Wonder is my all-time favorite place to get Ethiopian food! The food is fresh and delicious! I love the veggie combo and the zilzil tibs — both are so good! The portions are very generous and it’s a great place to bring friends. It’s a great place to go and watch a Seahawks game and enjoy great food. The place has a nice atmosphere, and I will definitely come back again and again!

I have eaten at a number of different Ethiopian restaurants in Seattle and Wonder is by far my favorite. The food is always fresh. One of the things I appreciate most about Wonder is you can tell that they use quality ingredients. Also, the food is never too oily– something that I have encountered at other Ethiopian restaurants, even very good ones. My favorite thing to order at Wonder is the vegetarian combo platter– although the meat combo platter is also very good.

I want to give Wonder Coffee and Sports 6 stars. Ethiopian food is one of my favorite«international» cuisine and Wonder has the best I’ve ever had in Seattle. Amazing. I will be coming here so many more times.

Best Ethiopian food I have had! SO delicious! And the portions are huge– I had the vegetable platter and it was 4 meals worth of food; literally 4 meals– I ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner the next day there was so much and it was so good! Besides the food, which is reason enough to go, the staff is super friendly. Upon finding out that I was vegan, our server let me know about the other options available on the menu. We were cheerfully greeted by the entire staff as we came in and when we left. The atmosphere is def. more sports bar like than traditional Ethiopian restaurants– big projection, tvs, loud music, colorful lights etc., but I liked it. It felt like an upscale sports bar. They have a full bar and a few beers on tap, but the beer prices were a bit high for compared to most sports bars. But, that is my only complaint, which is pretty small when you consider how much food you get for the price! We will def. be coming back often!

This place is great! We came with two young kids. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. We will definitely be back. We had the spicy salmon and the collard greens.

The group I came in with had never had Ethiopian food before so this is why I decided to take them to wonder sports bar. The best service I ever have had in a Ethiopian restaurant. I was sited very quickly and the waitress recommended us to try the Ethiopian beer, they had a lager/Amber/stout and we drank all three of them. The Amber was my favorite. We left it up to our waitress to order our food… The food was unique/colorful and beautiful. But the taste was amazing, tasteful and very filling. She explained what everything was on our plates. Lamb/beef/chicken veggies and one beef entire came out sizzling… Forget the fork dive in with your hands. Fun fun!!! We was very very satisfied, and stuffed!

I actually had to come back to this restaurant for the scone time and couldn’t be happier with the service and the food was delicious to say the least. I had the veggie combo, tibs and kitfo and it was amazing.

If you love Ethiopian food and sports bars with lots of leather furniture this is your spot. The food is always awesome. Usually I get the vegetarian combo but I’ve had the meat combo and it’s good too. Also, the waitress is nice and there’s lots of free street parking. They open at noon so don’t show up at 11:45!

Wonder is an awesome Ethiopian restaurant with great Ethiopian food, good location and an amazing service. I have tried a few items from the menu: Kitfo and Awaze Tibs are my favorite — yes, I’m a carnivore :). It’s a place to be if you like great Ethiopian food and a wonderful service.

We have walked by this place a bunch of times and today decided to go here to watch the Seahawks Game. Had a great time! The wait staff were all attentive, friendly and prompt, the food was delicious!!! We had Doro Wot and a vegetarian appetizer roll, both were excellent. We are Ethiopian food experts and let me tell you this was high quality and super fresh. Prices were reasonable, beer list was good! The atmosphere was a lot of fun — it was packed with happy football fans from the neighborhood. Fortunately, the place was staffed appropriately for the crowd. We plan to go back for the next game!

Total hidden gem. Who would have thought that an Ethiopian sports bar would work, but it does. The food goes great with beer. And the place has a chill vibe. I’m a big fan.

I accidentally ended up in this place when I was on a business trip in Seattle but ended up returning for a second round before I left city. Great and authentic ethiopian food that I remember from the motherland. We ordered the meat combo, Kitfo and Tibs which was delicious. They also have Ethiopian beer which I was very happy to get after a long time. Very cozy atmosphere, not your typical sports bar if that’s the only thing you are looking for, but they do have ‘bar foods’ such as burgers and the usual snacks. Most of all, the service was amazing! They were very fast, nice and very friendly. One of our colleagues was late and they were very nice about waiting for us and also giving us a bigger table once he arrived. The owner also came and asked us if the food/service was good and if we needed anything else. As a fellow Ethiopian who has been to quite a few Ethiopian restaurants in the U.S., I highly recommend this place!

Food is good but a little pricey. The ambience is nice. I get my food in a timely fashion, but they’re a little Greek about delivering the check. They don’t seem to mind when I go to the counter to pay. They could be more generous with the napkins. Not all of us can eat with out hands without making a total mess :)

Horrible service, bad food and dangerously overpriced. $ 6 well drinks, and we only had shots. Ended up spending too much and feeling cheated. I don’t think that I would ever come back here again. I would rather get food from the market across the street.

This place makes you feel like an Ex-Pat in your own city. Excellent Ethiopian food, good beer, burgers and fries if you want them, and a very friendly staff. Yes, it’s not your typical sports bar, and that’s why it’s good.

Finally I got to visit this bar/restaurant. I had eaten their veggie combo before(in the form of takeout), but yesterday was my first time actually going in there to dine in. Unlike your typical sports bar, I thought the chairs looked pretty fancy(they were pretty comfortable to sit in too!). We ordered a veggie combo($ 13.99) and 2 sambusas($ 2.99 each). I really enjoyed their veggie combo(again). There were 7 different items on injera. None of them was that spicy(to me anyway), but everything I ate was quite delicious and flavourful. Sambusas were hot and filling. I really loved the dough. It was soft and slightly chewy on the inside and nice and crispy on the outside. It had tons of green lentils inside, and it can fill you up without greasing you out too much. I would like this restaurant to do well and keep serving awesome Ethiopian food. In fact, I hope they just give up on all the mediocre Western bar food/dessert and focus on Ethiopian menu items only…

Beware: This is not your typical sports bar. You may not realize this until you’re through the door, and then it becomes immediately obvious when you step inside and you hear the Barry Manilow playing and take a look at the menu, which is mostly Ethiopian cuisine. There are some elements of a sports bar here — beer on tap, burgers. But they suck. The beer on tap is flat, so you’re better off with a bottle. We didn’t try the burgers, but the nachos were horrendous. Another reviewer basically nailed it. Cheap chips with velveeta on top and some tomatoes. The fries are decent. There’s an Ethiopian«tibs» sandwich on a hoagie that is decent. But that’s about it for bar food. The Ethiopian food is okay, but given that this place is only a block away from the amazing Chef Café, it’s not worth coming here if you want Ethiopian food. The vegetarian combo here is twice the price of the one at Chef Café and half as good. Given that this place is neither a decent sports bar nor a good Ethiopian restaurant given the others in the area, we won’t be back even though we live just up the street.

This place is unique and really different concept, but definitely not for everyone. Ruby is the lady that will probably greet you when arriving — she’s one of the owners. The service is great and there were only a few people when we went there this Sunday afternoon. We ordered the Ethiopian veggie plate(and it’s so funny that everyone appears to also have ordered that). This dish features a bit of everything from the veggie menu, so this is where we started. Their beer selection is decent: Alaskan, Elysian, Kona… They offer a full bar with some interesting scotch selections. The main dining area has nice chairs and looks like a sit down place, rather than a sports bar. This is for the stage area when they have live music on Sat. Yet, it has large TV screens everywhere. The bar’s inlaid tabletop is way too nice for a sports bar IMHO. Ruby mentioned that it was custom-made. And yet again, with all of these touches, the menus seem like someone really didn’t think about the impression they give off(e.g., misspellings, etc). Wonderbar is a place of contradictions. I decided to give Wonderbar a 4 because I live 2 blocks from here and I like Ethiopian food and beer, so I’m a fan. If you decide to go here, please do yourself the favor of ordering off the Ethiopian menu and grab a beer so you can enjoy the soccer. Wonderbar is probably the only Ethiopian sports bar in WA(maybe one of a handful in the US?) And like Cheeky, the Korean American comfort food place a block away, it’s quirky and different.

I want to like this place, as food was tasty and service was nice — everyone, the server, the bartender, even the chef, checked in on us at least once. But their image is confusing. Coffee, sports bar, ethiopian food, a half of a sportscar in the dining room… The location is good and I think that they have an excellent chance, but… It’s just confusing. They are also nice in that I asked for a drinks menu, and they said they could make anything I wanted! I got a nice mimosa, which came in a white wine glass with a little ice. It was very refreshing with my lentil dish, the name of which I unfortunately forget. If you’re not into beef & lamb, ask for the vegetarian menu! And in the salad, you had better like spicy — my lettuce came with a black pepper viniagrette, long thin slices of white onions, and chunks of what I thought were bell pepper but I’m pretty sure were actually jalapeño! I loved it, but beware :)

Not bad, but not great. Came by when it wasn’t busy, around 6:30 on a Wednesday evening with no major game on. It wasn’t busy, there were a few people at the bar and one other filled table, but the waitress seemed disinterested. We weren’t given utensils and were only given napkins well after our appetizer had already been served, and we waited a long time on refills. The menu is weird. It looks like a hastily-printed list, with no descriptions for the menu items and no beverage list. The cheeseburgers had mayo on them, which never bothered me but my husband doesn’t like it. They cooked him a new burger very quickly without giving us any trouble about it. The fries were pretty good, just the right combination of non-greasy fried deliciousness, but the burgers were lacking. They were probably frozen patties. Which is fine, I guess, just unimpressive. The ambiance is pretty nice. I like how the place is decorated, all dark browns and stark whites. It’s a little weird to see tablecloths in a sports bar. There’s a stage area, which gives me hope for live entertainment in the future. I’m looking forward to trying out the beer list. This place is also open late, a welcome thing in this neighborhood. This bumps it from two stars to three in my book. I think it’ll be a pretty good place eventually. I went in again when it wasn’t busy and ordered a hot toddy. They didn’t know how to make it, which isn’t that weird because it’s sort of an old-timey drink. I explained and they didn’t have honey. Okay, not that weird. But they also didn’t have simple syrup, which is a major thing for bars. It’s a hot drink so you can just use sugar, but it seemed weird that they wouldn’t have simple syrup on hand.
