I don’t know why I left a 3 star review earlier, this place is awesome. I voted for Resurrection Sundays as best event night in Seattle this year, they have such cool themes for their club nights! Resurrection Sundays is the best goth night in Seattle. D&B Tuesdays is the best drum & bass night in Seattle. Not much experience going to Baltic Room on other nights though.

This weekend was the first weekend that I have come here. I hear such good things about this place. We get there around 10:25, and proceeded to wait in line. It actually wasn’t that long. Time kept passing and I was still standing in the same spot i was at 20 minutes ago. At this time I was analyzing the line, and noticed that a lot of people are just cutting to the front, and there is no security to regulate it. We were all completely sober, as we don’t drink. As a girl walked out the side door I kindly asked her if the club is over capacity, she said«no honestly they just keep the line long to draw attention». We waited, and waited. 12 hit, and i wanted to leave but we paid $ 15 for parking. About 40 minutes has passed and now we were at the front of the line. My friend who just overcame a serious illness told the bouncer lady that we have been here for almost two hours, but people keep cutting, and that was not cool. The bouncer said that«This is a nightclub, everyone’s going to cut». We finally get in at 12:45 and pay our $ 15 cover, and guess who is working behind the counter taking our money? The girl who walked out the side door, and told me they keep the line long to draw attention… We get to dance floor, and someone on the dancing stage opens a wine bottle and sprays it on everyone on the floor hitting me in the eye. I had my prescription contacts in, and it was burning. The security does nothing. I could not see out of my right eye, and i didn’t bring my glasses. My contact had to be taken out. At this point we had to leave because i literally couldn’t see. Im blind lol. Never coming here again.

So I was here about 10 days ago on a friday and bought 3 drinks. I even have a picture with the bartender. I remember looking at the total which was 22 something dollars. So I said whatever. When I checked my bank account a day later it said that as well, however a couple days afterwards it said 27.00 something dollars. I specifically remember not leaving a tip. Since he the service wasn’t great. I called and talked to a manager lady. She was very mean not giving me her full name and seemed really annoyed at my problem. However she did get my name and phone number down and promised to check and call right the next day. And never did. I am a cashier as well, I punch tips from each invoice everyday. I would never ever put in a fake tip. Is it because they think we won’t remember because we are having a drink or two? And plus what is with the rude lady. Not that I care about a few bucks but still this is just not right. My suggestion is carry cash with you or just do not go there at all. There is plenty of civilized honest businesses.

I was visiting Seattle an found this place with my wife on 90’s Hip hop night. We couldn’t stop dancing! Everyone we met was wonderful. It was very crowded but everyone was having fun. The bartenders were excellent and had a great sense of humor.

i would give it 5 stars based on my first experience there but when i went last Saturday i was soooo mad! i got a group of people to come out to celebrate my promotion and we got all nice to have a good night! we get to the door and as usual there’s a long wait, i guess to make the club look more poppin which is a great technique but not that fun to stand in the cold Seattle weather. but the night is still young so we make the best out of it. we finally get to the front of the line ans the bouncer turns me away cause i have my temporary id since the dmv hasn’t sent me mine. i explained the situation to him and he still turned me away. it was a valid photo id, and he still wouldn’t let me in! i was so furious! i will not be going back!

I love that 90’s mash ups on set with some obscure and current EDM. Went once on a Friday. Not over crowded, yay! I never not have fun in life but this place can stand to hire DJ who needs to work on crowd knowledge and mixing versus playing whole song. Seattle hip hop club can be better, why not?!

A dance club offering an arraignment of hip hop and new age music. Not much more than a dance club but for those looking to cut loose this is your place. There is a cover charge on most Friday and Saturday nights so be ready to anti up before you get down. Worth a look if you’re a big dancer otherwise there are other more inviting and social bars.

Came here on a Tuesday since I had a bit of an edm craving. Music was subpar. Bartenders were nice and I really like how they made my drinks. Crowd seemed chill. Kind of was expecting more since I’m from out of town but then again it was a Tuesday. Looks to be a cool place to have a blast on the weekend. Next time I’ll try some place else on a Tuesday night in Seattle.

I had so much fun here, I didn’t get too intoxicated but I definitely hung out by the bar most of the night. Everyone was so great. Awesome staff and clientel. I’ll be back, thank you!

Had a great time last night. It didn’t take long to get into the club. They have a $ 3 coat check. The staff at the bar were able to get drinks to people fast and they weren’t over priced. The bathrooms were incredibly clean since most clubs I go to are usually a wreck. It was super crowded and no where to really sit. The music was very good, all hip hop. Even on the way out the staff was nice by holding doors and entertaining us until our Lyft driver showed up. I would definitely go back.

Paid entrance for 6 people as part of a company event but they would not give me a receipt. They told me it was expense fraud and were exceptionally rude — hah! I presume their cash is not going to the IRS. Otherwise — the crowd was nice.

Good music for a Saturday night — classic hip hop and some more current stuff. Cheap drinks. Generally friendly staff. Maybe it was an off night but boy oh boy was it an iffy crowd…

There are a lot of reviews on here saying the staff are assholes but everyone was super friendly to me, maybe just depends on the night. We went to see Darude and had a really great time. Will definitely be going here again.

Went to the Baltic room last weekend for a birthday. I received my drinks fairly quickly(although I came early so it was easier to get drinks). Staff was mostly friendly. There was a girl bartender there who seemed irritable and yelling at another bartender… dunno what that was about. On to the fun part. My wallet had been stolen from my VIP both. Turns out the people from the booth over had taken it. I had gone over to confront the person who had taken my wallet when a guy in a leather jacket(hot as a mf) came up to me and stopped me. He told me «shush, I’ll handle it.» He walked up to the party that had taken my wallet and asked if they’d return it to me. The party didn’t even acknowledge the man in the leather jacket. Then the man made a motion with his hand and two other people who had been there all along stood up and all three of then pulled out badges. They were under cover SECURITY with the club. The look on that whole booths face was priceless and I got my wallet back. Tried to leave with that undercover security guys number but he just snubbed me and walked away when I asked haha. The rest of the night was good. Wish they served food or something. There is a small burger joint next door if you get hungry(although the line seemed really long).

Always my favorite Thirsty Thursday night spot. Dave, the best bartender, my stright husband is the best of the best. Baltic Room is always changing nights and a great mix of people at Baltic Room. The staff is always welcoming, and will remember you if you’re a regular that treats them like you want to be treated. I recommend becoming friends withe the staff, it pays off in spades.

I attended the Baltic Room on a Saturday for the CRAVE event and had a wonderfully good time – I hadn’t been to your place in over 10 years. As my friend I were leaving close to 1:00 a.m. we asked for a cab to be called for us. I was informed your staff does not do this service for patrons of your place. I was slightly taken aback as I have never encountered such a statement of non-service from a bar, or any club where alcohol is being served. I DONOTRECOMMEND this place to other folks because of this lack of service and so rude about it too. How short-sighted of a club to let patrons leave drunk without any options of calling a taxi or hailing down a taxi cab??? I felt laughed at that I even asked the question. Baltic wants to «step it up» to a NY style though so still so back-assward when it comes to how a real club operates. FYI We finally were able to get assistance from one of your gracious patrons, who also saw the lack of help for you staff, we thanked him profusely. Thank you for the eye opener and now I know to ask if taxi service is an option when I go out next Saturday. Thank you for your time ~ POORREVIEW

This review is only based off the actions of the«security» personnel which I observed outside the venue last night. Just after midnight, I was about to walk into the burger spot next door when I witnessed a security guard«subdue»(tackle) some guy and hold him to the ground. I couldn’t tell you what prompted the security guard to think this would be an appropriate reaction, but from the looks if it, the guy was just drunk and trying to get in the bar. Already surprised by the excessive force being used by this security guard, I watched in horror as a woman walked up to defend him and was very swiftly brought down to kiss the sidewalk by 2 other security guards. She definitely didn’t do anything to deserve that. One security guard handcuffed her hands behind her back while the other pinned her down by pressing his knee against the back of her neck. His KNEE on the back of her NECK! At this point I approached the Baltic Room«security» guards and calmly asked that they at least let her stand up. Though I don’t think my request was unreasonable considering the whole excessive force and false imprisonment thing, the security professionals’ eloquent response of, «FUCKOFF! Get the FUCK back!!! We already called the cops!» left me feeling that the Baltic Room security staff are a group of dangerous, aggressive meatheads who pose a threat to non-violent bar patrons and innocent bystanders. I only bit my tongue because it was very clear that my night would have ended with handcuffs instead of the strawberry milkshake I went out for. In an era where police brutality is of grave concern, it’s detestable that private security guards are able to abuse people– let alone innocent, unarmed women– and get away with it. I’ve walked by Baltic Room many times and have always been interested in checking it out, but after that experience, I will never support their business and will encourage anyone/everyone to boycott them as well. To the owner, I would request that you post security footage from the described incident in lieu of responding with some contrived PR piece about how you, «only hire the most professional and highly trained security» or whatever BS you may be tempted to reply with. Make sure Seattle Police gets the video link too.

Historically, Baltic was more of a lounge, when Reggie Watts was playing there regularly and the upholstery was velvet. Yep, it has been around for quite awhile and since that time has invested in burgeoning sub cultures often overlooked by other similar clubs. And it has paid off once again. If you haven’t heard of Baltic’s Resurrection Sunday nights, you might not be plugged in. Testing. .. testing. .. this night is absolutely one of kind. It captures the character of various genres of alternative/goth/industrial/dark/kinky. Performance artists of all types are either regulars or performers. There will be more artists here on this night than you could imagine — photographers, clothing designers, sculptors, painters, jewelry designers, writers and filmmakers — great talents in this city. If you are creative, perhaps a little dark, or looking to experience something outside the usual club atmosphere, get here. Observe, engage and immerse yourself in this zeitgeist. Thank you to the Baltic management and staff who execute the most exquisite and elaborate of events every week.

Story #2 about the Baltic Room being managed by quality people. Lost my phone behind the upstairs benches on a Saturday night. Told a bartender, who told the manager, who came up to check it out. It was early in the night and I was there for a friend’s birthday, so since it wasn’t going anywhere I just told him I’d worry about it the next day(who needs a phone when you’re just chilling at home watching football?). Though David wasn’t able to get it out himself, he was super friendly and patient, allowing me to come during off-hours to try my hand at retrieving it personally. Through his help(and some ingenuity) we managed to get it out. Now I have my phone back, and another reason to appreciate this Cap Hill institution.

I worked with Zac and Jerry to reserve a booth for my friend’s birthday last Saturday. Their communication was excellent from beginning to end and were available to answer any questions I had up until the special night. Jerry was there to take my party to our table and he made the whole process very smooth. He came and check to make sure everyone was having a good time toward the end of the night. I’ll be sure to work with them for future parties!

My least favorite part of Seattle. The Baltic Room is a popular nightclub in Capitol Hill that attracts loud drunks and no modicum of respect. The artificially long line outside drags on for up to an hour. The bouncers are always mean and appear to hate life and all living things. One time, I was driving by this location and some people stumbled out from the front of the building and into the middle of the street. Everyone was covering their eyes and screaming. We had to stop in the middle of the street until it cleared. We later found out that someone had used pepper spray in the crowd. Just another typical night at The Baltic Room…

The crowd is usually good vibes. The music is good(because I choose to come on Sundays and Tuesdays which play music I like. The staff could be a little friendlier and the space a little bigger, but overall I like it. If they didn’t have such good drum & bass and Industrial/Goth nights then I might have different feelings about this venue. It looks like a lot of people have been ripped off trying to book a table.

After The Noc Noc closed I had a huge gaping hole left in My black heart for a place that was not the Merc to get My dance and inebriation on. I am glad I gave this place a chance on their themed Sunday goth nights because it’s My new favorite and the only place I want to go to for debauchery. The drinks could be stronger and less spendy but the bartenders are hot as hell so that makes up for it, One gave Me a lady boner once when She fed Me an olive out of her mouth… anyways. The atmosphere is totally legit I love it, it’s like something out of a movie the place is just big enough to be intimate the dance floor is perfect sized I love that You can escape to the many benched areas to visit with different people or just have a moment of peace. The upstairs is pretty cool and fun to people watch from. I have been playing this game since I was a kid called Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines and this place from the inside looks just like a club on that game so it gave Me the warm fuzzies. The only thing(s) that would make this place more awesome is if it had tots(tater) like Noc used to and if the sound guy fixed mics before shows instead of during oh and stronger drinks because I am a lush but other than that I LOVEIT…

The first time i came to this club was for one of my good friends graduation party. He got a table with this promotor and ended up getting screwed. Didn’t really know the details and honestly didn’t care at that point. I got there late, just wanted to party with my girl and bounce. So when it was time for my sister’s birthday, I asked about prices and wanted to find out more info about getting a table reservation. They didn’t have a set price and different promotors were telling me different prices. It’s like how do i know which one is right and appropriate, and since i couldn’t I took the same promoter that helped my friend just a month before. His name is either Daniel or Eric, and he’s a thief. He would promise something and once you arrive at the club would completely lie. So here’s the story. We got two tables and was told that we would get two black labels but when we got there. He said oops, sorry we only have one so take something else. Mind you i do not like anything but black and blue label and so does my group. So we made a deal with him for one of my friends to go and grab two other black label from outside the club and he agreed to charge us corkage fee. When we got the bill, I saw that we were charged for 3 hennesy for $ 750 and i wanted explanation. Mind you, the club only paid for one bottle, which was $ 250 and I know there is no corkage fee that charges you the same as the bottles they are providing. So when i investigated with the manager and server, i found out that was what the promoter told them because we look like we got money. Also, this wasn’t the first time he’s done this, if you want receipt, please reach out to me. He looks like he’s in his early 20s, name is either Daniel or Erik, his number is 206−512−6526 and he’s thief, be careful, be really careful.

I came here on Christmas Day of 2013 and I had the best time. It wasn’t overly crowded, drinks were great, staff was friendly, music was bumping and bathrooms were clean. I like the platforms that they have that you can dance on. I had tons of fun doing that and they even have booths to lounge in. I hope to come here again for Christmas Day this year!

I have been to many lounges/clubs/bars in Seattle and never had I felt so compelled to write a review about such place because Baltic Room was the worse experience in my life! Came here for the first time for my friends birthday and from the get go, it was bad. She had booked a table online but upon arriving(at 10:20pm), there was no reservation under her name. After talking with the promoter, he offered an available booth for $ 100(just table, no bottle service) which the birthday girl paid for(despite me saying we should go somewhere else because Baltic was charging $ 10 for cover when there were literally 2 people in the club at that time). Luckily, the promoter came by with a bottle of champagne to help celebrate(and lighten the mood). With a table, all guests of the party do not need to pay cover before 11pm. A group of friends arrived right before 11 and while a few were able to get in for free, one girl had to pay because she got to the cashier at 11:03(but she was with the same group of girls who JUST got in!)… As the night progressed, things got a little better(as people got a little more alcohol into their systems: P). But wow, their bar sucks! I ordered patron shots for my friends, only for the bartender to come back saying they don’t have that. Uhhh what?! How can you call yourself«Seattle’s icon for DRINKING, dancing, and nightlife» when you don’t even have popular alcohol? And like I said, we were the third people in the club when I ordered so they could not have run out of patron… unless those first 2 people ordered the entire stock of it! :P Also, our particular bartender wasn’t the greatest… she forgot to provide limes and salt with the tequila, never asked if we wanted chasers, and gave a lot of attitude. Around 12:15 pm, the most appalling set of events that night occurred. The bday girl was intoxicated but was clearly holding her own. She could stand and walk fine, speak coherently without any slur in speech, and was having a good time… ONHERBIRTHDAY! As we were making our way to the dance floor, a bouncer comes out of nowhere and grabs the bday girl by the shoulders from behind! I grabbed her and asked the bouncer«what’s going on?» and he said she was too intoxicated and needs to be escorted out. Our group was trying to tell him that she was fine when the bouncer grabs the bday girl again and physically pulls her out of the club! Our entire group makes our way outside, confused and angry that they would do this to a birthday guest who paid for a table and had guests who already spent hundreds of dollars ordering more bottles and rounds! The bouncers out front said«she is wasted» and cannot come back in. After trying to reason with the«head of security», we discover that the bouncers were referring to another group of girls who were throwing up next to a tree outside. We had no idea who those girls were and after explaining that, the bouncer seemed willing to let us back in but the head of security said no. Bday girl started crying(it was her birthday!!!), a lot of swear words were exchanged, and in the end we grabbed our stuff and left. I cannot believe what happened last night. If this is the way Baltic Room treats their guests, especially those who spent a lot of money, I’m never coming back here again. The bday girl’s birthday party was ruined and she remained upset the rest of the night. I was irate because this was not fair. The bouncers made the mistake of associating us with a different group, couldn’t acknowledge their mistake, and made this the worse night out in my life! Also, the use of brute force is NOTOK! Especially on a small female! They’re lucky I didn’t call the cops on them because I would have reported assault for sure!

I used to frequent this spot when GOOD Saturdays was around. I would come here every Saturday because it was always fun and the music was only hip hop. Then they stopped having the weekly event and didn’t go here anymore. This club has variety of nights pulling in different demographics. So one night the club will be full of asians with hip hop and another night with a diverse set of people with top 40. I came here last Friday night for the first time in months for an I Heart Models event and it was completely renovated. The DJ booth was relocated and added an area for go go dancers. I really like the upgraded lighting and sound setup, it really improved the vibe. Hopefully it starts to be as popular as it was before.

Great place! I come almost every Sunday for their Resurrection events. Each week is a different theme and the DJ’s are awesome! Only gave 4 out of 5 stars because they serve some kind off-brand cola rather than coke. It’s very obvious and does not always mix well with some of the alcohols, but other than their lack of mixer selection they are a fantastic bar!

The first time I went here, it was Baltic’s whatever year anniversary & also my friend’s birthday where we had booth &VIP treatment, it was fun & I had a blast! The second time I went here on a normal night, it was alright. Maybe it was just because we came off a bad start because the girl that was checking for guestlist was extremely rude. My drunk friends had to use the restroom so they got out of line to go next door while I still stood in line & when they came back to take their spot, we ALL got sent to the very back which was fine, nobody should be able to cut, but the girl also didn’t have to be so mean about it. I took it well, but my friends were furious & would have snap off her if we ended up not being able to get guestlist’s price for being late on time due to being sent back to the end of line. I haven’t been there since, but I guess I’ll have to give Baltic another chance to finalize my feelings toward it. Club itself is a smaller, cozier atmosphere which I like because it leave less awkward empty spaces & bring people closer together without being too close that they are feeling invaded. There’s an upstairs, but it’s only for people that have booths. Crowd are friendly & nice, it has been mainly Asians the 2 times that I’ve been there, but I’m starting to think that clubbing may be an «Asian thing» now that’s I’ve noticed that same demographic at most clubs.
