Solid Repair

Complete waste of time and money. Took my Denon Avr700 into his shop about 9 days ago. Told Kevin that this AVR is new and I’ve only had it for less than 6 months. I also described my problem to him. He took a look at the AVR and said although his specialty is vintage audio equipment, but should be able to fix my AVR. Didn’t hear anything for a week, called to check status. He said he will take a look the next day and it should be fixed right away. Called me back the next day told me to pick it up because he can’t fix it. I went back to his place, baffled and asked him what he did. He said: «I took the screw off, then remove the back cover to see if I can see anything. I couldn’t see anything so I put the cover back on so I don’t ruin your warranty.» He had no idea how to fix this type of AVR. He still charged me $ 40 bucks though, just to take the screws off.

After researching amp repair places I chose Solid Repair based on proximity to my home, maybe not the best metric to use but it turned out to be an excellent choice! Kevin is a friendly and professional person and I felt very comfortable leaving my high-​end amplifier for him to repair.
I was impressed with how quickly he diagnosed the issue, I was also impressed at how well he dealt with this extremely complicated amplifier that I have. He had a couple issues with it, but was diligent and continued to work until he found the problem. I thought the charge to repair was extremely fair as well.
I highly recommend Kevin and will be taking my other amps to him for any service they need.
