If you are looking for a great place to dance and get a great work out you can’t go wrong with Deborah’s Saturday evening class. It’s gentle enough for the boomer generation but with plenty of vitality for any age.

I love this place! I take classes every week here. I cannot brag enough about the level of quality, fun and healing I’ve experienced. I have been dancing for several years and recently relocated to Seattle from Portland, OR. This is the place to do NIA in Seattle! I regularly take classes from Jennifer Earle-Lucero who is one of the most energetic, heartfelt, vibrant and knowledgable practitioners I’ve ever had. I also attend Ann Nicolaysen’s classes regularly who has warmed my sprit and guided my body. Susan Tate is wise and body brilliant and Jenna takes me places I want to go. I have yet to meet Gretchen but hear nothing but lovely things. Five extraordinary independent dancers, teachers and healers! This is the place to transform your mind and your body!

I heart the Civetta Dance Space — it’s got great floors, great mirrors, the bathroom is always clean, and Lisa, who runs it, is fantastic. If you want a space to rehearse in or you’re looking for a NIA class to attend up north, this is where you want to be! I gots nothin’ but love for Civetta!

I checked out a NIA class at the Dance Space last Sunday and was impressed. The studio is sunny and attractive and, while not huge, its plenty spacious for a class of about 20. NIA is a type of New Age aerobic workout with elements of yoga, African dance, martial arts, estatic dance, and(I’m told) Pilates. The teacher leads moves and you can work at any of three levels and get a good workout for your fitness capabilities(i.e., you’ll sweat, but don’t have to feel exhausted). No equipment required, and it’s sure a lot better whole-body workout than the same-old«going for a walk.»
