They cook w/Canola, which is great for me(allergic to Soy), great food.

Delicious Thai cuisine and reasonably priced. After a long weekend of staying inside and studying for midterms I was not ready to leave my pj’s and walk 15 minutes in the Seattle rain for food, but I was craving Thai food. Luckily Unilocal helped me find Thai places that deliver near the U-District. I bought the chicken skewers(4pc) and my friend got the red curry and a salad. Not sure if it was the fact that we were super hungry(our food didn’t arrive until 9:30– delivery time was an hour and a half, aparently they were busy on a Sunday at 8pm, maybe everyone else ordered in because they were in the same pj predicament as me) but all of the dishes were amazingly good. Total cost was around $ 25. Giving this place 4 stars because I think delivery time could have been reduced to a half hour.

Sitting in Thaiger Room, writing this review. Should’ve wrote one years ago. Been coming here for over 5 years now. Staff years ago I think was a lot better but the food hasn’t changed. You can’t beat the price either. Good decent food for under $ 10, what’s not to love. But it’s not amazing either, hence the 3 stars. This shit got me through college Update: bathroom is gross as fuck. Looks the bathroom from Trainspotting, where ewan mcgreggor’s character is high as fuck and magically slides right into the toilet drain

Three stars for really great food. Horrible service. Kind of rude to the customers. I asked for brown rice instead of white rice(comes with the dish) and was given no rice, then when I asked for brown rice I was charged extra. Miscommunication I guess. But yeah. Bad service. Good food. One time I came here and they yelled«cash only» at us, so be aware that sometimes they don’t take card I guess? Good food tho hahaha.

If you are a customer who needs to be coddled and babied at all times, and will cry and complain if you’re not constantly checked on: don’t come here. If you are a person who wants decent Thai food, you want to get it quickly and for a good price: this is a good place for you. As a college student AND a waitress, I like this place. Yes, it’s not the best service in the world, and yes they don’t give the type of service I would give at my job, but that’s not why I go to the Thaiger Room. I go there for quick food on a budget, that still tastes pretty good. They only accept cash after 10pm, perfectly understandable for a small resultant like Thaiger(it is clearly posted on the door, but some people don’t care to look or read) who probably can’t afford the fee associated with credit cards when customer flow slows down. So, take all the complaints on here with a grain of salt. The food is good enough and cheap enough for me to not care about the service. If you’re a relatively entitled person who is used to corporate chain restaurants, you probably won’t enjoy this restaurant.

Taking three stars off because food was just ok. We ordered five entrees in a group of five. Golden noodles was bad. Basil fried rice was very good. Yellow curry was OK. Prawns were fresh in prawn noodles. Ambience is just ok. It’s a cash only place. Thai ice tea was very good

I have a Thai friend who works in this restaurant(shoutout for you, Dai!) and she brought me and 2 of my friends(one of them is Thai) here for lunch. I’m going to give honest, unbiased review. The place: 3⁄5. Nice enough, but kinda small and dark for me. The service: 3⁄5. The servant was a Thai man. Actually, he’s friendly, but due to his limited english skill, he only speak to my Thai friends and barely speak to me and the other friend. The food: 4⁄5. I think this is the best point of this restaaurant! I ordered Pad See Ew. The noodle was right, the sauce was right, the meat and the veggies were nicely cooked, almost perfect. However, there’s this one thing that doesn’t make sense for me until now: They serve it with rice. Yep, seriously, PADSEEEW with RICE? Not a nice combo for me. I think they could improve more.

The food here was decent, yet, tasted different from other Thai restaurants that I’ve been too. I had the Drunken Noodles with 5 star spicy. Boy, it was spicy. Unlike other restaurants, they really pile up the spice so definitely be careful. I feel like I would have enjoyed my food a little more if I had ordered a 4 star, but it was totally my fault. The noodle dishes here are very saucy and wet, not like the typical dry stir fried Thai noodles. Drunken noodles should accentuate flavors of fresh tomato and basil, and it lacked both. They do give pretty large portions, I finished all of mine and I was stuffed!

2.5 Stars My boyfriend and I came here for dinner, with not knowing where to go while walking on the Ave from a show we saw nearby. The place looked the least college-gang, plus it’s Thai food, so we decided to give it a try. We were immediately able to get a table, and like we had hoped, most of the people here were parents with their college kids or older students. The waiter was a little curt and came across as rude when he first came to our table, but we later realized he was just a a very serious person, and ended up treating us better as the night went on. He and another water were walking around the narrow restaurant, re-filling water and checking up on all the tables, which was nice. The food did take awhile to come out though. We wanted to start with chicken satays, but they ended up coming out with the rest of our food. The four chicken satays were actually a large size, which was nice. We also ordered Drunken Noodles, which were wide egg noodles tossed in a black gravy sauce with mixed vegetables, Thai Spice Chicken dish with mixed vegetables and the special of the night, which was Basil Beef. For some reason the noodle dish came with a side of white rice, which was unnecessary. We also ordered the noodles with four stars, and it wasn’t that spicy at all. It was also waaayyy too rich with the gravy sauce. The Basil Beef also had a dark sauce that came with, which was also way too rich, so was hard to taste the basil. It also had broccoli, which wasn’t split/cut enough, as the large pieces of broccoli were hard to eat without a knife. The Thai Spice dish with chicken was the best plate we ordered, as we could really taste the vegetables and red pepper flavor of the chicken. I also really liked the eggplant that came with that dish. The women’s restroom is really gross, as there were stains on the toilet seat. GAHH! The soap that was also in there actually made my hands super dry. Overall, the food is okay — or hit and miss, depending what you order; the service is good if you don’t take the waiter’s serious personality to heart; and the bathroom needs a cleaning.

The guy here was so rude. We tried to go for dinner and the guy said there were no tables in s very aggressive tone. When I asked all night, he said for at least the best 30 minutes. I really wanted to try this place but with that experience I will definitely have to pass

Thai food is my favorite food, so I’ve had plenty. When I came here I honestly wasn’t expecting much already because of the reviews. I was pretty much right. I got the Pad See Ew chicken and it just wasn’t very good? And there was this weird bean thing in it that was unnecessary and weird. I tried my friends Pad Thai and it wasn’t that great either. I would only come back here if I was super hungry for Thai food and it was like 1 am since this place closes at 2.

This spot is a popular one amongst students in the U-District, although I’ve never really understood why. I’ve made at least a dozen visits(sit down and take out) now, and I always think the food they deliver is usually sub-par. The pad thai is consistently tangy, reminiscent of orange chicken, and too saucy for my liking. I only continue to go because it is such a popular spot that my friends/coworkers enjoy getting food from.

Decent but not amazing. I have eaten at every Thai place in the area, and I would say this place ranks as acceptable and about what might be considered standard. I did enjoy my food, but wasn’t overly impressed. The salad was a little bit less than impressive, and the stir fry was decent. I wouldn’t mind coming back again.

Only been here once but it was pretty good! I got the pad woon sen instead of the typical pad Thai. It was delicious and they gave a big portion! The prices aren’t too bad either. My friend took me here cuz it’s his favorite Thai place. I want to come back here and try their other dishes too!

Pretty standard Thai food. They are open pretty late(2AM I believe) so that was a plus when I needed my late night snack. However, the waiter at the restaurant is not very friendly. We came in and were looking at the menu and since it was getting late he rushed us and told us we had to order right away. One of our friends went to get cash(because the waiter said he would only take cash) and the waiter wouldn’t even wait for him to get back to order. We ended up ordering for our friend. The food itself was pretty good. I probably would’ve rated it 4 stars if it weren’t for the service.

I’m a fan of their basil fried rice. Their food is very tasty. I have not ever been disappointed. My first time to this restaurant was during Freshman year. I think it was my first restaurant ever on the AVE. I have gone back multiple times with multiple different people. I have even taken my family here and now boyfriend. They’re very kind and the price and taste passes for me! After 10, it’s cash only! My Personal Restaurant Rating Key One star: the food was bad and I had a negative experience. Two star: I had a more negative experience and would not come here again but the food was good so I may. Three store: Everything is good except one thing. Example-the food is good, the price is more reasonable but the atmosphere is lacking class. Or the food is good, the atmosphere is good, but they over charged us. These three stars are actually my favorite types of restaurants to go eat at if the reason is due to the atmosphere because they are usually delicious and reasonably priced. Four stars: Everything is great, food and experience. However the price is definitely on the upper end. I would not recommend this first to Obama unless he didn’t like my five stars. These are restaurants you can take your boss or your mother-in-laws to impress them, however they still don’t fit into the five star category. A bit fancier than my three stars, hence I don’t often eat here unless there is an occasion for it or there is a groupon that gives me a bit of a discount! Five stars: I would recommend this to Obama. The price may be on the upper end but the experience and the taste is so exquisite, it is actually worth every nickel and dime.

4.5 stars: As a regular here(like at least once or twice a week!) it is quite welcoming when some of the cook and server recognizes you your bf and your preferred orders! Compared to most Thai places on the ave, Thaiger Room, in my opinion is a SOLID choice! I am a fan of their pad kee maos especially since it has a great variety of vegetables! Pad thai or Panang Curry can be great choices too!(: Especially with long lines and distant location from Thai Tom, convenience and good food can’t be beat! My favorite thai place in UD(: Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because service can be a miss with some of their servers and cash only policy at night!! Other than that, LOVEIT!

I feel bad for people whose only option for Thai food is Thaiger Room, and even worse for the folks that think this is good and authentic Thai. I used to like eating here after studying, it was cheap and satisfied my Thai cravings! But as of late the dishes have not been as good and the waiting staff treat their customers poorly. My pineapple fried rice did not taste fresh and my sliced carrots were still very hard. It was also way too spicy for a two star plate. It was almost like the spiciness was used to cover up the lack of flavor. The worst part of the experience was receiving my Thai tea. I’ve been craving some and took a huge sip, but it was sour! It tasted spoiled. I gave it back and the waiter begrudgingly took it away with a scowl on his face. Nasty is the word I’d use to describe not only his attitude but also the food they serve.
