I offered to buy a bag of chips. To use bathroom. Guy couldn’t handle it. And said needed to buy sandwich to use bathroom. I protested. Followed by asking if he was having a bad day. Response was he was going to call cops. This is why America sucks sometimes sucks

It’s a sad vacation when you go to a city like Seattle and wolf a Subway sandwich at the convention center for lunch. Ah well. It happens. Anyway, if you’ve been to one Subway, you’ve been to them all, but I hadn’t been to a Subway in years so I thought I’d chime in with a little refresher. One thing I relearned the hard way: If you want your sandwich to be just right, you need to have a game plan. I waited in a long line(this conference, you guys – I can’t believe I waited in line to eat at a Subway a three-hour flight from home), and should have had plenty of time to figure mine out. I ordered a six-inch spicy Italian on that satisfying cheese and herbs bread, and then when I got to the topping section, I totally choked. Instead of thinking at all, for even like one damn second, I just said, «I’ll have it with everything.» Do you know what«everything» means at a Subway? It means, like, EVERYTHING. My sandwich was a monstrosity. At the end, I had to add a sauce, and was just like, uh… what’s good? Ended up getting a chipotle mayo or something like that, which was probably heavier than this sandwich required. The girl behind me asked for salt, pepper, oil, and vinegar, and I wished she’d gone ahead of me so I could piggyback on her wisdom. Anyway, the meal was reasonably cheap(although my Diet Coke came with no free refills), and I enjoyed my sandwich even though it spilled veggies into the arms of my sweater every time I took a bite. Service was quick and friendly, and my Subway run fulfilled its purpose. Next time I visit this chain, I hope it’s for a total throwaway meal, and that I remember what I learned. But really, no complaints.

The woman working there on Sunday was knitting. I ordered two flat pizzas and she was just careless and sloppy. Only has the pizza had sauce and the pepperoni’s we just thrown on the pizza in clumps. The worst part was she put the pizzas in a bag and tossed it front of me instead of handing it over. Good help must be hard to find.

I was starving and in a hurry, and it was as decent as any other Subway I’ve been to.

I used to come here a bunch since I work less than 2 blocks away. Unfortunately in December I had an experience which caused me to have issues with the preparation and handling of my food. Due to the location, I am sure the employees aren’t too warm since there is no barrier to protect them from the outside, and therefore they wear warm clothing, including jackets and sweatshirts which have baggy sleeves. The sleeves are what caused the problem. As the employee was preparing my sandwich, their sleeve brushed over my sandwich multiple times, which I pointed out. Eventually I was asked if I wanted a new sandwich, which I affirmed that I did. I sent feedback via Subway’s web site and was contacted by the manager a few days later. She listened to the story and said that she’d address this with the employee. Fast forward to today and I was in the mood for Subway again. So I gave it another chance. There were people in line ahead of me, so I decided to just hang back and watch. There was a different employee there this time, and I watched as she rang up someones meal, removed her gloves and put on clean ones, and then started working on the next person’s sandwich. She needed to scoop the steak out of the container, so she held the container in one hand while scooping with the other. The arm that was doing the scooping had a long sleeve from a sweatshirt on, and as she scooped, the sleeve brushed up against the top of the food container. This is UNSANITARY and a health code violation! So I gave them a chance, but again they didn’t seem to consider the cleanliness of their apparel. I stepped away at that time and headed to the Subway inside Westlake Center. From now on, I will be going to that location even though it’s a little further for me to walk.

Having worked for a law firm at the Convention Center for nearly 10 years, I’ve eaten at many of the restaurants in this neighborhood. Overwhelmingly, this Subway does an excellent job at making me healthy meals to my specifications. In particular, Luwa(Sam) and the early morning gentleman do an excellent job of making me feel at home. They are both always friendly, courteous, and professional, asking me how I’m doing and remembering my favorite meals. Thank you for hiring such great people and keep up the good work!

So so. There’s nothing awful about this Subway, but there’s nothing exceptional about it either. The lines can get really backed up during big events at the Convention center(to be fair, this is true of nearly all of the food establishments there), and the service is friendly, but not extraordinary. The employee — whoever’s on duty, since it’s usually just one person — often seems bored to be there. I understand that it’s not the most thrilling job in the world, but enthusiasm can go a long way to encouraging me to patronize the place.

NOTE: This is the Subway location that is adjacent to the Convention Center and is not your typical neighborhood Subway. There is no indoor seating at this location. They created my sandwich efficiently as ordered. No complaints here and seemed to also be popular with the other Sakura-Con 2012 attendees

judging by the number of reviews here, you can tell locals, at least local Unilocalers, don’t really patronize this place. it’s perfectly understandable because it’s at the convention center. and easily it’s probably 99% conventioners, tourists, and out of towners that eat here. i went late in the afternoon, well past the normal lunch us local office workers. and the line was pretty long. my buddy got a crêpe from next door while i waited in line. they had 3 or 4 folks behind the counter, toasting, assembling sandwiches, cashiering. all very busy. it’s got to be one of the most profitable subways per square foot in the city. it’s just a kiosk next to the sidewalk. i had the $ 5 flatbread black forest ham. toasted. my very first one. someone significant in my life has been bugging me to try one for the past month :) she’s obsessed with them. and indeed, it is a very good sandwich. i get lots of veggies, cuz rare is a vegetable i don’t mind consuming. mustard and light mayo. i think i should have gotten the full blown mayo. no major complaints at all with this subway. for all intents, it’s pretty much like every other subway i have ever been to. the folks were nice. maybe they were a little slow, but it wasn’t a big deal at all.

This place is the love that they make my sandwhich super perfect, and they don’t stuff it with a bunch of sauce and veggies. Whooo hoo

The guy was a dick, he started it with a «what do you want» and didn’t ask if we wanted our subs toasted and then got all pissy when we did. There was no thank you or anything creating this awkward feeling like the deal wasn’t completed. The bread was spongy, the condiments were inconsistent, there were like two olives and a huge amount of pickles. It’s the worst subway sandwich I’ve ever had. Fuck this subway.
