I finally had the chance to come down here on a Saturday afternoon with my boys. I’m sad to hear that the shop is either looking for new management or closing, as it’s a cute space and I don’t believe there is another fabric shop in this area. You won’t find everything you need here, but you will find, I think, quality fabrics and items. I was also surprised to find a decent sized yarn collection(I don’t knit so there wasn’t an interest for me there, but for someone looking for what appeared to be nice yarn and tools, check it out.). The owner is really nice and helpful — and very, very understanding of my one and a half year old son’s need to zoom around the store, rearranging items as he felt was necessary. He’s a busy little body at this age, so it was nice that store was pretty well arranged so that he couldn’t get into too much trouble(I do spend a lot of time putting things back on shelves for him everywhere we go!). Prices are reasonable. Parking is free outside the shop and in the surrounding neighborhood. On a Saturday afternoon, it wasn’t too hard to find somewhere for us to park, and we ended up only 2 blocks away. I suggest calling in advance to make sure the store is open, or arrive with a plan to poke around the other neighborhood shops. We showed up around 3 to find that they were closed until 3:15 due to lunch. Luckily, we found the random home décor shop down the alley.

This place by far has the best fabric selection in Seattle! While the selection isn’t huge, it is extremely well curated! Finally, great fabric in the south end of Seattle. Everyone who lives fabric should visit this store an support this local business!

This place is awesome. The owner is super sweet and patient, and she has some really neat fabrics, I love the In The Beginning series. Though this place is more expensive than Joann Fabrics, it is the same price point as other quality quilting stores, and there are a lot of ways to get the most bang for your buck. Be sure to check out the sale section for some great discounts, at 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40% off. You also get 10% off every purchase for the rest of the year after you spend $ 200 in a year. A great deal if you sew a lot since I am already at the $ 150 mark, and a great incentive to buy more fabric at the beginning of the year before the more typical holiday buying season. And if you show the Check-In Offer, you get a free fat quarter as well. A great addition to Columbia City, my only complaint is now I long for an apparel fabric store as amazing as Stash is for quilting cottons and flannels.

I shopped at Stash last week. The quality fabric selection is extensive and reasonably priced; the shop is very inviting and Stephanie was very helpful. It is a great addition to Columbia City — I anticipate many more visits!

I recently stumbled upon Stash(thanks to a sign placed on Rainier Ave.) and loved it. I’m a knitter, but I passed right over the yarn stash. Instead, I was drawn to the colors and patterns of the fabric, which appeals to people looking for something other than traditional muted, floral patterns.(Example — fabric with outlines of San Francisco imagery!) Seeing all the fabric made me want to run home and lug my sewing machine out to the repair shop. Like the other reviewer said, it was a treat to see the owner’s son ambling around the store. He crawled right up to my son’s stroller and gave him a warm welcome. Thanks for bringing this store to the south end!

We love having this shop in the neighborhood! Stephanie is nice and very helpful — we especially love that her infant son is there to greet us. Stash is still getting it’s inventory all laid out and stocked up, so we’re looking forward to coming back and seeing what’s new. We did already purchase super cute organic cottons for a baby quilt.
