Wild Orchid is our«go to» treat night out when we don’t feel like cooking(we average 2 – 4 times per month and always eat in.) We love Wild Orchid as its like going to someone’s kitchen thanks to the hospitality of Diane. She is warm, welcoming and so good at recommending tasty dishes we often close the menus and let her order for us(even our 9 year old son!) By the way, we are gluten free and are thrilled they can accommodate us with so many delicious options. Our favorites include: fresh rolls, crispy prawns, cashew chicken, spicy beef salad, red curry with squash and beef, ginger, veggie and black mushroom stir fry, green curry, rice noodle dishes, and so on! I am pretty sure they create custom dishes sometimes based on what we like and what is fresh — just ask Diane! I read the other reviews with bad experiences and am baffled as we have very high standards and experience consistent, high quality. Maybe the difference is eating in vs. delivery. PS — the desserts are really delicious and not too bad for you. We love fried bananas with ice cream or the mango and black rice.

Worst place to try Thai food. Never had this bad. We ordered like 5 dishes and 2 Thai tea. Only thing we liked was the water. Should have checked Unilocal before trying

This was edible… but will never order again. The pad Thai came in a Chinese take out box with no fresh sprouts or veggie. The salad was just shredded romaine with shrimp. It was quick.

I ordered delivery and it was on time and warm. The pad thai was tasty. The egg rolls looked tempting, but were undercooked on the inside, and the breading on the vegetables was flavorless. I’m sorry to say, overall this meal wouldn’t tempt me to order again.

Best Thai in the hood! I usually get the green curry with eggplant and brown rice! Delicious, fresh and fast! Excellent service!

I have often eaten at the Thai place on the corner of 15th ave and 65th ave for lunch. However, for dinner I wanted to splurge as I had friends over so we ordered from the Wild Orchid. Beware of this place. Granted perhaps they just had a bad night as it was a Sunday night perhaps they didn’t have their A team on, but the food was literally bad enough that we threw away more than ½ of it. Makes me want my $ 8 tip back from the delivery guy. 1. Pad Thai was incredibly salty. The amount of fish sauce was over powering. Considering that’s one of my favorite ingredients to cook with and make marinades from, that’s saying a lot when I find it strong. The prawns were perfectly cooked tho’ so we had the prawns as an appetizer and threw away the Pad Thai. 2. The green curry was listed as eggplant and chicken. There was exactly ONE piece of eggplant in the entire curry. Very disappointing as we would have added a side order of vegetables had we known. We ordered a medium and the spice level was good but unfortunately there was no other flavor. Bland and lack lustre. 3. The basil chicken stir fry should have been a dry stir fry but was came drenched in sauces. 4. We had 3 people so I was advised to get 2 sticky rice, so I did. The sticky rice went straight into the garbage. It was SO overcooked and glutinous that we literally could not separate it from it’s big block inside the container. 5. No receipt anywhere in sight. Not to mention no menus for future orders and no cutlery or napkins?! I’m quite annoyed because not over did I waste over $ 50, but we ended up having to order in pizza and waiting an additional 45 minutes to eat after throwing out ½ the food. I guess we should have started with a dine-in lunch or something first. SO annoyed that we gave this place a chance. Horrible.

Ordered the calamari appetizer, came quick and was delicious– with fried broccoli, onion and cauliflour. Tasty! Brought home pad Kai himaphan– cashew chicken spice number 2 with white rice, and it was very, very good! Will return!

We live in the neighborhood and wanted to try a new thai restaurant. We ordered take out on a Friday night. Asked for vegetarian fresh rolls and they came with shrimp and the worst peanut sauce we have ever tasted. Then ordered curry– low quality chicken, horrible flavor, and ingredients not listed on the menu. We also had cashew chicken– the sauce tasted like fish and the chicken was inedible. We threw everything away, wasted $ 35 and had to make popcorn for dinner. Very very disappointing.

We are always happy with the food here and the excellent service takes it over the top. If you really want the best dishes, listen to the kind and friendly hostess — she has a gift for sussing out what you’re craving and recommending something awesome. We love the pad ap woonsen and the mee krob, and the black rice dessert.

Food was 2 hours and 15 min late. No apology or anything and dry greasy food. Never again! Unprofessional and gross

After moving to Greenwood from the Capitol Hill area, we spent a long time looking for a good Thai takeout place that met our standards for freshness and consistency. I’m glad to say that the search is over! They offer generous portion sizes, fresh food that packs a punch in the flavour department, and really great customer service. On both occasions that we have ordered food from them, we have been met with kindness and gratefulness that they have our business. We will be sure to continue ordering from Wild Orchid, and if you’re in the area, you should definitely check them out!

We’ve been on the hunt for a solid Thai spot that fit our tastebuds. I enjoy Thai overall but this was definitely an agreed first choice in trying 5 different Thai restaurants thus far. We started with the Fresh rolls and they were exactly just that. Fresh and light, we really enjoyed them! I had the Massuman Curry which had potatoes and beef. It was delicious. My husband hates your traditional curry and I think we may have found his«gateway curry» as he surprisingly enjoyed a few tastes. I stole a few bites off of my husband’s Thai Fried Rice and it was a solid 4 stars. Did it knock our socks off? Mmm nah, but it was solid and we will definitely make our way back.

Accidently ordered a large takeout order from this Wild Ginger instead of Tacoma due to misgoogling on my phone. Called to cancel order 15 minutes later after realizing my mistake and they were more kind and gracious than I deserved! Blown away by their kindness. Thank you!

We’ve ordered from Wild Orchid a few times, as we live nearby. Generally, we’ve been quite pleased — the soups are excellent and flavorful, the pad thai tasty, and the salad quite good. Tonight was an unfortunate exception. The tom yum khai soup was bland, with undercooked, tough mushrooms, the pad thai with beef was decidedly off, and the thai beef salad was inedible. The beef was so tough that it was almost impossible to chew, the dressing was barely there. Disappointed — we won’t order from here again!

Delicious flavors and quick, friendly delivery. It had been awhile since I ordered delivery from Wild Orchid, and I’m glad I did tonight. I tend to like my Thai food spicy, so I ordered my Pad King and Tom Yum three out of four stars. This was definitely spicy! I’ll definitely go down to two next time, since I had more than enough reasonable heat. The Pad King was delicious, and I loved the variety of mushrooms in the Tom Yum. The egg rolls were plentiful and delicious. I really want to give it four stars, but I’ll save that for my next order — just to make sure I order, and get, the spicing right. :)

I have tried about 10 different dishes at Wild Orchid and pretty much all their dishes were very good! The one dish that stood out was Nam Mou(their crispy rice pork salad), which is a street food dish in Thailand and is a dish that isn’t typically offered at most Thai restaurants here. I love their Nam Mou dish here so much that I was so inspired and even made an attempt to make it on my own. Overall, the dishes were very good. I wish they have more customers(since the place isn’t really located in high foot traffic area) so that I can be sure they will continue to have good business. The business owners were friendly. Wouldn’t mind stopping by this place again!

Came here on a recommendation from a friend. Great thai place. The staff seem to know the regulars and stay connected to them. We had the fresh roll appetizer which was very filling. The roll was stuffed with mint, cucumber, carrots, shrimp, and chocken. It was served with the best sweet tangy sauce ever! I cannot pronounce the main dish i had but it was #29. Red curry with coconut milk, bamboo shoots, peas, and chicken. My coworker enjoyed the cashew chicken and informed me it was delicious. A glass of white wine to compliment the meal topped it off great. Will definately be back next time I am in town.

In search of something new, a friend and I ventured to Wild Orchid. While it’s in the Ballard area, it’s a little out of the way for me, which makes me less likely to return. If it were closer, I’m sure they would be seeing a lot more of me. Our server was very friendly and attentive even though she seemed to be working the tables by herself and setting up for a large party. My phad thai was better than average. It was flavorful and packed the right amount of spice. My friend enjoyed his seafood heavy dish. The prices were reasonable, the food was good, the service was great, but the location is a deterrent.
