As mentioned in other reviews, this place is quite clean, new looking, nicely decorated. A small parking lot in front but good luck navigating through the bad drivers or you can just park on the street. Saw that they had some flavored tofu and bahn mi sandwiches available so I had to partake in trying some. I got the #1 and #2 bahn mi sandwich, both were ok. Not a whole lot of meat & veg filling inside but at least it tasted ok. Bahn mi sandwiches are made to order which is nice, bread was the best part, a nice baguette that was pretty soft on the inside and nice and crusty on the outside. Also got some of the self serve lemongrass tofu, and chili tofu. If I recall, it was $ 2.95/lb so grab a bag and fill it up. Nicely fried & nicely seasoned, definitely would get it again. Lastly, I got some of their sweet dessert treats, the staff guy didnt know what it was called and just told me it was delicious and to get some, so I did. Coconut banana was pretty good, naturally sweet tasting and a good ending. Don’t forget to check out their tables and coolers that have some prepared items. Overall, a pretty good spot to check out when in ID/Little Saigon area.

The one day I forget to bring my wallet. No Apple Pay here either. $ 3 banh mi, and assortment of hot dish combos and tofus with the usual dessert drinks, but just look at the place. King St just got a serious upgrade.

Terrible, slow service. All the employees had bad attitudes. And why was a 10 year old boy preparing my food??? When did Seattle lower the legal working age. Paid $ 3.00 for an iced coffee that was pre made and stored in an old 2 liter soda bottle. Nope. Never again.

Go for the $ 3 banh mi served on fresh baked French bread and add an authentic well balanced Vietnamese iced coffee. Skip the fruit-flavored sweet rice(e.g. Durian or Jackfruit rice) since it doesn’t have any flavor.

Go for the namesake: a tofu banh mi. It’s filling, flavorful and fresh! They also have drinks, hot dishes, yummy flan, snacks and side dishes here so you can get a nice, full meal here. This place is clean and has parking, which is also very convenient.

Hello, tofuuuuu!!! This not so new but kind of new spot is a breath of fresh air particularly in this area. For the aesthetic that is. Nothing in this area is pretty or odor friendly. This place changed all that! It is stunning, clean, big, beautiful and all that. Like ~ tofu, bread!!! parking, cleanliness, décor! Dislike ~ a few things! It’s a Vietnamese deli/soy tofu haven/condiments and snacks. They have bag your own tofu bar. I like that. So many different options of tofu!!! Yummmmmmm! They also have the fun things laid out so you can get what you want for that seven layers dessert /coconut milk based treats. They are good but my tastebuds are still getting used to this particular concoction. Love ~ their fresh baked breads! Banh Mis are yummmm! Vietnamese ice coffee is also good. It’s like a prettier version of old Vietnamese deli I frequent down the street but with a lot of soy product. You can try hot/cold soy beverages. They make their own French bread! Sold! I’m a huge fan of fresh baked bread. It tastes amazing! And it’s my favorite here. The rest of the items are a ok. Not as crispy :) All that tofu, tofu cakes may put you to sleep after!

The sandwiches are tasty especially the #1. Place is always busy and the large selection of different tofu products is nice. I wish they offered better containers then the plastic produce bags you see at grocery stores but oh well i guess.

Great place to buy banh mi, soy milk, and tofu(especially the fried spicy/lemongrass tofu). I would pick their banh mi over Subway sandwich. They are better tasting, larger, and cheaper. I only wish that they open up a store on the Eastside.

Vietnamese restaurants are known for sub-par service, dirty insides, and failed décor. Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants tend to share this recognition. If you go there, you better love the food. It is refreshing to come across exceptions now and then and I want to congratulate the Thanh Son owner for breaking the mold. The interior is very nicely decorated. I love the creative use of logs, woods, and granite from floor to ceiling. The food I purchased were well made and orderly. The bread for the bánh mi loafs are perfectly fluffy and crunchy. Though they could offer more stuffing on the inside. The tofu assortments are excellent. The chè 3 mu is more like 7 colors. All’s good.

Reliably good bahn mi for only $ 3 makes this place a total deal. They do use mayo in some(or all?) of their bahn mi sandwiches. It’s odd but good. Big downside is the hours. It’s not really a good bet for dinner as they close at 6pm, and when we went there yesterday at 5:30 the bahn mi line was already shut down. Really disappointing. We’ll be sticking to lunch or picking up our dinner sandwiches in advance. Parking is a bit tight, but there’s plenty of it and the employees have always been friendly to us bahn-mi-loving white folks.

If you’re not Vietnamese expect unfriendly service from the employees. For example ignoring you, letting Vietnamese people cut in front of you, etc. I’ve been cut in line by Vietnamese people here several times and the employees don’t care one bit. The Viet customers are rude to non-Viets as well. They don’t cut eachother. Thats really annoying to me that the employees allow this and are just as rude. On top of this racially discriminatory customer service, if you come here for a sandwich the beef is always sold out after like 4pm. Which is pretty ridiculous to me since its obviously the best sub they have. Nope you’ll just get a pork sub won’t cha. Not anymore! To hell with this place.

New location looks alot nicer and cleaner. Small parking lot available. Variety of cooked tofu available, lots of banh mi sandwiches selections, and che(desserts) bar. Soy bean drinks and tofu is always fresh here. Service is a hit or miss, better luck if you speak the language. Pics on Instagram @amanda.n_

The che here was surprisingly pretty good. I am not a che person so I didn’t care to buy any, but my friend give me a sample of hers. The soy milk was indeed fresh, but we drank the warm version so it wasn’t my temperature preference. The milk wasn’t too sweet, and you can def taste the soy versus it being diluted too much. There are some snack items you can grab, but the locals come here for the che. Parking was a pain as the parking lot here was super crowded even around 4PM on a Sunday.

This place is interesting. From the name I actually thought it was a supermarket like Hau Hau. But when I walked in its like a fast food place that also sells tofu and soy drinks at one end and Viet snacks at the other. There is a big parking lot up front or if its full you can find free street parking. Pay parking doesn’t start until 3 blocks down from Thanh. Décor is clean and yes this place is quite busy. Its like a supermarket in some way but its not.

They have super good soy milk here! The only place I will drink soy milk from. However, I ordered a sandwich today, and as I was picking out the jalapeños, I saw something shiny. It was a piece of plastic… Gross. Ruined my dinner

Great new location. They have a buffet of fried tofu in different flavors for you to get as much or as little as you want. A great favorite of ours are onion and lemongrass/chili flavors. They also have a large selection of ready-made foods for you to pick up. There are ready made soy-milk jugs to grab and go. They also have Vietnamese che for dessert. Great location and new storefront!

I like how clean this place is! The restaurant is fresh and new. I think it’s pretty nice for a place in the I.D. I’m so use to the dirt and grime feel of the usual hole in the walls, this is a much need change. The tofu here is very consistent and always taste fresh. I had the Vietnamese Sammy’s yesterday and they were ok. The bread was large and they fill the sandwich up with a decent amount of food. I think there is missing salt or soy sauce though. The sammy tasted ever so slightly mild and bland. Ill come back cause it is reasonably close to work and again i love how clean it is.

Came here looking for the banh mi which was pretty good. I think they use mayo which is different. The place really nice and super clean. The lady taking orders did not look like she wanted to be there. The food came out pretty quickly. The price for the banh mi is around the same as the other stores

My family first came to Thanh Son Tofu after they had the grand opening. I came shortly to check it out because everyone exclaimed«how awesome and brand new the store looks now». The parking space can be hectic if there are a bunch of vehicles trying to get in. Anyway, I would recommend to not panic since you can easily park anywhere closeby on the street. The store is very clean(compared to some deli stores I’ve been to — no offense to the other stores and I won’t mention names). The tofu is obviously very very very awesome because that is what they live and work for: TOFU i.e. THANHSONTOFU. The Vietnamese yogurt and flan are very delectable. Banh gio(steamed minced meat rice cake) is very very good. Cha lua(Vietnamese pork roll) is very delicious as well. Sua dau nanh(soybean milk) and dau hu duong(tofu with sugar sauce) are to die for… since they are made fresh daily. NOTE: The yogurt cups are in the fridge should always be the ones on the top shelf because there are similar cups at the bottom shelf. BUT they are tofu cups! I am not sure why the worker(s) and/or owner(s) do/does not want to place a sign that can at least let the customers know. If you buy 10 yogurt cups, you can easily request for 2 paper trays from the worker(s) because each tray can hold 5 yogurt cups. You don’t want to hold your yogurt cups in such a way that you’ll end up breaking the yogurts’ contents since it will be watery and ruin the taste. In the end, don’t hesitate to check out this deli store and enjoy for yourself/selves a bunch of delicious Vietnamese treats!

This place is very clean, contemporary and spacious. There’s a small sitting area inside and lots of parking outside. I’ve only had the tofu and it’s good. It’s a self serve tofu bar with 4 different flavors and it’s charged by the pound. They also have banh mi, che and lots of other snack foods.

If you want tofu, this is definitely the place to go. The variety of tofu is great. If I don’t feel like making homemade tofu, Thanh Son Tofu is conveniently located in Chinatown for those who live closeby. This is a new location so it looks much cleaner and more spacious than ever. The tofu bar is the way to go, and if I remember correctly, the plain tofu cost about $ 2/lbs. They also have ready to eat take out, which is great if you’re looking for quality tofu dishes that are not very expensive. However, the customer service was iffy. One of the workers looked extremely bored out of her mind helping customers and she barely paid attention when a customer asked a question. Unfortunately, the worker was more interested in watching the Seahawks game playing in the background versus getting the customer’s order. I’m all for team spirit, but this situation was pushing it. Don’t order bubble tea here — if you want dessert, go somewhere else that specializes in desserts. I ordered the taro milk tea, and I’m sorry I did. The tapioca in the drink was hard/too chewy and the milk tea was too sweet for my liking.

With a huge variety of tofu, sticky rice, desserts and vietnamese sandwiches, this place is goto deli to get a quick fix. With that being said, the staff are rude, as well as the customers who come here. I guess vietnamese people don’t understand the concept of waiting on line or cater to a first come first served policy. Customers jumping in front of you and staff not saying a single word about it. I’m guessing this happens a lot? Service is extremely slow and as you can already tell, they don’t know what customer service is. I ordered a vietnamese sandwich, paid for and everything to find out they’re out of what I wanted. Should have told me that while I waited 20 minutes while you made me something I didnt want. She ended up giving me half roasted pork and half bbq pork. Didnt even ask me if that was okay. Just made it and gave it to me. Was very displeased about the whole entire situation. Just love that theres plenty of parking and they have a nice selection of items. Other than that, I think I’d go else where for my sandwiches and tofu.

Checked out the new Thanh Son Tofu location over the weekend. It is located in the Little Saigon part of the International District. A few streets south of the old location on 12th Ave. The new store is across the street from Lam’s Seafood Market in a new beige colored building that is primarily occupied by Thanh Son. The store has a parking lot in front of the store. Street parking is also available should the lot be full. The interior of the store is huge and immaculate. Whereas the old store was packed with goods, this location seems to be so cavernous that there is actually more space than is needed. At least for now. The ceiling of the store has a very interesting gold colored design that you wouldn’t expect from a shop like this. Nor would you expect a store in the I-D(aside from Uwajimaya) to be as clean as this. Like the old location, you can find an assortment of Thanh Son soy products including soy milk and tofu. My favorite item from Thanh Son is their fried tofu. Particularly the onion and lemongrass varieties. The fried tofu is sold by the pound and cheaper than if you bought it at a grocery store. They are located under heat lamps so the tofu is still warm. I do wish they would provide containers instead of offering produce bags to put the tofu in though. In addition to Thanh Son products, there are also Vietnamese goods include bakery goods and deli items. The new store has a new banh mi station on the far right hand side. And I noticed they bake their bread in store as there is a bread maker behind the prep area. I will have to give the banh mi a try on a future visit. While I like most of the changes, I did find the waiting line to be chaotic. There were a bunch of other customers at the store and it was difficult to tell where the end of the line was. Other than that, I would say the new Thanh Son Tofu is a huge improvement on the old one in regards to location and offerings.
