Yesterday we bought a sausage and a wrap of some kind(coconut wrapped in green leaves) — both out of the warming unit. We took them home, microwaved them, and my husband ate them. He then spent the entire night with severe abdominal pains and violently throwing up. This morning he is still violently sick; no fever, no body aches, just severe abdominal pain and throwing up. He obviously got food poisoning, and since those items were the only things he ate, it clearly came from there. You have been warned.

Great food. The teriyaki chicken is nice and meaty and isn’t dry. I didn’t get to the store until almost closing time and brought home a nice warm meal. Great selection of other frozen fish and items. There are only a few places that carry these types of items and it’s great to have one so close to me.

This place is neat, though I am not Polynesian and don’t feel it would be fair to judge the food since this was my first time having it and can’t compare it to any other Polynesian food in this case Samoan food. However I can say it’s a neat place, they have traditional Samoan attire and snack foods that are from Samoa such as bongos, and UFOs, which were ok, different but good. The service is great the owners are very welcoming and sweet. One item I liked there was this circular cookie, it looks like a flower and would pair perfectly with tea. The setup is odd they charge you by the weight of the food and it can be pricey. Furthermore if you enjoy corned beef, this is the place to go, they sell it in massive cans!!! I mean massssssiivvveee! I’d definitely recommend this place to be visited at least once, it’s interesting.

I love this place… My hubby was waiting for me at his job. Thought I was dropping off his food there. This place is over priced but oh so worth it. They have the best cucumber kimchee that is smackin. And they have a variety of Samoan food that is too die for. Unfortunately the prices are so high. I spent $ 232.00 on about 14 food items… but it’s definitely worth every penny.

Brought my wife here all the way from Bremerton she is from American Samoa and she was like a kid in a candy store. Nice little store.

Did you know that we have a Korean-owned Polynesian store? Well, we sure do. Even though it’s called the Vegetable Bin, there aren’t too many vegetables here, but you CAN get frozen whole octopus, giant boxes of Sky Crackers, ENORMOUS cans of coconut milk(I didn’t know coconut milk could come in those giant restaurant-sized tomato can sizes? O_o), bulk soy sauce(Aloha!) and cases of Vienna Sausages. I liked eating those out of the can when I was little. You can also get coconut water here pretty cheap, but it has sugar added to it. The deli has all kinds of interesting foods: pale sausages, coconut sauce everything and my FAVORITE manapua! Manapua is the island version of hom bow, and theirs is made with poultry! YAY! They also have coconut bread and some sunflower-looking pastry as well. I may have to try it when I allow a little gluten back in my life :) They also carry kimchee here, and it appears they make their own. I have some at home already but I’m definitely curious to see if theirs is any good. I’ll be back and update!

If you need a gallon size can of corned beef to go along with a variety of different soy sauces, including a wide variety of Aloha Shoyu, then you have found the place to be. They have a grocery section that has staples for Polynesian cooking like the aforementioned soy sauce and meats like ox tail. They also have a deli section with hot foods and some pastry/desserts. They were pretty cleaned out of the deli by the time we got there in the late afternoon, but I want to go back earlier in the day and see what they have to offer. It smelled great.

This place is pretty convenient for me but I really only come here for one thing and that’s the corned beef in the deli. They have lamb and a bunch of Polynesian food I haven’t been brave enough to try but it’s basically just a Polynesian 7eleven.

Coconut juice 17-ish oz cans for a freaking dollar. Mm. So convenient next to the Rainier Beach LR Station.

I just noticed the address is wrong. It’s at 8825 Martin Luther King Jr Way. it’s just a hop, skip and a jump from the Link Light Rail Rainier Beach Station.
