I’m not sure why I keep coming here. Perhaps because the location is convenient. The service here is always terrible. My boyfriend and I came in on a Friday night and he politely approached someone who worked there and asked if we’re allowed to sit on the couches and order drinks(we didn’t know the drill) she was so obnoxiously rude to him and she looked at him like that was the stupidest question she’s heard. I’m sorry, we were just inquiring and trying to be considerate guests. Once he turned his back, she rolled her eyes at him. Now, my boyfriend and I both in the industry and we get it. So with that being said, I feel like we’re more understanding of situations. But damn, we did nothing to deserve blatant rude behavior. She didn’t smile the entire time she was serving us. Fake it girl. None of us like working on the weekends.

Great happy hour spot and reasonably priced food. I like that it’s pretty mellow and the serves have always been friendly and helpful. They have couches in the front which is always a win to me. I wish they have a few more cocktail options that were a little more light and refreshing besides just the super boozy fireside belly warming ones but great place.

Hmmmmm… it was a saturday night about 8:30PM, it was full, minus the tables that had reservation signs on them. We sat in the back at the pub tables. Not very comfortable. Food is appetizer like, and ok, not that great. good but not great. drinks were good, again good, but nothing special. we left feeling like eh. Heard good things but…

The Sitting Room is a safe-haven for creatives & couples looking to sink-in and relax into an evening of unique and classic libations, carefully selected on-taps & bottles, and a selection of made-to-order food to keep your belly full, heart warm, and tongue happy!(The menu has something for everyone, without being overwhelming and with many vegetarian & gluten-free options.) This is the type of place you want to sit in for hours and talk to all the beautiful souls passing through. The bartenders are fun & friendly, the waiters attentive, and the hosts will make sure your visit is special, whether it’s your first or four-hundredth time through the door. A perfect place to sit & chat after getting inspired at the On The Boards theatre upstairs.(Things can get pretty wild on show nights!) Most times the atmosphere is perfect for conversations & sharing sweet moments. We all Love this Seattle institution! Can’t wait to visit again soon! Thank you for keeping this gem fresh & cool!

Nice enough drinks menu, listed for reasonable-ish prices. Food was tasty but a bit less of a good value. Space in general is very cute and cozy, but only about a quarter of the seating really had the fun vibe, and it was all ‘reserved’, so boring bar/tables for the rest of us. Bathrooms seemed clean enough. Crowd on a Friday night started off fairly neighbourly and friendly, but got a bit more Belltown-ish as the night wore on. Service was very average, except for getting the cheque, which took quite a while. Was overcharged by $ 2, but couldn’t be bothered to ask for a correction, lest it take another 20 minutes to fix.

While I was visiting Seattle one of my friends insisted upon taking me to the sitting room. He had visited about a year or two ago during his last trip and raved about the place however unfortunately the food/drink quality and service has apparently gone significantly downhill… We went around 6pm on a not so busy Tuesday evening following the labor day weekend. There were at most 6 other tables of 2 – 3 people with a majority of tables empty. The server did not seem interested at all in helping us from the start. After a few minutes of sitting he came over to take our order. My friend inquired about the selection of gin available, the server had no idea and didn’t bother to take the initiative to walk 10 feet to the bartender to ask. We also inquired about a couple other drinks but the server was once again clueless. Because of this we decided to look over the menu once more and decide what we wanted. My friend ended up settling on water because of the lack of knowledge and assistance from the server. The server came back and we placed our orders for drinks and snacks for the four of us. One item we ordered was the sliders which we were excited to try however about 10 minutes after placing the order we were told they only had enough ingredients to make one order. My friend was now drinking water and had no food… He chose another item, the salami and cheese plate. About 20 minutes later we received the food items. Everyone in my party received what they ordered except my friend who had to wait another 15 minutes for his salami and cheese because they ran out of what he wanted and took so long before letting us know. This was A very long wait time considering the ingredients are all prepared in advanced and no cooking was required. This confused us considerably. I also asked about of of the items ingredients citing a Food allergy. The server did not know and said he would check. He never returned. This is a huge problem when someone SPECIFICALLYASKSFORFOODALLERGYINFORMATION and the server doesn’t even bother. It’s also a liability on the business. Now that we had our drinks and food we thought the worst was over with. We chatted and snacked over the next hour. The food was decent for tapas however I was surprised that much of the items we ordered were store bought such as the kettle brand chips and the ginger beer that we paid $ 5 was labeled«trader joes»(trader joes grocery sells them a 6pack for about the same amount). The rest of our food, The assortment of cheese, salami and dips/spreadables were tasty, some being on the salty side, but I thought that they paired with our drinks none the less. The entire time we were eating we were eating our server did not check up on us once. We were there for over an hour and were not offered a refill AT A BAR that makes its MONEYONDRINKSALES. This means that for over half an hour my glass sat empty. Eventually when he came over as we were nearing the end we asked for a water. The server walked off and did not ask anyone else at the table if they wanted another drink. We also had all of our empty dishes on the table that had been sitting there for a minimum of twenty minutes, which he did not clear at all as he walked away. We then waited to get our check. This took an additional 35 minutes. After about 20 minutes we tried to flag down our server but this was useless as he was far too busy chatting with the female bartender to notice anything. We also tried to flag down the bartender but this was also in vein. I raised my hand and attempted to flag the server and bartender down 4 times over an 8 minute window and neither of them noticed. Keep in mind that by this time it was about 8 o’clock and there were maybe 10 people inside including me and my four friends. It took so long to get the bill and after my attempts to get noticed, we almost started walked out without paying. It was that bad. In terms of cost, the prices were a little on the high side considering everything was pre-packed store bought however rates were otherwise nothing out of the ordinary for the area however I feel I paid far too much given the level of service and experience I received. The only positive quality during my visit: The atmosphere. It was calm, relaxing and the playlist of music was good. I will not return.

Overall this is a great little happy hour spot with many delicious drinks and nibbles. We partook in(probably) too many. The street parking is hardish, but there is a paid gravel lot across the street. Not a huge beer selection: Lucile, New Belgium, Stella, and a cider is all they had on draft. But I love Lucile so it’s great for me! The Sitting Room has a very pleasing menu, I want to come back off happy hour so I can try more(obviously I have to order happy hour menu items during happy hour, mama didn’t raise no fool). The happy hour olives, tapenade, cheeses, etc that we ordered were all great! The portion sizes were fairly good too. The service is fast, and there is a small patio by the sidewalk. In the summer it has great garage doors that open up the place a lot.

I’ve been to this place several times over the years, most recently for my birthday shindig, and have always had a wonderful experience! The service and is consistent, the managers check in with you and the bartenders know how to make a solid cocktail! This place does not have a large good menu, but their cheese plates and bourbon mousse dessert are very nosh-worthy. The atmosphere is also nice because it’s close to stuff(theaters, Seattle Center, Queen Anne) but set back one block from QA avenue so not nearly as crowded and crazy. Whenever I’m in the area and want to lounge while sipping on wine or a cocktail and actually hold a conversation with friends, I go here. Street parking is limited but there’s a paid lot across the street that’s cheap in the evenings.

This is a pretty good place to get a drink, especially considering the context and by context I mean lower Queen Anne. If Peso’s or Ozzie’s isn’t your thing, the Sitting Room is a nice alternative. I’ve always enjoyed everything I’ve had here: cocktails, snacks and desserts, everything’s been consistently good. I do wish they’d change their cocktail menu or offer some different specialty drinks once in a while, but that’s a small complaint, really. My only other small complaint is it can occasionally get pretty loud, louder than you would think by looking at the place, because it does have a certain amount of class, so well you know. All in all, though, a recommended spot to enjoy a few drinks with your special other or with a few friends, nice intimate atmosphere and good service.

Yesterday we went here for a coworkers going away happy hour. We got there right at five as they were opening. We had called ahead so they set us up with tables together. The happy hour selection was good! Since it was Wednesday the drink special was two dollars off bubbles but I decided to get a dirty Tito’s martini, which was well put together. Everyone had a drink and seemed to be content. We also ordered a bunch of happy hour menu items to share. The cheese plate, chips & dip(spicy honey mustard and a salmon mousse), Tapenade & Croccantini, roasted almonds, and the tartines. There are two different kinds of tartines to choose from and we got both. Both served on a French baguette topped with your choice of either: Bleu cheese, fig preserve and prosciutto or Garlic confit spread, roasted red peppers, arugula and Parmesan cheese. The prosciutto tartine was my absolute favorite thing out of all of these items. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I will definitely be back here! The atmosphere was relaxing and the prices were fair. Service was also perfect.

This place is just a few blocks from our apartment and I pass it everyday. It looks so nice and inviting and like its the perfect kind of Parisian care/bar that I want to make a regular hangout. It’s gorgeous. I’ve been there a few times now, different times of the evening and different days and I am sadly underwhelmed. Our first visit at happy hour was really nice. The food was good and the drinks were well made. The second time, the menu hadn’t changed and the service was entirely slow and not friendly. The third, the menu was still the same(over the period of a few months) and the place was dead empty. Now that we’ve been in the area over a year, it’s disappointing every time I look in and see how perfect and comfortable the place looks, and how sad and same the menu looks. Plus, the owner is always there, hovering over his staff and grimacing at, well everything. It’s a cute place that, sadly, needs some love and energy put into it to fully deliver.

This is one of my favorite places in the city of Seattle. It has such a relaxed but classy atmosphere, and the drinks are choice. Their happy hour is most definitely worth checking out. It’s not the place to come if you want a heavy meal, for but light food and drinks, this is worth it. The owner, Markus, is a super friendly guy who really does care about his business. It shows in the consistent quality of the service.

Happy Hour! One of the fewer places that I found that have happy hour open til 7PM(most close around 6PM) Pâté au Poivre Noir($ 7) — 5⁄5. Pork and chicken pâté served with baby pickles, mustard and onions. Absolutely delicious and one of the better pates that I’ve had :] Tapenade & Croccantini($ 4.50) — 4⁄5. Absolutely delicious if you love olives, it’s basically a bunch of olives, herbs and garlic run through a food processor. Spread on a rosemary cracker — yums. Tartine($ 7) — 3⁄5. Opted for the bleu cheese, fig preserves and prosciutto and it was delicious! The only downside was that the baguette was cut very thick(I’m used to thinner slices) and the proiscuitto was not spread across all the bread. Regardless, still delicious, just missing a bit on the presentation.

I think this place is certainly cute. The mixed drinks are tasty. The food is just average. I think you can for sure get something better for your money at a few local establishments. This is a great start or finish to your night drink wise.

This place has an awesome happy hour. I like that the happy hour is extended longer than other places. This gives me a chance to enjoy it after work without having to rush there. Great spot for light fare and drinks.

I think this is probably the best date spot in lower queen anne. It has cool cocktails, a nice wine selection and nice small bite style eats. I wouldn’t endorse coming here for a filling dinner, but a great place for drinks and light appetizers. Overall, has a really nice cozy, intimate atmosphere.

How long have I lived in Seattle and only been here now? This is an excellent drinks spot if you’re in the area and need quick fantastic drinks. A group of us popped in because we were hungry and ready to start our Saturday night. We quickly sat ourselves down in the front living room area by the front door and waited for a server to come to our aide, which she did. The food menu isn’t anything to write home about. This place is primarily for drinking and it is evident by their food menu. You’ll be able to have great urban LQA experience at The Sitting Room!

I am not sure that I have been to this neighborhood before — if I had, it was dark and I didn’t recognize anything. The neighborhood seemed really residential but then all of a sudden, there was the«blink and you might miss it» restaurant. However, this place is worth slowing down for. The restaurant is beautiful. The weather was nice and the front doors were open with patio seating. They have comfy booths or higher bar tables depending on the desired ambiance. Everyone working here was incredibly friendly and the service was very quick. While I can’t vouch for their food, they had a really great drink selection. All three of us had very different drinks — from scotch to white wine to beer. But all were good. I usually hate coming into the city because I HATE street parking but there were plenty of spots open on a Wednesday evening and a lot that you can pay for parking right behind. Super low-key place. And apparently there’s a happy hour here which is supposed to be very good. Can’t wait to come back!

We were staying in Queen Anne and decided to stop in here for a few hours on a Friday night and it wasn’t packed. Things you need to know: — Generous pours of wine — Order the chocolate mousse. Seriously, even if you’ve not eaten dinner or any appetizers. Just order the mousse, dammit.(My friends and I practically licked the bowl clean… it was heavenly. We contemplated ordering another, but we stopped ourselves. Wise move.) A little bit of A/C would be good… as it was quite stuffy when we visited. Ah, maybe the issue has been corrected by now. Despite that, I will definitely return the next time I’m in Seattle.

Tucked away off the main drag(Mercer), The Sitting Room provides a nice neighborhood place to unwind with a glass of wine and light snacks. Inside, the lighting is dimmed and the ambiance warm. During the summer they open up the front and offer a small number of outdoor tables. Service is hit or miss and sometimes can be slow or a bit aloof. Food is decent. The tartine with prosciutto is one of my favs. Pâté is very peppery. Bruschetta specials are decent. I prefer to order food if it’s happy hour as I’m not sure it is worth the full price. They have a good wine selection, and a carafe of their sangria is perfect to be shared with a friend on a hot summer day.
