A nice 2-minute walk away from our Airbnb apartment. I was so glad we «settled» on this beautiful brunch spot in the city. Good call, instincts, good call ~ .or maybe it was merely an impatient appetite. Swedish Meatballs($ 8/$ 16) — with braised cabbage, pickled cranberry, and crème fraîche. Side of($ 9) — kale, fennel, apples, almonds, and spicy miso. I seldom stumble into«whoa» breakfast restaurants, especially ones I would go back to in a heartbeat. London Plane exceeded my expectations from the get-go. My bad for judging prematurely. That combo, recommended by our very pleasant waitress, was so good. The mixture of crunch from the apples and almonds, and I already love kale so that’s a given, dressed with that miso ~ mmm, oh. almost forgot about the main dish — meetah ballsss! So tender, and delicious, and comforting, with that hint of sweetness. Two thumbs way up!

London Plane is a quaint spot perfect for breakfast or even just a cup of coffee. We arrived on a Sunday morning for late brunch and there were plenty of seats available, which was a surprise to me since any place that serves breakfast in Sacramento is packed after 9am. We were sat upstairs along the railing so we could see everything on the first floor and even people(or dog) watch outside of the giant windows. The menu is pretty simple with elevated ingredients. I went with the sunchoke and chorizo hash with fried eggs and treviso. It was a flavorful dish but perhaps pricey at $ 16. I was much more impressed with my boyfriend’s Swedish meatball dish(the dill crème fraiche!) and the kale and apple spicy miso salad. I’d definitely recommend those dishes over the one that I ordered… those dishes alone bump this place up to 5 stars.
Service was great, food came out fast, and we were in and out of the place within 45 minutes. All of the pastries in the bakery case looked so tempting as we walked out, but I had to resist. They have a great location and there is plenty of scenery to see if you want to walk off your meal after!

I’ve been coming to the London Plane for a few years now. I have seasons where I’m here multiple times a week and times where I’m only able to come a few times a month, but every time I walk in it’s as if my life exhales a bit and everything seems easier, more care free and light. I’ve commented before on how I love the interior but I’ll say it again. The London Plane has a charming English Arboretum feel too it mixed with bright natural lighting and fresh country flora shop colors. Its truly one of my favorite places to be on a lazy morning. The menu it seems is always changing, always keeping things fresh. From homemade country jams that enrich and excite the pallet to soft boiled eggs and hot sourdough toast with tinges of vinegar and tart butter and sea salt. Fresh baked goods fill the front cases along with home made pickled vegetables, meats and roots. The deserts are light a fluffy along with the crème fraîche that comes along top. Pecan coconut granola delights the taste buds with an accompaniment of cool Meadow Sweet milks, créme’s and a choice of almond milk or Greek yogurt. The staff is eager and happy to serve and friendly yet graceful in their demeanor. All in all I love this place and will continue to come back. — Chef Justin

Really cute venue I hosted a meetup here. I think the food is a little bit over priced — for me I didn’t have anything freshly made yet it still costed me a lot just for the scooping actions. My girl friends had the cooked food and it was merely bite sized? — are you trying to keep us slim?

It’s really fancy place. One of the cutest cafes in Seattle area! When you enter the store you see pretty flowers on your left and yummy sweets on your right. There are café spaces on first floor and upstairs. I came here with my girl friend for breakfast at 11am. They are pretty full but luckily we can get a table downstairs. It could be better to make a reservation in advance. We shared 3 kinds of salads and a bisque for me and 4 slices of bread for my friend. I loved a bisque! It’s nice and warm, soft inside and just right saltiness. The salads were also good. Each salads has different taste and texture. The crust of bread was little crunchy but still good. We really enjoyed the food and time here. On top of that, the price point was actually reasonable! I definitely come back here again:)

Tea pot either spills all over the place or you burn your knuckles off. Orange juice was spoiled. The eggs and hash was two egg on-top of crunchy, cold potatoes(I think they were potatoes). $ 28 w/tip. I’m offended actually. When will I ever learn?

After going here this past weekend, this is hands down one of my favorite spots in Seattle! I went here for brunch with a friend and it was incredible. I had wanted to try this spot for a while and it did not disappoint. Even before you walk in there is some serious curb appeal: the classic navy front with the large windows that showcase all the people enjoying the fare inside and the flowers that are in the entrance just beckon you to come in. We shared plates and ordered: brussel sprouts w/sweet potato and coconut, black beans w/cojita cheese, pork shoulder and eggs, a brioche bun, avocado toast and a caramel/almond cake and of course mimosas! The brussel sprouts were room temperature and perfectly cooked, the coconut added a nice meatiness to the dish and the sweet potatoes made it more filling. The black bean dish with the pork and eggs had some pickled red onion on the top that helped cut through the richness of the beans and pork. When I asked the waitress what what the most popular or go to item, she said the avocado toast. The avocado was creamy and had some spices in it to make the flavor more complex on top of their bread, which was a little close to being burned. It was adorned with cabbage and radish, which I think were picked which went well with the creamy avocado. The apple brioche bun and the caramel/almond cake was described by the waitress as rich, yet light, oxymoron right? I thought so too, however, somehow these two desserts were exactly that! The best thing about The London Plane is how the food and the space use simple ingredients/décor that are of high quality to create a complex experience. Time for me to try dinner there next!

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner with some old friends on Sat nite at The London Plane! When our friends flew in from SF and told us they had made dinner reservations at The London Plane(apparently they had friends recommending it from a recent visit), I thought«isn’t that a bakery/flower shop»?? I knew I’d passed by it on several occasions after attending Seahawks games. «Are you sure they serve dinner?», I asked. Well they do and it’s delicious! Plus the lighted trees in Occidental Square through the floor-to-ceiling windows add a touch of sparkle and romance to the already beautifully charming décor. The menu is brief, but there are choices for any palette. I believe the menu is ever changing, but we enjoyed the deviled eggs, bread with 3 spreads, cheese platter, kale/apple/miso vegetable dish, brisket(wow!), roast chicken, etc. Topped off with gâteau basque for dessert – divine! Our server was very attentive and knowledgable as well. I highly recommend The London Plane for dinner with friends or date night. Make a later reservation to allow time for a pre-meal craft cocktail at one of the other new-ish spots nearby: bar Sajor, Good Bar, or The Pharmacy. Thanks to our outta-town friends for getting us there to finally check it out! I will definitely come back for brunch sometime.

If you are doing the first Thursday art walk London Plane makes a great starting or ending point to grab food after a long night of walking or fuel up in after a long day of work in anticipation of a long day of work. The space is beautiful. High ceilings, well decorated, plenty of space inside. It’s not for people watching as much as it is for admiring the interior. As for the food I will run down the latest visit which was on the night of a first Thursday art walk. A charcuterie plate to start with(excellent), baby carrot side item(really good), brisket appetizer(I mean it when I say this probably the best brisket in all of seattle), and almond dark butter cake(sounds confusing but so good there was not a crumb left on the plate). So as you can see the food here certainly hits the mark. As for negatives I can think of only two that keep this from a five star review. First they don’t have a full bar. They do have cocktails but they are all premixed. They are still good but of course not as good as if made from scratch. Secondly is the price. This place is on the pricier side. For two people, drinks and splitting an appetizer, entrée, dessert and side you are looking at about $ 100 after tip and tax. By Seattle standards not ridiculously priced but certainly not for you if you are on a bidget. Price a side this is a great place and certainly worthy of a drop in if you are in or around Pioneer Square.

One of my fav places for brunch! I love the simple décor and its atmosphere. And I like how they have fresh flowers for sale at the front. I’ve been here a couple times for brunch? and the service and food is always spot on. The biscuit with crème fraîche and preserves is the most simple dish but is my fav. The preserves always changes out so don’t expect the same thing each time you order it. They gave me a tomato preserve without telling me. It def caught me by surprise and unfortunately I wasn’t a fan, but it’s cool, they gave me an apricot one instead which was good My second fav would be the avocado toast. It can get a bit messy to eat Cus there’s a whole lotta veggies on it, but definitely yum As the rest of the dishes I’ve had, they were all tasty. All the dishes tasted fresh, not too heavy and we’re all plated beautifully, even the yogurt and cereal dishes!

This was our first stop when our family flew in from SoCal. What a letdown. I’m dumbfounded by the people that would rate this pretentious brick and mortar that serves over-caffeinated food five stars. Yep, it’s definitely cozy, had good décor and ambiance. Unfortunately, you can’t taste cozy, ambiance and especially the décor. 2 stars for the avocado toast. This was the only item that had a promising flavor(hint: tajin pepper). The rest like the swedish meatballs, plane bread and«special» beans with greens and pork shoulder were just atrocious. I also got charged $ 0.50 when I asked for an extra butter for the plane bread. Service was inauthentic.

I still don’t get London Plane. We’ve been here twice more since we moved to Seattle and both experiences have been so-so food and not-so-great service. The best part of this place is the building. The windows and high ceilings are beautiful and the design is spot on. Downsides are they open at 8am but don’t start serving anything other than stuff from the pastry case until 9am. Kind of a downer and it means I can’t swing by for a bite before work unless I want to be that person cruising into the office at 10:30−11am. Service has always been a little on the aloof side. The employees are friendly in a way that feels inauthentic to me. For the price, it’s just not worth it.

Pros: Great ambiance, good service, and delicious food. Cons: A little pricy, limited menu options. We tried this place after seeing that it was on a lot of top 10 best brunch places lists and it had good reviews on Unilocal. When we walked into the restaurant we had an oh-wow reaction. The décor is beautiful. The space also has a flower shop and a gift shop in it, along with an open kitchen. It feels very cozy despite the industrial loft style design. We didn’t make a reservation for brunch, and there wasn’t any wait time to get a table — they seem to have a large eating space, which is great. The service was great — we got rotating servers, anyone who was close by was serving us instead of an assigned server, which made it more efficient. Their freshly baked bread was amazing ! We also tried their seasonal preserves with biscuit — which was again baked to perfection. For mains I had the black beans and pickled onion eggs, and my husband tried the oil poached tuna. Both the dishes were flavorful and filling. The price range is from $ 15-$ 20 per dish. The desserts are from $ 4-$ 7. Overall, its a little pricy, but what i would expect from such a place. We also tried their lassi — which was very different than your typical lassi. It had cardamom and pistachio in it and felt more like a dessert. Definitely recommended. They told us that their menu changes almost every 4 – 5 weeks, with some items remaining constant. Their avocado toast is the most popular dish — which we didn’t get to try this time around. If you are looking for a classy place to go with good food, I would recommend The London Plane.

We stopped by on our last day in Seattle at the recommendation of a friend and had an amazingly filling and satisfying breakfast. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a florist area, order to go counter and retail store all sharing space together. On a sunny day it’s the perfect place to relax with a baked good and some coffee. Wanting to try all of the tasty things on the menu we ended up ordering way too much and loved every bite we could manage. We ordered the hot cereal topped with fresh figs and nuts, Swedish meatballs, peanut butter toast, biscuits with butter and hot coffee. If only we had room for more.

I really want to like this place. This café has a small selection of treats and drinks. There’s plenty of seating and cute upstairs area. The actual space is beautiful. Lots of light, plenty of beautiful fresh flowers, employees with rustic aprons. The food on the other hand… I was a bit disappointed. I went in late afternoon so there wasn’t too much of a selection. I Had a tart and a glass of wine. The tart was okay, if anything too expensive.

Still love this place. It never disappoints — it may even get better with each visit. I’ve recommended/introduced it to several people and everyone has loved it! Avocado toast. Butternut squash soup. Flower shop. Pastries/baked goods. Love it all!

Places like London Plane make my heart happy. Two floors of happy customers noshing on fresh, farm-to-table dishes in a beautiful space with tall, wide windows. A mouthful to describe this place, but it still doesn’t do it justice. On a whim, we decided to come here. It probably wasn’t the smartest move to just walk in — it’s best to make a reservation ahead of time. Fortunately, we were able to snag a few seats at the counter. I decided to get the curried avocado toast and the others ordered spicy kimchi rice and the assortment of salads(sweet potatoes, zucchini and lentils). The wait for food? Not bad at all. You get so absorbed by the ambiance, the buzzing of conversations over coffee all around… and then boom! Your food arrives. The avocado toast was quite good — sprigs of pretty vegetables and generous heaps of avocado spread smeared on sourdough toast. If you’re in the mood for something savory, the kimchi rice is the way to go, with a burst of umami, perfectly ooey gooey six-minute eggs and scallions. The salads are a good choice if you’re looking to stay on the healthy side. Quaint vibes and delicious food — The London Plane is a must for brunch enthusiasts.

I had initially wanted to come here for brunch, but we ended up just grabbing a few baked goods from the front of the place instead. The location is beautiful, with tons of natural lighting and fresh flowers. Our cashier wasn’t the friendliest in the world(she actually seemed fairly annoyed that we bothered her, to be honest), but the snacks we picked up made up for her salty attitude. Their passion fruit meringue tart was FANTASTIC, although it didn’t seem like they made it properly — the curd-like filling was far too liquidy, and hadn’t set, which made eating it a bit messy. The concept was delicious, though, just not properly executed. Also, note that they are very limited in their coffee/beverage menu.

I love this place! After living in Seattle for 3 years, I don’t know why this is the first time I’m going here. This place is beautiful, you are welcomed by the beautiful flower shop and the little store downstairs. We were a big group with kids and sat upstairs, it was amazing for us. The service was great, our waitress was so patient serving us with many small kids all over the place. The food was simply delicious and fresh. We ordered the famous avocado, mozzarella, veggies and the salad with chicken. Everything was good! We enjoyed it. I like how you can see the kitchen from the upstairs. You can see how clean and perfect everything is. One unusual observation: they didn’t have espressos, only drip coffee which is odd for a breakfast place. But those flowers got me!

5 stars for the ambiance. 5 stars for the food. 5 stars for the customer service. The aesthetic and décor is absolutely stunning. With floor-to-ceiling windows, fresh handcut flowers and perfectly arranged home goods, the London Plane is an Instagram photo waiting to be taken. Easily one of the most beautiful restaurants in Seattle. My friend & I shared the curried avocado toast, snap pea and radish salad and the bacon and gruyère quiche. The curried avocado toast was my favorite of the 3 dishes — creamy and smooth avocado smothered on freshly baked sourdough then generously topped with radish, carrot, red cabbage and cilantro. It had a strong, but not overwhelming, taste of curry with a hint of paprika. The salad featured fresh, crisp sugar snap peas and radishes tossed in a light ginger vinaigrette topped with crushed cashews. As for the quiche, it was truly unforgettable — savory and fluffy. Not to mention, each dish was beautifully plated. Although the space was buzzing about with a hungry crowd, we received our food within minutes. The gal serving us was friendly and attentive, checking on us throughout our meal. I’m already planning my next visit to the London Plane — and I anticipate it’ll be within the next couple of days because I enjoyed it so much! I recommend this place for just about any occasion, whether it’s a large or small group, date, celebration or just casual dining.
