Im not much for sports bars but I thought I’d give this place a try. Everything seemed decent until the bartender came up to us and started talking. She talked to my friend and I in a tone that most people talk to little kids or dogs. When she talked to men, she talked in a normal voice. Her tone with us was quite annoying as if she was dumbing us down. The food was over seasoned. Will probably never be back due to the bartender.

People have detailed the thoughtful way the TV’s are labeled letting you know what games will be on when and where you should set up to watch them. They’ve covered the excellent staff. I’ll touch on the the tremendous quality and value of the food and drink menus. They«only» have around 12 beer taps, but they make up for it by rotating excellent examples of each beer style they’re featuring. Bartender/co-owner Paul Ritums makes some of the best craft cocktails in the city and can match a drink to anyone’s taste. The food is kick-ass upscale pub food, and each menu item is priced below where you’d expect it, while tasting even better than the drool-worthy image your brain comes up with when reading the description. And the weekend brunch is one of the best kept secrets in Seattle. Is this a great sports bar? Absolutely. Is it a great neighborhood hangout? No question. Will the ghost pepper cheese on the Westy Burger burn like hell? Oh yeah – and you’ll keep coming back for more! Please just leave me a space at the bar!

Super tasty! We were impressed with how big the place was! Plenty of tvs and a great place to watch the game. Food was great. Burgers were tasty. It’s great to have a sports bar like this so close to our place. We will definitely be returning!

Supposedly this was the place to go, but I definitely had some issues here. My main issue was eating a hunk of wax paper that I found in my burrito. I realize I’m not going to die from it, but it definitely grossed me out and I lost my appetite. The potatoes that came in the burrito and as a side I felt were super greasy and overly salted, and I like a lot of salt! I also tried the fried pickles and they had quite a bit of breading on them, not what I like. I do have to say it’s a nice clean place, with a good atmosphere. I just can’t give it high marks because of these issues. I would be willing to try it again though, in hopes I’ll have a better experience next time.

The Westy is something special. It is difficult to find a place that has such a great combination of drinks, food and service. There is a reason that 90 percent of the patronage are locals and/or regulars and it stays consistently busy. The food is excellent and well priced for the quality, food specials change every couple of days and there is always a good soup. The tap menu changes often so there are always new beers and ciders to try. Paul and JP(owners) are genius mad scientists when it comes to great cocktails. Fun, friendly, delicious, what more could you want?

They do take out! Yes it is a bar and yes you have to be 21… but for those of us in the neighborhood with kids… it is a great option for those nights you do not want to cook. And the food is delicious! It has quickly became our go to and my daughter is a huge fan of the fried pickles.

After reading the reviews, decided to give this place a try. Just moved into neighborhood and needed to find a spot to watch the Seahawks game. The Westy is awesome. A lot of TV’s is an understatement, every seat had a view of the game and with sound as well. The waitresses were fast and friendly, the food was good as well and the drinks were strong. Really enjoyed it the experience and atmosphere and will definitely be coming back to The Westy for feature games.

Ok 4.75 stars only because it’s a little stuffy in there air flow could be better. That being said, I stumbled in here today after doing some laundry. Happy hour time about 4pm. They have a 5 $ burger that’s amazing. The best burger I’ve had in awhile. We also split the warm, bacon, spinach salad.(Not on happy hour) 7 $. Classic old school cocktails. The bartender was super informed and knew what was up! I even asked her the name of the bakery because the bun was one of the best I’ve ever shoved in my mouth. And she knew the name. All brand new HDTV’s everywhere, Cool local sports bar. Forgot to take pics of the food. Sorry.

This is the most fun I have had watching a Seahawks game ever– EVARRRR!!! This is the best sports bar in West Seattle I have encountered, and it’s definitely worth your while to try it. Things that make it awesome: 1) TV layout, 2) drink selection, 3) food 1) TV layout. They have each TV labeled on Sundays to let you know what games will be showing on what TVs. I really appreciate that so you can plan where to see to see what you want to see. Of course most games have the Seahawks game(as is appropriate), but you can really plan your table to make sure everyone can experience the utmost viewing pleasure. 2) Drink selection. Very impressive. The bar does a great job with mixed drinks and has affordable game day options. However, they have a unique selection of cider and beer, which allows you to mix it up. The prices are very reasonable. too. 3) Food. This place has the best Irish nachos I have had. They’re waffle fries with generous toppings. The burger is also fantastic. Many elements are home made, and everything I ordered was very flavorful. Add these elements onto a great crowd, and you’re in for a good time at the Westy!

So many screens, so many screens! I had heard good things about the Westy way back, but I had not tried it until recently. Best parts: very, very, very, very many screens, drinks, HH menu, staff! Let me elaborate. I love their screen set-up. They have these dry-erase signs on each TV that let you know what exactly will be playing on the TVs throughout the entire bar. It is great for when you go for a certain game. Last week, I went for the Seahawks game, and me and the wife managed to snag sweet seats at the bar with great TV views about 30 min before the game thanks to the signs. Okay, so the drinks – they have a good variety, and the servers have a good knowledge of what would be good based on your preferences. Did i mention they have cocktails on tap??? I had something with Jameson, and it was amazing and excellent. The HH menu is very decent(they even label gluten-free options for you), and the menu is in the afternoon and at late-night(which is my favorite kind of HH prices!!!). As for the staff, I had most amazing experience with a server. I was hanging out with some friends and were talking about 90s songs. So, of course, this prompted an impromptu 90s sing-off; our server came over and joined in on our Boyz 2 Men rendition of «I’ll make love you to». Oh yes, I am dating myself. Final verdict: I will be back – again, and again(hopefully!!!)

This is my 3rd time here. The 1st time was not great– service was great but I don’t recommend the Irish Nachos because they were horrible. The 2nd time was great! Service and food both. This time was also great. I had the Mac-n-Cheese, side Caesar Salad and Mexican Egg rolls(this was a Chef’s Special). To drink I had a Hot Toddy. Mac-n-Cheese was amazing and plentiful for the appetizer size. You can tell it’s handmade and not some freezer or boxed stuff. Side Caesar salad was very good also well & evening dressed without being over dressed. They didn’t skimp on the parmesan cheese :) Croutons were hearty and held up to the dressing too. Only thing with the dressing was it had a lot of fresh garlic. Gave the salad a bite there was so much. The Mexican Egg rolls were delicious! My Hot Toddy was really good too. They make them with a fresh Cinnamon stick and Cloves. I have never had that way before and frankly I don’t know if I could go without now. Such a hearty earthy flavor.

Alright, this place is pretty darn awesome! Food was good, crowd is good, and tons of TVs? — AWESOME! HH til 6 is also a plus. Ordered the Irish Nachos, chicken wings, and their burger. The Irish Nachos can improve. I do really like that they give a good size glob of guac! My favorite here was their wings! Super delicious, seasoned well, amd crispy! Yes. CRISPY! Didn’t need to dip the ranch either because it already had tons of flavour!(The 2 sticks o carrrots can use some sweetness improvement.) This item was totally worth it for 5 buckuroos! The burger was also a good size and was not overcooked. hate that it costs 75c for cheese, always find that bogus! But I gotta have my cheese so I forked it out. Beers, can’t really go wrong with those. I also got a cocktail(Velvet Revolver); sounded delicious, but was way too bitter for me personally, and for it being $ 9, should’ve just stuck with the beers. Besides parking being a tad bit annoying(street) this place is pretty solid!

Amazing place! I always have driven by and wanted to go in. Well I finally made it to watch a Seahawks game here and I am blown away by the service and cool menu! They have been so attentive to us! We never had an empty glass or were without food during our visit. The atmosphere was like watching the end of an episode of «Bar Rescue» after the rescue, but trust me this place won’t need to be rescued! If you are a West Seattleite don’t judge this place for being on 35th!!! It’s well worth coming to time and time again. I can’t wait to check out happy hour!

Disclaimer: This review is purely for the amazing broccoli at this place. It’s so consistently a pleasure in my mouth that it deserves a solitary review. Consistent quality for top-notch food at a pub is a rare find anyway, let alone for a cruciferous vegetable. It’s always tender-crisp and with a copious amount of garlic to make sure any vampire will give you wide berth for the rest of the night. The citrus tang and chili pepper zing also make me swoon. Meanwhile, for someone who disdains both TV and sports, this place requires some forbearance(and a few martinis to soften the offensive nature of there being almost as many TVs as there are tables). But, my love for the broccoli overcomes it all.

I’ve pretty much moved into The Westy. I moved into the neighborhood about six months ago, and I’m so happy that the only two bar/restaurants in the area are very, very good. I almost always sit at the bar, and the bar staff is uniformly great. Attentive, willing to have a conversation if it’s not too busy and you’re in the mood to talk, and they give straight-up opinions on the food. The Westy has an excellent cocktail program — I strongly urge you to try their tap cocktails. It’s a clever way to get consistency from otherwise complicated drinks. While I don’t drink beer anymore, I do know enough to say that they’re careful about the brewers they source from, but also have one mass-market beer on tap for folks whose tastes lean that way. I do wish they had more than one cider on tap, but you can’t ask for everything. Their food is really good, and they easily accommodate people like me who are skipping certain things for health reasons. I really like their happy hour menu, and the seared broccoli(always on the menu) is made of pure awesome. It’s also the least bro-ey sports bar I’ve ever been to. The place was totally jammed for the Women’s World Cup. Plus, my wife says she feels very comfortable there — rare for a sports bar. There are also enough TVs to show a variety of events, and they’re generally accommodating if someone really wants to see something. They’ll also always put the sound on for the biggest event currently running. They also never do PPV events, so there’s never a cover. In a nutshell, I love the place and I hope they do gangbuster business, but not so much that I can’t get a seat at the bar.

I’ve been here a handful of times and held off on writing a review as it felt like they were going through some initial opening pains. Their menu wasn’t quite right, their service was still working out their kinks, but the place had promise. And, for the most part, it’s met that promise. The feel and vibe they’re going for is a more upscale sports bar and neighborhood tavern. The cocktail program is quite good, including the ever popular barrel aged cocktails and cocktails on tap. Last time my wife and I were there, one of the tap cocktails was a planter’s punch, which was quite tasty, and perfect with the small burst of heat we had in Seattle this past weekend. The food also reflects this, as it’s trying to be more upscale pub food. They do an Asian inspired broccoli that is quite tasty, has a nice little kick, and serves as a great appetizer. The staff is extremely friendly. They all seem personally invested in the location(in fact, you’ll often see the owners working the bar). The cocktail program is one of the better ones I’ve seen in West Seattle. On the whole, I’m a fan!

Stopped by The Westy for a snack and a drink. The beer is cold, the Skee ball is a blast and the seared broccoli is amazing. The staff is friendly and there are plenty of TVs if you like to keep tabs on your favorite team. Great music selection too! The only thing I can recommend is get better signage on the roof or visible from the street of you drive by its quite possible you will miss it. I’ll definitely be back!
