Starbucks

Reliable Starbucks with really good staff — they are on point in the mornings. Orders are processed quickly and we’re out the door in a flash with our delicious caffeinated beverages. They also have a decent sized seating area. The coffee service bar is a little small, almost one person at a time unless you don’t mind getting cozy and reaching over people. Usually plenty of parking on the street in the mornings too, which makes it easy to stop in.

There aren’t tons of outlets here so just keep that in mind if you need power. In general it seems like it’s not as loud or crowded as the other locations over in UVillage or in the Udistrict (if you’re a student and have tried to get a table at one of these locations you know it can be a real struggle). Bathroom is pretty clean. The baristas were very friendly and fast. If you can snag an outlet by one of the bench seats, it seems like a great spot to get some work done.

A great Starbucks — extremely friendly employees — «where everybody knows your name» i.e. «Cheers»! Only drawback is that it is hard to park = with construction — otherwise the joint is quite pleasant and lovely IMO

The staff were writing names and drink orders on the cups with red Sharpies instead of their standard black during my mid-​morning visit today. This is culturally insensitive. I attempted to contact the store manager to tell him directly but was told he is out today and going on vacation for a week after that.

Do not come here for reliable internet. You can barely grab speeds of 2−5mbps. Seems like everyone is using their free wifi and its not being contained for those actually in the café. Slow speeds all around.
Makes me wish I didn’t use my giftcard here, which is the only reason I stopped by. There are so many better cafes to go to in Wallingford!
Baristas are nice and they seems to have a decent clearance section for their merchandise, but it’s still Starbucks quality.

The music is exquisitely Putumayo-​engineered to be anodyne yet to offer an occasional gem –who knew Linda Ronstadt did such an amazing cover of Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered? (Maybe that’s anodyne too –but I’m a sucker for Rogers and Hart) The baristas’ smiles genuinely lack that quality of a thin veneer over petulant contempt that has ceased to surprise me in this town. Tables are comfortable for working/​studying/​reading. Big windows cast a nice light. Since they started the coffee/​tea price inflation war 20 years ago, they can now sit comfortably at the low end of that continuum.
There’s actually a great diversity (of white people) in the place. You don’t have to be a Lawrence Ferlinghetti pretender. Now you can roll your kids up on a dutch bike! The WiFi is good, so you can explore your first-​world, yuppie angst in an over-​educated, self-​reflexive Unilocal!review on your MacBook Pro!
You brought café culture to the common man! And now it seems so… common.
I guess that’s it. One can’t escape the sense that one is being carefully manipulated by a Skinnerian intermittent reward system. You resolve the nice seating, affordable and consistent (good enough, but never noteworthy) drinks with the jangling frappuccino machine, the oven timer that sounds like a submarine dive horn by realizing that you’re in a fast food joint.

Walked in and felt I was sent back in time to a college cafeteria. The space is not on the cozy side and there are lots of small snugged together tables that are not that comfortable. There are two comfy armchairs by a window but that’s about it.
The baristas seemed ok though I just got an iced tea so I can’t comment on their coffee making prowess. My main problem is that the wifi was HORRIBLE so I will not comeback there again.

This is a great, quiet Starbucks with a lot of space. There are two sides (one with the comfy chairs and one side with more tables and working space). The staff have always been friendly when I come in and it’s a great spot to get some work done. Every time I come in it’s never been too jammed packed with people and noise and there’s always some form of parking outside and the 44 bus picks up right around there.

So here I am randomly on a Wednesday evening. I’m in Wallingford for a doctor’s appointment so decided to kill some time here.
I ordered at chai with no water at 130 not too hot. Ya I’m a baby and just like to be able to chug my drink down.
I got my drink and took a seat. I sipped my drink and ya it’s a little hot but hey it will cool down right? So no big deal.
I’ve been sitting here for maybe 5 – 10 minutes and the barista (gent with glasses) comes over with a new drink and says sorry but this one is at 130.
OMG?! Really???
How nice of him to remake my drink! This is the best Starbucks hands down. Come here and you will not be let down. I always leave here happy annnnd that is not always the case with Starbucks.

Always great service and great consistent coffee! Love my new local store! The setup is at first a bit odd but if you are there to study/​work you have one side of the store with lots of outlets and if you are there to hang out you have the more social and less business like side!
I really love going here on a regular basis. The people are just plain cool!

Why review a starbucks? Their menus are the same and service is almost always good. However, the barristas at this starbucks store are some of the friendliest of them all. Also, it usually isn’t too crowded when I go.

Hey it’s a Starbuck’s – my daughter works at one so if I’m with her I get a ‘partner’ discount. This is kind of a small one that is narrow and seating is very close. It was packed full of people.
A guy rudely yakked on his phone the whole time I was here – not really Starbuck’s fault.
A grandma sat with 3 adorable grandchildren – they were by far better behaved than the galoot on the phone.
As usual the baristas were stellar! (oops – Mom bias)

Now a year and a half later, dozens of check-​ins, multiple vanilla lattes, and a lot more time to appreciate how great this Starbucks location is, I thought it deserved an upgraded review.
Still the menu we have all grown to love at all Sbux locations, but what sets this location apart is the staff and superb customer service. There are definitely a lot of locals who come here and the Sbux team makes an effort to get to know them. You don’t get this at all Sbux locations.
Additionally, this location is always clean (including the bathrooms), very festive (for the holidays right now) and overall is a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
It still gets busy here, so come early if you want to get a good spot with an outlet for your laptop.

Semi-​decent Starbucks. It is on the main stretch of N 45^th St in Wallingford where there are an abundant selection of coffee shops. Uptown Espresso, Tully’s and Fuel are within short distance. There is also a Starbucks at the QFC down the road.
This Starbucks appears to be part of a mixed use building. There is a middle door at the front of the store that leads upstairs to perhaps some 2^nd floor apartments (?). Due to the staircase, there are two seating areas. One on the left side as you enter the store and the other on the right side which appears to have a larger seating area.
There aren’t any comfy leather chairs or large sofas here. Though there is a comfy long bench on the right hand side. You order the coffee near the back of the store. There is also a large selection of coffee and tea related items sold here.
Had a grande latte ($ 3.35) that was okay. Typical Starbucks experience. I was really here to get some work done using the free wi-​fi. This Starbucks is actually a good venue for this activity. Though it would be great if they would put up some blinds as the sun shines into the majority of the right side seating area making it dificult to read the computer screen.
Found this Starbucks to be a good work coffee shop option. Though the nuisance of sunshine (I know it sounds ridiculous given the Seattle premium on this) prevents me from giving this Starbucks a higher rating.

I used to enjoy going to this Starbucks — the staff seemed to enjoy themselves and the service they were providing. As staff has changed — as normally happens with Starbucks — service has declined and I do not enjoy going there.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. I have live in Seattle my entire life and go to Starbucks 5+ days a week. I moved to Wallingford almost a year ago and thought I really lucked out living blocks away from this Starbucks. Wrong! I went for a few weeks and each time my drink just wasn’t right and the speed in which everyone moves is slower than mud. I stopped going for a while and then tried again a few months later hoping they had somehow redeemed themselves.
Still not great. Baristas are SUPER slow and when I did actually get my drink in a decent amount of time it was only because some component had been forgotten (no syrup or no foam.) The last time I went in (purely because of convenience) there were 4 people in line ahead of me. The person in front of me in line said «I avoid this place like the plague. They are SO slow.» And sure enough it took over 12 minutes to order and get my drink. I go out of my way now to get my drink everyday at the Everett Starbucks close to my office.

Go here regularly and they’re very friendly and efficient.

I like this Starbucks. Yes, I’m a fan of smaller businesses, but they usually charge me so much extra for soy that to be economical I often find myself at an SBUX using my Duetto card (free soy and syrups!). I think it’s highly unfair that just because of lactose intolerance, I have to spend WAY more money than most on my coffee (seriously, 60 cents per cup of coffee adds up over time!).
Why I like this location:
— though they don’t have soy on the bar, they make up for this by steaming soy milk and putting it into my drip coffee. It’s like having a way cheap latte!
— the staff are extremely nice and always coo over the baby I nanny for (they’re beginning to recognize us). And I do take credit for his cuteness… sometimes.
The only downfall is it’s kind of difficult to maneuver a stroller inside because they have a big display thingymajigger right in the middle of the floor. Oh well… baby Alex and I make do :)

Okay, so I’m a yuppie coffee addict. What of it? I have a carefully choreographed routine of caffeine consumption to uphold. A veinte, nonfat, three-​raw-​sugar DRY cappuccino before work (6:45 am). Another at 9:30 and a pick-​me-​up energy drink around 2:20. ish.
This location rarely disappoints. Maybe it’s because they know me so well (I don’t know if this is good or bad, but they do and that’s that…) that I never actually have to ORDER my drink. They make it right. They Ask me how I’m doing. They’re cool folks, and they have a low turnover rate, so that’s good!
Now if I can just find out how to rent one of the private flats above the shop, I’ll be golden…
