Great selection of healthy and tasty sandwich toppings. A little on the pricy side for a sandwich, but I felt like it was worth it.

I ordered the Rajun Cajun(their best seller) and it is outstanding! Service was good and food came out quick. I must also commend the guy that took my order. He saw my ID(from KS) and just said I was«a long way from home», and did not go for the Dorothy/Oz/Not in KS anymore bit.

If you’re charging $ 10 for just a sandwich, it’d better be a damn good sandwich. Not the case at Other Coast, unfortunately. I came in a little before noon to avoid the lunch rush, only to still wait 15 min for my sandwich even though there were only 2 people in front of me(who had already ordered.) They seem to be understaffed here. I got the Rajun Cajun which is allegedly their best seller: Cajun turkey, pepper jack, tomato, onion, spicy mayo on a 7″ baguette. The flavor was ok, but they need to work on their meat slicing(waaay too thin, turns into a clump of meat) and maybe add some fresh lettuce to all of their sandwiches to prevent everything from becoming so SOGGY. After two bites, all of the ingredients became indistinguishable. Am I biting into a tomato or a piece of turkey? Who knows. Also, they charge anywhere between $ 0.30-$ 1.50 for add-ons like more veggies! Dumbbbb. Just stick to Subway y’all.

I really like this place. They are always very nice and make a great sandwich. I tried about 8 – 10 different and enjoyed them all. They thin slice the chicken sausage on the Diana and The Capitan ! It really makes the sandwich so good! The Meatball is very filling! The turkey and cheese is as it should be. I love the bread they use. They have lots of good drinks and some super draft beer. I hope they prosper here because i really like having them around! All the best!

RAJUNCAJUN! delicious, but the sandwich could definitely be a little bigger in size for the price you pay. it was my first time trying this spot, and I am for sure coming back to try the other stuff on the menu.

Third outpost of a favorite local sandwich chain. This spot in Lower Queen Anne has been a revolving door of restaurants, but I think OCC will survive. The sandwiches here that I’ve tried have all been really tasty. The Rajun Cajun is definitely a standout and justifiably their most popular sandwich. It’s not insanely spicy, but you definitely get some heat. The meatball sandwich is also quite delicious, and using turkey makes it far less heavy than your traditional beef balls. I’ve seen complaints about the prices, yes it’s more expensive here, but you get real bread and not stuff made with rubber tires. If you want a foot long of artificial ingredients for $ 6, go to Subway further down Mercer Street. Those of us who want quality ingredients will eat here at OCC.

When trying out a new sandwich place I always order the«Italian» sub. It gives me a good baseline to judge a place on and it should be relatively easy to get right. Fresh meat thinly sliced, veggies, cheese, and some light acidity to cut the richness of the fatty meat. I went with my gut and(ignoring my friends recommendations) and ordered The Mantooth(Dorothy Mantooth is a saint, how could I go wrong?) Unfortunately this sandwich missed several of the points I outlined above. The meat was thinly sliced, but it was packed together so tightly it became one large chewy mass. The veggies were fine, there for texture and freshness. The smoked mozzarella was great. The acidity was where it fell off the rails. Ultra acidic whole grain mustard on both sides of the bread, was enough to overwhelm everything else. But then pickled cherry peppers AND enough balsamic vinegar to drown and entire salad made the sandwich nearly inedible. I gave up on the bread less than halfway in. I guess it saved me some carbs. My buddies Rajun Cajun was tasty, but not enough to get me to come back. There is promise here, but take a minute to really read through the menu before jumping in.

Eek. Two 7″ subs and one bottled cream soda came to $ 24 and change. Pretty steep for what it is. That being said, the sandwiches were good. For vegetarians: This place is super veg-friendly as you can order ANY of the sandwiches with their homemade seitan! No need to stick to their as-is veggie options. We got the Ragun Cajun and the Detonator(the«spicier cousin» of the Rajun Cajun) both with no meat and seitan instead(making them vegetarian). While we both like spicy food, we preferred the Rajun Cajun because the tomatoes/onions made it more flavorful and juicy.

Have been to the Lower Queen Anne spot a couple of times now… Always AMAZING. They do a good job at serving up «east coast» flavor with a Seattle vibe. Music is jammin’ in a chill, diner vibe. The guys and gals are super chill and friendly and will recommend stuff when asked. You can’t go wrong with the Reuben on Rye, a pickle and some kettle chips. Equally as salivating inducing is the Rajun’ Cajun. They also serve cold brewed coffee. Not too pricey for Seattle standards. F**king DELICIOUS.

It’s okay. With the name, I guess I was expecting a true east coast hoagie. One of the best sandwiches I have had in Seattle, just wish they didn’t put a «NW» spin on most sandwiches.

Loved this place in Capitol Hill, love it in Queen Anne. I want to try everything but I’m too busy binging on the Rajun Cajun and the Veggin’ Heaven. God they’re good.

As a vegetarian, I am not super impressed by The Other Coast. I wanted to be! They’re right around the corner from my work and they have multiple vegetarian options(Score!), but the sandwich I had did not live up to the reviews on here. I got something called No Meat Please, which wasexactly what it sounds like – everything delicious one could put on a sandwich, but hold the meat. It had multiple types of cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, mayonnaise, and vinaigrette. All of this sounded good in theory and even looked pretty good in practice until I tried to eat it. My first major complaint was that all I could taste was the sweetness of balsamic. It was like a salad at Olive Garden from a new server whose still a little too excited about shaking up the salads in the back. Way, way, way too much balsamic. Once I got past the shock of that flavor, everything else was fine except that the way this sandwich was built made it damned near impossible to eat without losing 85% of the toppings. I know, it’s a sandwich, this is bound to happen to an extent, but in this case I assure you it was excessive. I could not take a single bite without having to rebuild the damn sandwich because it was suddenly just bread and lettuce. The cucumber, tomato, and cheese all slid out on the balsamic slip and slide and ended up on the paper. The sandwich was also kind of ridiculously expensive even for Seattle(With chips and tip, around $ 11 for a cold sandwich.) I could’ve gotten a similar sandwich around the corner at the Subway in the Armory for about the same price, and it would’ve been smaller, but likely more edible. I was hoping this price tag would be worth it because the sandwiches are just insanely huge and the ingredients are probably top notch, but at the end of the day I found myself wondering who in the world could ever consume a sandwich of these proportions. Are these things meant to be split? Why can’t I get a half sandwich? Many questions. No good answers. This was a disappointing sandwich experience. Sorry, Other Coast, but I will not be back.

I consider the Capitol Hill location to be one of my favorite sandwich shops. They opened this location close to my work and I was super excited. I had a great sandwich when they first opened. The salad I had today was just awful though. Half the lettuce was old, the avocado was a mushy inedible brown, and I only got a few measly pieces of chicken skin. Salad is so easy to prepare! For just under $ 10 there are much better options close by. I won’t be back for a while. Super disappointing.

Other Coast is probably my favorite sub shop in town. I was actually eating at the one in Ballard when I saw the ad for this one opening up in the Stranger. It was sandwichception! The ingredients are fresh and of a high quality, the bread is simple and delicious, and the staff is always friendly.

This is a great new addition to the fast-casual dining scene in LQA. They are located in the former Krua Thai Family Kitchen space between Ten Mercer and The Melting Pot. This is the third location of what is becoming a popular local sandwich spot. I’ll be honest and say I hadn’t heard of them until I saw an article about what was filling the vacant space, which got me super excited. Now I am happy to vouch for them because they have some solid sandwiches! They didn’t do too much to the interior of the space and quite frankly they didn’t need to. It’s a very modern open kitchen concept with high ceilings and a really cool spiral staircase near the back. The huge menuboard is very easy to read and has a soup of the day chalkboard sign on the right. The sandwiches though… I wasn’t ready for how good that Rajun Cajun was going to be. It’s a hot sandwich served on a 7″ baguette and is loaded with turkey, pepper jack cheese, tomato, onion, and spicy salsa mayo. Their menu says it’s their most popular seller and I can see why. They also have a spicier version of it called The Detonator, which I will try on my next visit. The Meatball Sub is loaded with 3 turkey meatballs, marinara, garlic butter, and melted provolone. The turkey meatballs are a nice lighter version compared to the often too heavy beef variety seen at most sandwich spots. If you’re hungry they have a 14″ option and if you’re eating light they also have a shortie option for $ 5. Happy hour from 5 – 7 pm offers half price cans of beer.

Great sandwiches. The Rajun Cajun is really good. Make sure you call ahead because they are really busy and they make the sandwich on the spot and can take up to 20 min to get your order.
