Going to the DOL is infinitely worse than getting a cavity filled at the dentist, so my 4-​star rating means that while definitely sucking, it’s on the lesser/​bearable side of suckage.
While this DOL was busy and slow, it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. The parking lot was full and so I knew it would be chaotic inside. When you first walk in, instead of just getting a number and waiting your turn, there is a woman at a desk that checks you in and gives you a ticket number and forms to fill out they are specific to what you are getting done.
My wait just to get my number was about 20 minutes, and then once I got my number I waited 40 more minutes I think. Time kind of disappears when you are in a big room full of chairs with people that don’t speak English… At least the bathrooms were easily accessible!
If there were wifi I wouldn’t dread the DOL. At all. Just a thought.

No one likes to go to the DMV but this DMV is top notch. By far the best DMV experience of my life. The reason for my visit was to swap my Texas DL for a Washington DL; I pre-​applied online which the receptionist really appreciated.
Note: There is a ‘wait time estimator’ on their website which will give you some indication of how busy they are.

–They charge a fee for paying by card. Debit cards incur a $ 2 fee and credit cards incur a fee based on the price (e.g. $ 2 for a purchase up to $ 50).

I came here for renewal expecting a long wait, but boy, was I wrong! It took me only 20 minutes! The guy who worked there was quick and fast, very polite, and friendly.
