One of the worst Subways in Seattle. Who really puts three olives on a foot long sandwich. Very disrespectful employees!

I went to this Subway for lunch on a week day. I had a very nice friendly professional woman make my sandwich and it was seriously one the the best Subway sandwiches I’ve ever had. I was so impressed so I came on here to leave a great review kind of stunned at all the bad reviews before mine. I think part of the problem is that mostly people leave negative reviews a whole lot easier than good reviews. That’s just the way people are. Plus, my experience could have been that I got a particularly good employee, or owner. Maybe more training needs to be provided, but I love this little Subway on Seneca.

The hours listed on google(open til midnight) are not correct. I learned this the hard way after purposely waiting until eleven on a weeknight so my boyfriend could have a fresh sandwich when he got home late from work. I was frustrated, but willing to forgive, knowing that businesses sometimes have a hard time changing their hours online. I noted at that time that the posted hours stated they are open til eleven everyday. Just to be sure, I called around 8 today, and was reassured by the employee I spoke with that they would be open til eleven today. I arrived to locked doors 55 minutes before posted and communicated closing time. I’ve yet to successfully eat here, but it’s not for lack of trying. It’s really quite incredible how embittered a little frustrating thing like that can make one feel.

Very rude and inattentive. Walk a couple blocks to the next one.

I had one of the most horrifying experiences at this location a couple weeks ago. Since the Subway chain does keep a lot of fresh veggies and meats out in the open for extended periods of time, I don’t find it too unusual(despite being a little unappetizing) if I see one or two fruit flies flying around. I don’t mind overlooking it, typically. However, two weeks ago I walked in to this particular location, past the two employees outside who were smoking DIRECTLY in front of the doorway, and one of them followed me in to wait on me after I passed. Despite the doorway-smoking being totally unprofessional, what actually horrified me was the MASSIVE family of fruit flies occupying the veggie section. They were literally everywhere, there were at least 30 – 40 of them in total. It was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever, EVER seen, at any restaurant. The most unfortunate part was I had been looking at my cell phone and didn’t notice them until I had already called out my usual bread/meat/cheese selection and the employee had popped it into the toaster oven. I was too polite/wimpy to cancel my order and walk out, so I paid for the sandwich to-go with no toppings, and ended up throwing out most of it when I got home. I just couldn’t get the image of all the fruit flies out of my head. Needless to say, I will never, ever be returning again.

I agree with the bad comments about this restaurant. The customer service is so horrible at this establishment!!! What is sad is that people will still go here because Subway is a nationwide chain. The workers act as if you are inconveniencing them to even ask any questions. If it is so irritating to work I am sure there are plenty people who are in need of a job that would love to take their places. I work at a hotel near by and will never recommend any of our guests go here.

This review is not about the food. A subway sandwich is a subway sandwich. I am always one to support the service industry, having worked in it throughout my college years. There is rarely a time when I don’t leave a tip, even at a fast food joint with a tiny plastic tip jar. The man who made my sandwich this morning looked like he wanted to kill me from the beginning. I asked him if the Steak, Egg, and Cheese was a 5 dollar footlong and he just stared at me menacingly. I understand that people probably ask him that question all day everyday, but it doesn’t mean I’m a complete moron for not memorizing the entire Subway menu. Now I won’t get a chance to because I’m vowing to never give Subway another dime. Extreme? Yes. Don’t care.

This is the third time I have went in in 3 weeks. The first time, no gluten-free bread, left without food. Second time, they had bread, but refused my subway text for free sandwich so had to pay for the meal. Today, I was there at 7:06, tried to open the door, it wasn’t open, locked. Knocked on the door 2 – 3 times, no response, the employee wouldn’t look up. A minute goes by, I try again. She looks up and says, I am not open. I indicate seven with my fingers, point to the sign and am told, I just got here, I am not open. This is frustrating all the way around, poor service, poor inventory and lack of participation. Original review I filed a complaint with Subway, and got an email from manager. Below is my response. Called today and said they trained employees but didnt’t even realize that I was inside the store being ignored. Was also told maybe I should be 5 minutes later rather on time because they can’t always open on time. Really, my schedule and appointments for start time for work is far less important than a retail business being open on time? HISEMAILTOME Thank you for your comment about my store 29342 at 501 Seneca St here in Seattle. I do apologize for you experience. The employee was just opening the store and had many things to do to get the store ready for business, but he certainly should have greeted you and explained that he would be with you as soon as possible. You are correct, this is poor customer service and my manager will be speaking to him and explaining the correct behavior to him. I hope you will give us another try in the future. Yours EMAILTOMANAGER I have tried to call but couldn’t get you. I was very frustrated by this employee. He had no motivation and didn’t move with any sense of urgency or purpose. When he saw me outside, he didn’t even acknowledge and for someone who couldn’t open the doors on time, why would turning on the radio and the open signs become a priority. I was inside the store when he was turning everything on. Your location serves commuters and by failing to provide a prompt, courteous, and swift service guarantees low business.

It’s a subway… so you know what you are going to get. I will say though, that the staff here are generally very friendly and helpful.

Pros: Quick, relatively inexpensive food, convenient location. Cons: Guy behind the counter kept trying to hit on me and my roommate. :(

this subway was conveniently located next door to my hotel. i was debating if i should order room service but after looking on Unilocal i luckily decided to wander outside my room lol. it was dead for a monday night so i had no issues with service. the guy working was actually very nice. i got a sweet onion chicken teryaki(which isn’t on the $ 5 footlong menu) and everything went smoothly with ordering. i would have asked for easy sauce if i had known he was gonna squeeze the crap out of the bottle but nothing a little napkin patting won’t fix! all the ingredients were fresh and i am one happy camper. i will definitely be back if i’m ever too lazy to cross the street out of my hotel. unfortunately, i was super pooped from flying and overslept so no wandering around pike’s place for me :(

Its rare that I leave my building to grab lunch but I decided to take a walk and grab lunch at subway since its about a 2 blocks away and get some excercise in. So I tell the lady I wanted a Veggie Delite on wheat. She cuts the wheat bread and places turkey on it and I stood there confused and wondered if that was someone elses order. So I tell her again I wanted a veggie delite and she removes the Turkey and passes the bread down to the next person. My thought here is what if Im a Vegan/Vegetarian and the meat just touched my bread and she didnt even offer to get me a new bread. So I ignore that incident and moved on and the next person which she asked me what I wanted on my sandwhich. Mind you that Im a person who usually purchases pre-made sandwhiches. So this is all new to me, and I get very flustered when theres a large selection.(I usually default to Tuna Sandwhich or the Meatball Sandwhich.) So I tell her everything minus onions and peppers, so she puts everything on but then she got all crazy on me when I told her to also exclude the bell peppers. I wouldnt have interupted her if she just went through the procedure of asking if I wanted each item individually. If she wasnt handling my sandwhich I would’ve said something about her attitude. Dont take your anger out on the customer because you dont want to be a Sandwhich Artist The food was ok but the customer service sucked, 2 thumbs down

This is the first time I’ve been to this Subway and it is the best subway I’ve had in at least a year. The great staff, fresh ingredients, and the nice environment and location makes this a wonderful place.

I only stopped in here because it was on the way back to the hotel(was in town on business) and the hotel food was awful. I needed to have something for lunch, the Subways I’ve eaten at before have been ok, so I figured why not. Must say — the food was fine. Its Subway — its not a gourmet NY deli. My meatball sub was hot and good and fit the bill for what I wanted at the moment. The girl working behind the counter could use some serious basic customer service improvement however. She got a bit of attitude when I had to ask her again what she said when she told me the cheese options(and I hear just fine — just not when its a half-hearted mumble with a side of sigh). The options she said were american, swiss and provolone. None of which I wanted on my meatball sub. Thank goodness I looked down at the station myself and noticed 2 containers of grated cheese. I pointed and asked if those were cheese — and if one was mozzarella. You would have thought I asked for the finest beluga caviar on the sub. Yes folks — grated chedder and mozzarella ARECHEESE. Imagine that. Someone who asks about the options they have for cheese might want to know about those. Maybe she was having a bad day. Who knows. Like I said — the food was good and cheap and convenient. But there are other Subways and quick lunch options in the neighborhood. If I’m back in Seattle — I’ll be opting for one of those. No need to deal with marginal customer service.
