If you are a store/restaurant it’s wonderful to be a legend for something good. On the other hand, if you are a legend for something bad, it can be terrible! Read on. Put a 100 people in a room and mention HOMEDEPOT and CUSTOMERSERVICE in the same sentence and watch everyone’s nose wrinkle in disgust. These folks wouldn’t know good customer service if it bit them in the ass. It takes forever to find anyone and then they give you the dreaded«Not my department» line. They offer to find someone but it never happens. It’s an exercise in frustration. need some help putting something in your car, ha! Put those same 100 folks back in the room and say HOMEDEPOT and VARIETY and PRICES in the same sentence. Everyone will say«Yup, yup. yup, great variety and prices.» That’s how they maintain three stars. You can almost always count on finding what you need at a fair price. I’ll keep coming back for the variety and price but these folks have a lot of work to go to be a legend in a good way.

Customer service gentleman was hardly customer service. I was there with my daughter to purchase an item too big/heavy to lift myself. He completed the transaction and told me to «hang around» the item and someone(I did not catch the name) would be by to help shortly. 20 min pass and my 8 yr old is ready to start climbing the shelves. I return to the customer service desk only to get a sigh and a «hang on, let me get a cart». He tells the next woman at the service desk to «please hold on a moment», gets the cart and reluctantly proceeds down the aisle. After holding the cart while he fumbles with the box, he tells me to go get my vehicle. I do, but then he is no where to be seen. I wait by my car by the exit door for 6 or 7 min(event though it does not take that long to walk 100 feet) and nothing. So I got my daughter, went in again and found him assisting others at the service desk. Really?! You can’t take 3 more min to finish assisting me or call someone to lift it into the back of my car? I ended up taking the cart myself and lifting it on my own. Fortunately a nice customer exiting had the courtesy to assist. Poor multi-tasker or just lazy.
