Treehouse

I love everything about this organization. I came here during work as a team community event for a couple of hours. It’s an organization that makes sure that foster children have everything that they need — it’s different from some other organizations in that it really takes a LOT of time to sort through the donated items to make sure that the pieces available are on trend.
During back-​to-​school time, they have items such as backpacks, school supplies, etc. and they do a really great job of making the store look clean and not like they have to rummage around trying to find something somewhat decent. This place has really strict guidelines around what it keeps which is really awesome.
I can’t wait to come back here for future community events.

Treehouse is an organization that makes a difference for children in foster care, I really feel like I am doing good when I volunteer at Treehouse. Treehouse does not simply ensure that Foster Kids have the basics, they do what they can to help kids integrate into society and blend in, they way that they should. I was helping stock the free store, a store that is set up for the Foster Kids to shop at no cost, and was impressed that they felt the kids should not just settle for basic clothing. We sorted through donations and more than half of the items were donated back to Goodwill. Treehouse is very picky about the items placed in the store, they must look new and unworn and be TRENDY. Foster kids do not have to settle for out of date, worn hand me downs. This warms my heart! They also have jewelry, scarves and handbags for girls so that the girls can blend in with their peers at school. They have toys, shoes, books, accessories, school supplies and many basics that kids need.
Treehouse has a goal that every kid in foster care becomes a high school graduate. They have coaches and advocates who make a plan with the kids and make sure they stay on track. There is a Treehouse program called Little Wishes that provides funds so that Foster Kids can participate in sports, music, dance and clubs, as well as school activities.
Treehouse makes a difference!

I did a day of volunteering at Treehouse about a year and a half ago. It was a great experience and Treehouse is an amazing organization. The staff are incredibly dedicated and passionate about what they do. Treehouse offers many services to help foster kids have a more stable and normal life. From tutoring and college preparation, to school supplies and clothing, to after school care and summer activities, Treehouse improves the lives of thousands of foster kids and helps meets economic needs that foster parents sometimes cannot.
Like most nonprofits, Treehouse can always use help. My (former) workplace ran a clothing drive and then a group of about 10 of us sorted and tagged clothes for the Wearhouse. It was a fulfilling and heartwarming day of service. I would not hesitate to recommend the services this organization provides or suggest it as a nonprofit worthy of your support. I love the innovation and heart that Treehouse creates for its kids. Treehouse does one thing — serves the foster care population in Washington State. The stat’s about children are endless and I won’t quote them for you — but these kids need help and love. Treehouse tackles this by attempting to create normalcy for their youth — summer camp, music lessons, those «extras» that really aren’t that each kid needs to succeed.
