Honestly, it wasn’t THAT bad. For one night visiting Seattle, the other reviews aren’t fair. Although I figure that the room WAS overpriced($ 80 for one night) for the quality and location, our experience wasn’t nearly as awful as the previous reviews. Checking in was fairly easy the woman who checked us in was kind, and there wasn’t traffic noise which we found surprising considering its right alongside a highway. Our room was spacious with a giant window(room 36) and quiet and it didn’t smell like cigarettes. However, we were frustrated that there weren’t any towels or soap literally anywhere in our room, there was a very nice microwave and mini fridge as well as a floor length mirror and a standard wall mounted TV. The bed was hard and really springy at the same time, our overall experience though wasn’t terrible. I do believe the other reviews are outdated and unfair.

I can vouch for Aaron and his staff for taking on what seemed to be the impossible in turning that property around. I have been in motel management for 14 years now, in fact I once worked at The Seattle Motor that also once was affiliated with previous owners of The Wallingford Inn, and after a year I decided to quit from there as it was only getting to be a very bad situation for The Wallingford Inn, Fremont Inn, and Seattle Motor. I mostly enjoy marketing for any motel/hotel that I previous worked for, and when I was not able to market to the right type of market for each of those hotels and/or for example when I did get any type of Church groups for example to stay there it made my expertise in marketing very and extremely hard, so once again I am very happy to hear that Aaron and his crew has corrected of what looked like an impossible undertaking and turning it around for not only the guests of The Wallingford Inn, but also for the immediate area of The Fremont area of Seattle, and when at times I travel through the Aurora Avenue area, I can see from the outside of the positive changes Aaron and his crew has made to that property. I have never even met Aaron and his new staff there at The Wallingford Inn, but I do look at reviews, and view what I see when traveling by there, and I encourage folks to give this property a new view of things, and then you will be wonderfully surprised of the changes that have happened there now. also please keep in mind that some of the old reviews were in tact when the previous owners were running the show and/or when Aaron and his staff were in the process of turning this property around… –Marcus–

Our room was supposed to be non-smoking but was clearly a smoking room. The manager said that it was out of their control and they don’t seem to check. We also had a bunch of people upstairs who were talking and running around all night; since the ceilings were apparently paper-thin, it was pretty loud. There are not many good things about this motel: one is that it is on bus lines 46 and 358 which take you to the U district and downtown, respectively. Another one is that the room we had was fairly large.

I’ve been told Kurt Cobain bought heroin here — nice to know some historical landmarks have retained their original character. Also a great place for aspiring entrepreneurs to learn the latest stable-management techniques employed by contemporary pimps. You don’t even have to get out of bed to hear every detail.(Tip: be aware that if you give in to your 4am disturbed-sleep-rage-fueled urge to tell them to STFU you can expect, at best, an offer of «a brick in your shit.») Oh, and not to worry about the homeless-looking guy with the duct-taped bamboo staff — he’s the«security guard.»

I’d give them zero stars if I could. Their clientèle seems to mostly consist of prostitutes, and I once saw a girl peeing on the side of it. There are domestic disturbances in the early hours of the morning, and cops called to the place often. There’s often garbage in the surrounding street, even used condoms and wrappers. It’s gross, and the place is a danger to the neighborhood.

This hotel is the reason for the whores that constantly roam the streets outside my house, the condom wrappers the constantly blow in my front yard(but at least they are using protection), the loud domestic disputes at 4a.m. and the cops that are always circling the neighborhood late at night. As mentioned by David C — SHUTTHISDUMPDOWN!
