This is my local Subway. I’ve been to more than my share of these things, and this one certainly doesn’t stand out. Ingredients are not the worst I’ve ever had in a Subway. The people making sandwiches are all pretty decent. One guy is super quiet and hard to hear, but I don’t have anything against him. If you like Subway, and you’re in the area and need one, this place gets it done.

This Subway, is hands-down, the best Subway I’ve ever been to. I’m a fan of the meatball sub and they always have perfectly fresh delicious wonderful meatballs ready… As opposed to the other two subways that are in close proximity, this Subway and their staff are awesome. I’ve gone to those other Subways at various times throughout the day and night and I’ve completely stopped going there because they have meatballs about half the time. It’s infuriating when a business does not have some of their product available for customers. If I was an owner of those other Subways I would be livid at what my staff were doing. Anyways, I love this particular Subway. It’s the only when I go to now…

Open 24 hours! Great place to grab a quick bite during weird hours without the fear of the unsanitary. It is exactly what you think a Subway would be. Great thing is, I have never heard someone get drunk and scream, «take me to the nearest Subway», so it is nice to have a calm place to grab a bite on the late night! Clean staff and restaurant, viva la Subway!

We all know Subway quality is inconsistent. Their sandwiches are generally decent, but a few places screw it up entirely. This is one of those. It’s all in the lettuce. The employee served me from a bucket they was visibly past its prime. Perhaps the preservatives had worn off; perhaps they hadn’t covered it. I don’t care. What I care about is that they had another container of lettuce, this looking much fresher. Also — stores get their lettuce in packages, and it’s trivial to pull one out. I would have preferred they tossed the wilted ones in compost. The olives were also strange. They tasted metallic, as olives do when sitting in an open aluminum can for too long. Perhaps they had been out too long, or not covered. The result was a disgusting sandwich, among the worse I’ve had. I go with a veggie delite so the lettuce determines the overall quality. I paid $ 6 for an entrée composed in large part of spoiled ingredients. The franchise model means that owners benefit from the brand name without ensuring quality, and without accountability to someone who can hold them to task. It’s time for Subway management to randomly audit their locations, or else for us consumers to vote by avoiding this place.

Was disappointed that this subway did not honor the JanuANY $ 5 footlong sub. Went in for a terriyaki footlong since it was on the commercial and they were not honoring it. I will not go back. I think this is very cheap of this subway to not honor commercials if the customer is asking for it. I ended up spending much more money than I expected. Staff was good, but I am thinking the owner needs to change his business practices if he wants others to return again.

24hr subways, are awesome. I only come in on the graveyard shifts when i get off of work. and i always see the happiest man to be working at this location.(cant remember his name). But he sure knows how to make a real good sandwhich.

I usually like subway. I have never had bad experience with them until now. The Subway in Ballard is the worst subway I have ever been too. The staff is rude, ran poorly, and are not about customer service. I have tried giving this subway a few try’s and I will no longer go there. I will recommend people to not come here and if anything go to a different subway. Having a rude staff is unacceptable.

This shop definitely deserves 3.5 but I can’t really go to four star-town because it’s still Subway, where most things taste the same. Being as this is September er, «Subtember» where a foot long sammie is just $ 5, I had to throw my two cents in. The folks at our Ballard location are very friendly, and even had the Seahawks game on when we visited, cheering along with the rest of us when we scored a touchdown. I always order a veggie max, no cheese on wheat with all the veggies, including jalapenos and banana peppers. My beau favors the BMT, which is the distant cousin-once removed, of a hoagie. Everyone was fast, efficient and helpful and despite a long line, we managed to get in and out under 10 minutes, as we had important football business to attend to. Good job kids, keep it up!

Love that this location is open 24 hours! Was with a friend and we were starving at 1am, so we decided to head over here. It was not busy, of course, so parking was easy and we got our order taken quickly. The counter guy was nice and personable and we got our sandwiches exactly as we wanted. I do wish though that they’d go back to having all foot long sandwiches for $ 5…I can’t keep track of which one is the special for the month or I just don’t care for the one they have for the deal. All in all, I would go back for a late night, healthy snack :)

It’s a Subway… not exactly a foodie place, but… – It’s clean. – It’s cozy. – Cheap, easy bites. – They usually hook up my veggie sandwiches with lots of ingredients. – The staff is friendly. and most importantly… Drumroll please… The whole staff appears to have good hygeine!!! Yes, this is important to me… if you have dirty fingernails(even in gloves), please keep your hands the hell away from my sandwich.

As tempted as I was to get a plate of teriyaki after working out at Olympic, I stepped just past Sunny’s and instead went to Subway – and how pleased was I! I was kind of in a rush because I had to be somewhere in 15 minutes, but the ONE subway artist(hehe) was super quick, but didn’t at all seemed rushed – if that makes any sense. I ordered my usual 6″ turkey on wheat with just veggies and I got my sammy in just under 5 minutes. This location is right on the corner of Market and Leary, across from Majestic Bay. There isn’t a huge amount of seating, but it’s definitely in a good place in Ballard. I always enjoy my subway sammies!

I drop in occasionally at various Subways. I am especially fond of this one because they have several employees who have been working there more than a year. That means a satisfactory sandwich well made, and someone who does their job without telling me their life story. Two bits of advice: During the lunch hour(11:30 to 1:30) the place is very busy and there is a wait; and during the early evening(5:00 to 7:00) there are sometimes waits of a few minutes. But the food is always fresh, the staff always prepared, and the add-ons always plentiful.

While slamming on a personal project, needing nourishment, I headed for this Subway(the closer one, on Market, has a snarly young woman — didn’t have the energy or interest to have to wade through THAT). The line, in this small shop, was really long! I noticed the worker behind the counter, pleasant, and focused on the task at hand. I had a very pleasant stay(a table cleared out, just in the nick of time!), and basked in the relaxed atmosphere created by Dusty, the lone worker, doing such a great job for all of us!

For the North/South directionally centric Ballardites, 15th Avenue is the main drag in town. And now that the 24-hour Ballard Denny’s has been replaced with, well, urban blight, late night fine dining options are more limited along the Strip. Ballard Subway once was also a 24 hour option, but they’ve changed their hours more often than Ashlee Simpson changes hair colors. However, they’re still a viable evening option and currently close at midnight. If you’re suffering from later hunger pangs, you can take the less-nutritious walk of shame up 15th for the Fourth Meal at the corner of 15th and 60th Street. As for this Subway, you pretty much get what you expect. With the newer hours, it has lost a little bit of the 2 am charm: I still remember fondly when the homeless man standing behind me asked if I could spare some of the lettuce from my footlong. Although the $ 5 footlong special is now limited(although the commercial is seared into my brain for eternity), I am pleased to note that the Spicy Italian remains one of the cheaper options. *FYI: The Ballard Subway is closed through the rest of June for a store upgrade. I’m expecting a maitre d’ to greet me at my next visit.

I’m about to make a sad statement that might get me kicked off Unilocal forever. Here goes nothin’: I believe I’ve ate more 6″ turkey Subway sandwiches(on wheat, with Pepperjack, fully loaded but hold the jalapenos) than I have any other single item in my life. It started when I was a young, impressionable 18-year-old at UW. That first year in the dorms was fueled almost entirely by pop tarts, Top Ramen, Pagliacci pizza, Skittles from The Back Door, nasty drinks from dorky frat houses, and Subway sandwiches. These days I’m a *little* more careful about getting more vital nutrients into my system, but Subway remains a dietary staple. It’s cheap, it’s pretty healthy, and I know what to expect. Given my consistent patronage, I consider myself something of an expert on sandwich artistry. Few things make my eyes bulge out of my head in a fixated, angry stare like witnessing a poor sandwich assemblage. I really appreciate even, efficient veggie distribution, which is why I was so pleased with my experience this evening. This was my first visit to this particular Subway, but rest assured, it won’t be my last. My sandwich artist was friendly, but not overly talkative, and rapidly whipped together my 6″ in under a minute(I kept it old skool tonight and opted not to go the toasted route). Plus, this place was totally clean and well-stocked — nary a yellow tomato in the tomato bin. Next time you’re in the hood and feel like a plain ‘ol Sub sand, check this place out.

How do you wake a sleeping subway employee @ 5:00am? I don’t know either so I left.

Four stars for Packin’ my Turkey 6″ on Wheat with so much green that even the Lucky Charms Leprechaun would be proud. This one is close to home, there’s never much of a wait, and it’s cleaner than your average Subway Franchise. Props for that. You want crazy wild ‘rock your face’ off speed from a Truly Legendary Sandwich Artist, go see the guy at on the one on 2nd and Wall. He’s the fastest I’ve ever seen. Honestly, it’s a sight to be seen!

This is the closest Subway to my work and since I am generally trying to eat more healthy, I visit this location often. However, I find it rather a shame that it is the closest and best option I have because it is one of the worst Subways I have ever visited. Like the other person who has also reviewed this location, I agree that the employees are completely unfriendly. It’s like talking to a cold, dead fish. They ask you what you want, make it, and ring you up without any sort of smile or inquisition as to how your day has been going. They don’t say anything other than to ask you what condiments you want, etc. Usually I am fairly friendly to fast food employees(any restaurant employees actually, to be honest) because I’m sure it’s not fun to be taking people’s orders all day and dealing with rude customers. However, after several attempts at being friendly and pleasant with the employees here, I’ve cut my friendliness down to zero and am simply short and civil. I come in, get my sub, and leave. In addition to the lack of interest and caring, the employees make the subs at a blinding speed… which leads to shoddily made sandwiches. There is one woman who I have to repeatedly ask to give me more mustard, lettuce, etc because she just throws on a half-assed amount without really caring about whether or not it’s an appropriate amount. I get tired of having to say«Can I get some more lettuce, please?» when I come in the shop all the time and by now she should know that I want a decent amount of l lettuce(and really, everyone else wants a decent amount as well!). The employees also like to push the meal deal and will often ring up chips and a drink with my sub while also in the process of asking me if I want it. I often say no, and they have to spend several moments taking those extras off the bill. Seems like a waste of time to me. The bags of potato chips they have available are often rather crumpled and when I open my bag on one of these occasions, the chips are all smashed. To me, the only really redeeming qualities about this Subway are it’s location to my work(Fishermen’s Terminal), the fact that there is rarely a line to get a sub(I wonder why!), and that the subs always taste good and the toppings appear to be fresh. I would consider giving this location one star, but I do go here all the time and the subs do taste good once I get my appropriate amount of toppings on them. I have a feeling I will be traveling to the Magnolia Subway more often now, as I visited that location recently and it was far far better than this one. ***EDIT4÷25÷08: They’ve hired a new guy named Steven who is amazingly friendly and wishes everyone a great day when they leave the counter. It’s amazing to compare his bright attitude with the grunts and garbled mumblings of the other employees. The guy even wished me a good day when I left… and he was outside having a smoke break! I have a feeling he won’t last too long… those downers will probably crush his positive spirit. But hey, at least he made today’s visit(and hopefully those in the future) a little bit better!
