This was an okay establishment. We went a couple of days before Christmas. The owner was rude to us, but the waitress really made up for it. They closed on 12⁄31 so the owner could move to France.

I did a pre Seahawks game breakfast here and I’m glad I did. Searching for a quiet place to eat breakfast before the game I just kept walking to avoid the jammed sports bars and came upon Mitchelli Trattoria. It was half full and fairly quiet as I ordered at the bar. Mediterranean eggs and Bloody Marys. Both good choices. I’ll be back to try it for dinner.

I am a fan overall… That would be fair to say. but I am a bit biased as I lived at the OK Hotel which is about a block away. It used to be 2x the size and was always open very late. The bartenders were always cool and you could sit with a coffee or beer and work on your computer, read the paper, make friends or you could sit in the restaurant and have a comfy, cozy dinner. The food is traditional Italian/American food. Pastas and a few chicken dishes(Picatta, Marsala, Parmesan) and wood fired pizzas. Decent wine list and a full bar rounds it out pretty well. Service is seasoned, but a bit jaded. My suspicion is that management is not the easiest to deal with! If you are looking for a good, old school Italian place, try it out. But, if you are looking for a good, elusive Cannoli in this city… look elsewhere! ;)

We sort of found this place by accident, while looking for a parking place. We are so glad we spotted the«Gelatoria» sign. However, we didn’t end up having any gelato! Our dinners were great. I had a great Salmon Chowder, tasty cheese bread, a giant«side» salad, and a delicious pineapple upside down cake. My wife had fabulous mussels in white wine sauce followed by a sumptuous canoli. She summarized her meal with the statement«As good as any I’ve had outside of Italy». The tiramisu was also fantastic.

We stopped in here upon a friend’s recommendation. A last minute need for dinner… NOW. and a restroom. heh. The place was quite empty, only about 4 parties occupying the space around 9.30p on a Friday night. We were a bit skeptical. The bartender directed us to the foyer area where a server met us and led us to a booth. The menu offered primarily pastas and pizzas, so that’s what we ordered. A pizza bianco — Olive oil base, carmelized onion, garlic, prosciutto, with basil. The ravioli had fig, bleu cheese, rosemary, and toasted pine nuts. The ravioli was TODIEFOR. So good! Light, flavorful, just the right amount of food. Stuffed just right with cheese and fig. Mmmmm. The pizza was a thin, puffy crust with the perfect amount of toppings(so the pizza wasn’t soggy or too bready). Service was great, there was the one guy and he checked in on regular intervals. The entrees were each about $ 14. Totally reasonable for such amazing flavor. Wow. We will definitely go back(even though getting to Pioneer Square is a PITA and finding parking is even worse). I’m already looking forward to our return. :)

Unfortunately for me I had the worse experience at this restaurant. I think they had one waiter on a Friday night. After waiting for about 10 minutes for water after being seated, it took another 10 minutes to take our order, then we were told they ran out of bread. So when we finally got our food, I was already not expecting anything amazing… it was at best so-so for the price. I’m sure their happy hour would’ve been great but my recent visit puts this place on the«never go back» list.

It’s hard to find a brunch place in Pioneer Square that’s open as early as 9am. Mitchellis’ was a great find, our entire table of 10 loved their breakfast — the«Eggs Alla Mama» was a hit — Grilled polenta, prosciutto, poached eggs, marinara and parmesan for just $ 8.25 I certainly hope they don’t close soon as I can’t wait to go back and try some more!

I have been coming here since I was a wee girl… I love the butternut ravioli, mushroom ragu and clam linguine just to name a few! But now, NOW, I love the happy hour! I’m sorry but you simply cannot beat $ 1 pizza! Andy by Pizza they mean more of a flat bread with tasty toppings– not greasy, yes! Seriously good food at a reasonable price, comfortable atmosphere. You can’t go wrong– unless you eat too much!

Stopped in out of a desire to go somewhere we haven’t been, just to see what would turn up. It was a Saturday night(OK the Sounders were playing) but at 7:30pm were were the only ones dining. Menu is a rather typical for American-Italian, with pastas, lasagna, and pizzas as well as chicken parmesan & piccata. The non-pasta entrees are a bit limited. Wife & I both got pasta bolognese, which we were surprised to see served as penne(no mention on the menu). And yet it worked — the pasta and sauce matched well, the pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente and the sauce had good body & flavor. Service was decent, even if the server was a little weird. If I were in Pioneer Square and wanting dinner I’d be happy enough to go back, but it’s not exactly a destination in and of itself.

I haven’t eaten here in several years, but I always found the food to be decent if not thrilling. Entrees were $ 12 – 15 and there were some vegetarian options. What was thrilling and great about the place was that it was open until 4am on Friday & Saturday, so it was one of the few places where you could have a real meal after the club closed. Unfortunately, they’ve now changed their hours and their website says that they are only open until 11pm on the weekend and most nights close at 9pm. Without that unusual aspect to recommend the restaurant, there’s nothing else that stands out about this place.

I’m kind of stuck between 1 and 2 stars. I mean, I’m not sick and I wasn’t spit on, which is what I usually reserve 1 star reviews for. But in general, this place just sucked. They are seriously understaffed. Two waiters for the entire restaurant, and one of the waiters was also the host. We had to wait entirely too long to be seated. And then they clearly didn’t care to come back over to our table to help us unless we really flagged them down — and I don’t mean the«can you come over here?» look — I mean we needed to resort to a «hey!» or we would have been ignored. Besides the service, the food was seriously lackluster — my chicken parm was pretty bad, the Parmesan cheese had a weird orange-y tint to it. They also were advertising cannoli for dessert, but were out of it. At a pretty early hour, too. Oops! Forgot to mention: Our bread didn’t come until our food came, and my friend’s wine came in a regular glass cup, not a wine class. She described it as looking like a yartzeit candle holder.

They serve martinis until 1:59am on Friday and Saturday. Need I say more? I love this place. Granted you have to finish your drink by 2 am — just like any other place — but they are open til 4 am any way so they dont rush you out the door! I am usually on my way to catch the 2:10 ferry to bainbridge — or — I missed it. Friday and Saturday nights they are open til 4 and serve food til then. The food is good, some of it is great. I have had breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night food there. There is always something exceptional on the menu. The staff couldnt be any nicer and the atmosphere is pleasant. Its been there as long as I can remember. My mom used to put me on the ferry, call over to the trattoria and order 2 dozen scones. I would walk off the ferry, pick up the scones and walk back on the ferry and bring them home for brunch. They are that good.

Usually I’m not the type of person who orders salad at an Italian restaurant, but for lunch I had a huge bowl of pasta and pasta twice in one day is not how I roll. The salad I had was the Mediterranean Steak Salad and it was pretty good, but it was MASSIVE. In contrast, all my friends ordered pasta dishes which were very tiny. So after they quickly finished their meals in like two seconds, they got to sit around and watch me eat for the next fifteen minutes. Come’on Mitchelli, pasta is cheap, servings should be generous! Anyway, my overall experience here was pretty nice and I’d say the best part was probably the pistachio ice cream and not getting charged for my second glass of wine.

This place was an awesome late night dinning fun option! We had a waiter who teased and laughed with us for hours. There was a problem with our order and he took it off our bill. Flipping great. And I had a good a salad and a steamed ALMONDMILK!!! This excited me very much. It only gets four stars because its not great food but sometimes all you need is a cheap late night after-party that is a better than Dick’s and Denny’s.

Sitting at the bar, happily enjoying $ 2.75 happy hour lemon drops, someone asked«Didn’t this used to be called Trattoria Mitchelli?» I said«Si, si…» and then the owner came walking by speaking Italian with that look that can be interpreted as either, 1) this person knows Italian and I can speak with her, or 2) this person is full of shit and I’m gonna show her up. Go with number 2. And yes, this used to be Mitchelli with the Trattoria in front, not trailing behind, and this used to be a hip dining spot. It’s still cool, but I mean hip in a Belltown way. No, really. You think 20 years is a long time? Just because I used to frequent this place when some of you were in diapers? Now I’m depressed. Luckily, the cure is happy hour at Mitchelli with 2 lemon drops, an apple martini and 2 surprisingly good mini pizzas, all for $ 10.25. Really. The prices are a throwback to my youthful heyday. Gotta love it. The Mediterranean veggie pizza and the Margherita are both good and only cost a dollar when you order a drink. The bar is a long, narrow space, kind of hard for a group to socialize, but somehow we managed. Give a Unilocaler enough martinis and anything can happen. *Update — the regular food is still good too and the dining ambience still fabulous, even if it isn’t considered«hip». It’s an old world trattoria and very clean and I love it. The Italian french toast is soaked in vanilla rum batter and coated with cereal and baked and is amazing. The spinach frittata is so good and light. The potatoes tasted like clams though. Not so good.

These guys make some good quality Italian food for a reasonable price for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are always consistent and that’s why I go back. It’s also a great place to hit for happy hour. $ 2.75 martinis and beer along with $ 1 personal sized pizzas will keep my allegiance. Oh, my poor, poor liver.

The perfect place to meet and drink before the ArtWalk. $ 2.75 martini and you can pick from regular martini or the more girlie ones like cosmopolitans, lemon drops or apple martini. The apple was yummy and a little too easy to drink down. The pizza’s for a $ 1.00 were good, note this is coming from the girl who doesn’t care too much for pizza. A great happy hour spot for day of the week. They have more than just happy hour they also have a wonderful Cesar salad and some great pasta dishes on the menu but if you’re on a budget and looking for some cheap eats and drinks stop by during happy hour and you’ll be able to satisfy both.

Open until 4:00AM on Fridays and Saturdays. The special late night menu includes everything you could possibly be craving after a solid night out on the town — breakfast, pizza, and pasta. Yum! I believe everything on the menu contains cheese. Clearly I would drunk dial Mitchelli. Not that I would regret the call in the morning, but I know it’s really only one of those things I do when I’m drinking, you know like smoke*, or other wanton activities that shall not be mentioned. The traditional breakfast lunch and dinner menu is solid if not surprising. They have recently undergone a renovation and in the process dropped the«Trattoria» from their name. I don’t think any of this will affect the food so it’s not that important. Try going with and without food beer goggles and judge for yourself. Mitchelli’s is by far one of the better late night dining options in Seattle. *For illustrative purposes only, I don’t really smoke, ew!
