a bit on the salty side but it had a nice garlicky flavor. The fish was flounder and was light and crispy. The steak fries were hot and crisp and very tasty. My meal was supposed to come with homemade rice pudding at the end, but in hindsight, we forgot and I was too stuffed to eat it anyway.(Our waitress was not the most attentive or approachable, but several other servers checked on us and were lovely.) My partner ordered the chicken souvlaki which was tender and flavorful. We both had tasty, filling meals, with iced tea, for less than $ 25.

I have been here for breakfast and lunch. Their food is fresh and pretty decent. They serve my favorite biscuits and gravy over any other place in the area. You will hear that they serve breakfast all day, but let my experiences tell you to beware. The first time I tried to get breakfast after 11 they told me there was no gravy available. Okay, so I got lunch. The second time I called beforehand and asked the owner if they would have gravy after 11. He answered that they would because they serve breakfast all day. So we go… I get there and the waitress informs me yet again, no gravy. I explained how we had called beforehand to make sure. She walks away from the table and never comes back until our food arrives. What I received was not their normal gravy… To this day I still have no clue what it was. I asked to speak to the owner. We spoke and I informed him about my last two trips for breakfast after 11. He didn’t make us pay for anything and was very pleasant and apologetic. So the warning to all my Unilocalers! Do not go here for breakfast after 11.

I was staying at the historic Kenilworth Lodge next door and stopped by this restaurant out of hunger more than curiosity. Seeing they had a Greek Omelet, eggs and feta cheese, compelled me to order that dish that no one can get wrong. And it was good. My iced tea and omelet brought my checkout to less than 8 dollars. I was less excited by the service and the near total lack of branding it represented. Regarding the service, I did not see the servers engaging the clientele in conversation anywhere. As far as branding, the place is very generic. It’s a wonderful property and the restaurateur in me would love to see this be a dual-brand with the little bar attached to it. Mexican bar and seafood dive? They call the restaurant the Palm Diner and the bar the Back Alley Bar. You can’t get more generic than that. All in all, expect nothing fancy. Just good food at reasonable prices.

The sign states«American Cuisine with a Greek Accent” — we were tired, we were hungry so we decided to give it a shot. So glad we did. We were in Sebring, Florida– a town 87 miles south of Orlando and 93 miles east of Tampa. When we searched Unilocal for a nearby eatery, the Lakeview Restaurant and Lounge popped up nearby but when we arrived we found the place was now called the Palm Diner. The menu is pretty straight forward as far as a typical diner goes, breakfast with eggs, pancakes and French toast, for lunch they serve sandwiches, burgers and salads, and dinner brings pasta, spinach pie, steaks and broiled seafood. There is also a small appetizer menu and since we were hungry we started with the Bruschetta(this will shock you if you read The Hungry Sprout on a regular basis as we never order the Bruschetta– OK– just kidding– we get the Bruschetta everywhere we go.) The Bruschetta was pretty good. The tomatoes and onions were blended well with some garlic and basil. It was served quickly, so quickly that I immediately had to wonder if it had just been sitting back there in a container for days just waiting for someone to order it– but if it was it sure didn’t taste like it. It tasted fresh and really delicious. For lunch I decided to tap into the«Greek accent» side of the diner and ordered the grilled chicken souvlaki. A chicken souvlaki is always pretty basic– grilled chicken, onions, lettuce and tomatoes. What can make or break the perfect souvlaki is the tzatziki sauce. I personally do not think anything can have too much of this yogurt, cucumber, lemon and dill sauce. I LOVED the tzatziki sauce at the Palm Diner. I love that the souvlaki sandwich is usually always so messy. The Palm Diner quite possibly has pulled off one of the best souvlaki sandwiches ever. Chad took the more traditional diner approach. He ordered the tuna melt. If you absolutely must have relish in your tuna than you will not like this sandwich. However, if you are like Chad and myself who prefer pickles on the side than you will love this sandwich. Often places try to complicate the most simple of recipes, but the Palm Diner kept it pretty down to Earth– just tuna salad, cheese and a slice of tomato. The atmosphere is pretty standard for a diner. Plain. Ordinary. Out of style. However, if you judge this book by its cover you will miss out on a great meal. Four sprouts out of five. While the food was standard but outstanding, the place could use a little décor update.
