They tried to charge $ 1.63 for a bottle of water when it’s marked $ 1.00 on the sign. This would normally be ok, but it’s Saturday night, my girlfriend is drunk and clearly needs water. Also, they should not assume people who look Asian no habla espanol.

Food was great, no complaints. However there was some whacked out bum talking to herself and bothering customers. I almost had to deliver her a kick to the chest but refrained. The manger didn’t have thick enough skin to tell her to beat it. If it’s not a paying customer they shouldn’t be loitering. Work on it… Two stars for the uncomfortable meal & the fact that I had to exchange words with a crack head. Thanks del mar… I’ll probably eat here again.

Food was fine, service was alright. Management needs to take better care of the bums that linger around. My eating experience was ruined due to the worthless bum that was arguing with guests and friends of mine. Please kick them out next time, if they aren’t customers why are they hanging around?

I lived right across the street from this place, honestly the only thing this taco place had to offer was extremely late night food/snacks for clubbers and bar hoppers. They’re open until about 3? am and basically on weekends all the bar hoppers or clubbers come here to eat a drunk meal. The food isn’t great, it’s kept in a heating pan all day and you can tell it was prepped hours and hours before, nothing here is fresh. Honestly chipotle blows this place out of the water, but honestly at least they’re open late and available late at night. I give this food joint 2 stars due to their lack of cleanliness and I feel like they’d have a lot of health violations if Washington forced them to post their health score like California does.

It really doesn’t deserve 3 stars for the food quality, but they are awfully convenient after a fun evening out in Belltown. The food is mediocre, but at 2am it hits the spot. I’ll come back again and again, and wonder why I keep going back every time. Sure sounds good though after cocktails.

Love this place after a late night of drinking. Where else can I get some fat burritos at 2AM… Either that or same old hot dog stands.

I duck in here all the time! Healthy, quick, clean, quiet, saves-the-day. Plus, they are going to start composting all their bowls, plates and utensils. Love it.

I agree — what IS with the negative reviews of this place? They just brought back the shrimp tacos here — which is REALLY like having a taco version of a New Orleans Po’ Boy sandwich — HHmmHHhhmmmmHmmm!!! Yummy!!! :D AND, this Taco Del Mar is open until 3am on Fridays & Saturdays, which is great for needing some reasonably priced late-night drunk food.

Jeez… what’s with the hater reviews on this Taco Del Mar? Came here for a quick bite before heading to work… Ordered: Taco salad w/beef, sour cream, salsa, and guacamole + a Snapple: $ 9.00 Not cheap, but not overpriced. Excellent service! The food quality wasn’t bad — everything was fresh, and the taco shell was perfectly crisp. Taco Del Mar was a staple for me in High School in the 90’s — not so much anymore, but I’d rather eat here then a fast food burger joint!

seriously? people really eat this? i imagine a central headquarters where meat, veggies, beans, etc all get dumped out of tanker trucks and then the individual restaurants bring in 5 gallon buckets each day for supplies.

Living stumbling distance right next to Taco Del Mar when its 3 in the morning on a Saturday Night and all you want is a MONDOWETBURRITO filled with all your dreams come true, is the moment you realize that living in absurd Belltown could not be any more Fucking Perfect, or better. I have had this drunken epiphany far too many a times. That is all.

Okay, when I started doing this I promised not to write about national chains because, well, it’d be a waste of time to read. We have Taco del Mar in Fremont(CA), so what’s the big deal? The big deal is not Taco del Mar itself. It’s the fact that I haven’t had a decent burrito in a looong time. Yeah, there’s Rockin’ Burrito across the street, but it sucks. Really sucks. Half the damn thing is cabbage lettuce. Eating that burrito is like telling your body a really bad lie. So yeah, perhaps by California standards this burrito I’m eating(«Mojito Burrito» — steak, rice, beans, salsa, sour crème, guac, lime) isn’t anything to write home about(haha) at all. But it does the job. Boy, does it do the job. Too bad they don’t have horchata. I don’t know who you have to kill to get one of those around here.

I just learned that Taco Del Mar’s motto is «Load A Big Fat One.» So, in the spirit of Jessi’s review, load up a fatty or two, smoke ‘em, and you just might be hungry enough to eat here and enjoy it*. *Probably not, but it’s so illogical it just might work!

Although this is not my favorite TDM in Seattle, I have always had pretty good food here. I like to stick with the burritos or the baja bowls here, and usually have the pork mole or chicken. Another good item I have had here is the Chicken and ground beef cheese enchilada, and having them put some of the white sauce in it along with the cheese; it is really good. Dip it in some guacamole, and it is awesome. Use some imagination when you eat out… it really does work.

First off, I think that Shane was talking about a different Taco Del Mar in his review. He mentioned it being in Pioneer Square, while this one is in Belltown. «But so what? What’s the difference?» you might be asking. In this case a big one. Let me preface my review of this particular TDM by saying that I usually like most TDM’s. But one thing I have found is that the quality of the food is VERY inconsistant from restaurant to restaurant. Some are great, some are just ok, and others are pretty horrible. This one I would have to say falls into the«just ok» category when it comes to food. Not bad, but not one of the better ones I’ve been to. But the food isn’t the reason I am about to rip the crap out of this place. For that continue on to the next paragraph. THESERVICEATTHISTACODELMARISHORRIBLE. I work just a few blocks from the place, so I’ve been there more than a couple dozen times. I never got a great vibe from the employees, but whatever, I just ignored it. But the more an more I went there, the more it was apparent just how rude and unfriendly they are. The employees take their time and will flat out pretend not to see you when you are waiting. While making your taco or burrito or whatever it is, they at times will act annoyed at the slightest request. I can’t tell you how many times a couple of the employees there have rolled their eyes if I ask for lime or cilantro. When you buy a burrito, it comes with chips. They never give you chips and if you dare ask for them, they will sarcastically sigh and slowly walk and grab them for you. I just can’t stand the employees at this place! It’s not all of them, just a couple. But they are there enough of the time to make me hate this place with a passion. I now walk 4 extra blocks out of my way to go to a different Taco Del Mar. That’s what I think of this place.

If I could give negative stars i would. The service isn’t bad but the food is HORRIBLE. Bland rice, stale tortillas and unseasoned meat are the cornerstones of this poor representation of Mexican food. The burritos are mostly the before-mentioned rice and the salsa tastes like some took V-8 and crished tomatoes. Taco Bell is far superior(and I hate Taco Bell) Go to Mama’s on 2nd Ave.

Yes I gave it five stars and yes I know it is not exactly gourmet or even locally owned but hey good people go a long way. As I stated before I do agree that it is kind of silly to review a corporate chain BUT if there is a good reason then WHATTHEHELL! This Taco Del Mar is hands down my favorite, the staff are very friendly, the cool little tiki bar feel is very cozy and they are always very kind and professional. Just being located in Pioneer Square has it’s challenges but being open past two AM brings a whole new set of challenges. These very professional employees put up with a lot of crap each night and they do it with a smile on their faces and while remaining focused on quality and customer service. Even if you have a Taco Del Mar you frequent you should take a minute to stop by here one night and say hi, they will treat you with respect no matter how drunk you are and you will always leave full.
