I hired the Skillet Food Truck to come to our house for my husband’s 50th birthday party. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. The day of the party, to my despair, it rained. Hard. No one wanted to venture outside to get food. The wonderful people at Skillet came inside the house, took orders, and returned back to deliver the food to each of my guests. This was well above and beyond the call of duty. You just don’t get this kind of service anymore!

If you want awesome French Toast, come here!!! I’m pretty specific about what I expect out of French toast — it needs to me super crazy moist from all the custard it’s been soaked in. And that’s exactly what this place serves! AND, the slice of toast is the size of your head! It’s then covered with a thin layer of jam, quite a few thick slices of ham and two eggs. Plus, of course, maple syrup if you choose. Which you do! This place has friendly service and our food was out in no time. It’s clean, stylish and has an open kitchen. It’s very fun to watch the dishes come together!

I was shooting a wedding and the Skillet truck was serving food to the wedding party and guests. I had a bacon burger and mac & cheese, both may have been the best I have ever had. I’m kinda bummed that they’re not on the Eastside much but would certainly make the trek over the bridge just to get some of their awesome food. Try it, you’ll like it for sure.

We were so lucky to have Skillet cater our wedding a couple weeks ago, the food was amazing but what I would like to rave about is the staff! The staff and everyone at Skillet went above and beyond to ensure our day was perfect. They would come to me and my husband through out the night and ask if we needed anything they also noticed who our parents were and gave them the same attention. We were so impressed with all of the staff and their confidence and professionalism through out the whole night. Katie is the main contact for Skillet catering and I have to say she was a pleasure to work with. I consider myself lucky to have been able to work with her. The food was amazing as expected and I still have friends and family talking about it. I would recommend Skillet to anyone who is planning a wedding.

Aw man… track this truck down!!! Don’t pass up the opportunity to grab a bite to eat from this place. Luckily we were in the right place at the right time. Ok, well… I stalked this truck to make sure I was in the right place at the right time, even if it meant trucking down several blocks to get there. We had to get the fried chicken sammy(must get!!). Fennel crusted chicken, jalapeño aioli and kale on a toasted potato bun. We opted for the hand cut fries with sea salt and herbs. Good. Good. Good. These are the indulgences you dream of. The light crust on the chicken provided just the right level of crisp and the jalapeño aioli added a slight flavor kick. The burger is grass fed beef with blue/brie cheese, arugula with bacon jam on brioche. Yes, I did say bacon jam. This was paired with a side of mixed greens. Their greens are topped with mixed fruit and hazelnuts… I would totally get this as a meal if the other food wasn’t so great. The day we went we also benefited from live entertainment. A homeless man confronted my dining companion accusing me of scanning his brain or something. I didn’t think it was so obvious that I was an expert in mind control. LOL. The women taking our order shooed him away and apologized, but I thought it was a pretty interesting experience. Can’t wait to try their brick and mortar location! Maybe the walls will protect others from my brain scanning skills.

Burger, bacon jam, brie & bleu cheese blend, poutine… If those words don’t make your mouth water right now, then just step away from this place. I got«The Burger» — Grass-fed beef, arugula, bacon jam, blue/brie on brioche. It was very well balanced, with rich, creamy cheese, smoky jam, and fresh, peppery arugula. What more could you ask for? They do it right, too. I got it for lunch in Bellevue and wouldn’t suggest getting a full-on burger with poutine — you’d probably pop a pants button… it’s so much food, and crazy rich. I ended up only eating a couple bites of Poutine. It wasn’t REAL poutine, but it is what they say it is — gravy, cheddar, herbs… and the gravy kind of soaks into the fries. It’s really good. I might consider just getting those on a gluttonous lunch day(like this time).

Ohhhhh maaaaannn– This place is good. One of my faves now. So they just opened up DT Seattle and my coworkers and I wanted to try them out so we ventured down there during lunch. I ordered the veggie and a side of fries and to my surprise, I was like«this tiny thing is gonna fill me up!!!» But to my surprise, it did. The veggie patty was DELICIOUS!!! And even better. The fries. OMG the fries… They were sooooo fresh. Ooh just thinking about it makes my mouth water. I was so scared that they made their fries in bacon butter or something because then it wouldn’t be a veggie, would it?! They put some seasoning to their fries and it’s addicting! My coworker had the tomatoe soup for the side(next time I’m going to choose that) because that was the best tomatoe soup I’ve ever had. It was thick, had chunks of tomatoe, mixed with cheese which made everything so creamy… And the tomatoe soup was also super rich. At first, your reaction is «D’awwww only one cup of soup?» But you have it with your tiny burger and surprisingly you’re full!!! What is this, sensu beans or something? Um, yeah, I’m coming back here. Please tell me the fries aren’t fried with bacon grease. Why is it so delicious?

Their new restaurant on 6th& Lenora doesn’t yet appear to have its own page, so this seemed like the best place to leave a review. I ordered«the burger». It was not just rare, but RAW in the middle. I wound up with a mild case of food poisoning from it. Couldn’t eat anything but bread and soup for two days, and a week later, I’m still having issues eating anything that isn’t fairly bland.

Just some frickn cool friendly folks working here, cooking w a serious pair of «onions.» Bold flavors, great execution, good beer. I had the veggie burger this time, and god damn. Farro, lots of rich mushroom, and a sauce that was crazy good. Hands down best veggie burger I’ve ever had. Nicely done gentlemen.

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a food truck. At the Hawks game against the 49ers they server 3 people who ordered after me then proceeded to say it was because they make it to order. Ha ha I ordered poutine aka fries with gravy. Not sure how they make individual gravy to order. Then my brother was one who ordered after me and they gave him a chicken sandwich when he ordered a burger. When I tried to talk to them about it they said go Hawks and basically blames me for their mistake which was basically a F you and told me to go away. I know a chef that works for skillet and he understands service. The guys working The food truck at the game against the 49ers don’t. So I will now let everyone I know that this is the WORST food truck I have ever eaten at and they have no idea about service. I sure hope they don’t run their restaurants this way, but then again based off the service I just received I will never give them my money again. HUGEFAIL on something as easy as fries with gravy I’m sure my nephew who’s 9 can do a better job.

I am a big fan of the skillet in cap hill and the food truck does some awesome work as well! Well worth the 15 minute walk from work for the basic with some delicious poutine fries. They regularly have tasty specials such as tacos, salmon burgers and other tasty noms.

I ate some poutine from the food truck at a Seahawks game. The gravy must have been sitting in the undercooked fries for an hour. It was a sloppy mess and tasted horrible. I usually get a great meal at the restaurant. Avoid the poutine at the food truck.

We used Skillet as our caterer for our wedding this past July, 2015, with their air stream and all! They were exceptional to work with prior to the event — Katie was very communicative, and answered my million questions. She even set up a tasting for my mom and brother since we were from out of town. The food was incredible — we did passed apps, and a full dinner. The sliders, the salmon, the parmesan fingerling potatoes were to die for! The tomato beet salad… everything was scrumptious! They served everything family style, so it fit our backyard wedding perfectly. No one standing in lines to get food. We got so many compliments on the food too! Our first caterer tasting was not so great, so I came into this one a bit uneasy, especially being we weren’t going to fly in for another tasting! But. I couldn’t be happier with our choice. Thank you so so much to Katie, and the crew! Wish I knew all your names! You made our wedding so special and delicious! I wasn’t going to miss THIS meal! THANKYOUTHANKYOU!

Skillet just did the food for our wedding, and people are still freaking out about it. It was so incredibly good! First off, the food was perfect. We had passed appetizers during cocktail hour, with a buffet of fried chicken, pulled pork sandwiches, cajun mac n’ cheese, kale caesar, tomato and beet salad and biscuits for dinner. Everything was perfectly cooked, fresh, hot and delicious. We really wanted our wedding food to feel like a home cooked meal we would serve at one of our own dinner parties, and that’s exactly what we got. Our out of town guests were especially thrilled to get such a classic Seattle-style meal. We also got their pear and basil fresca, which I’m pretty sure is created by angels. It was the perfect refreshing drink for a hot day. Working with Skillet was also a fantastic experience. From the beginning, they were easy and fun. They were responsive, professional, flexible, and I really felt like they cared about our wedding and were on our team. Even when the original person I worked with left, the transition to my new point person(Katie) was seamless. When we decided to make some pretty significant changes to our initial menu, they were not only patient and accommodating but also helped me come up with creative ways to pull off what we wanted according to our budget limitations. Overall, working with Skillet was a fantastic experience and I could not be happier with the service and food they delivered! I’m even more impressed that they did it all for less than most of the traditional catering companies charge for so-so food. Thank you, Skillet!!!

I had skillet cater my wedding out of their food truck, and their food and service was outstanding. Guests ordered from the truck, and food was served quickly and efficiently. All the guests left full and happy. They also served apps during cocktail hour, which were a total hit, and they even brought separate trays to the wedding party while we were taking pictures! To top it all off, one of the staff set aside a to go box of food and handed it to the groom and I as we departed, it was greatly appreciated! Skillet provided servers and bartenders that hustled all night to pass out champagne, clean up after guests, and keep the drinks rolling. It was really amazing service all the way around. From the start of planning to the end, the service was thoughtful, and efficient. I would highly recommend skillet catering!

Not overly impressed. Not bad but definitely not worth $ 13-$ 15. The burger was just ok, the fries were good. It wasn’t cooked as I asked. I went with my team from work. Definitely a been there done that occasion. I don’t think the burger was even ¼ pound. $ 7-$ 10 maybe. $ 15 never!

One thing was sure, if my husband and I were getting married, we were going to share with guests our favorite foods in Seattle. We had a tentative date booked with Skillet and another place before we even had a venue! The folks at Skillet were an absolute pleasure to work with — very quick to respond via email or phone. They answered all of my silly questions and helped me when I was totally clueless. We even had an in-person meeting coordinated with the bartenders so we could make sure all needs were being met for both services. All of the food was amazing, but I have to say the fried chicken sammies really won the day — they disappeared as soon as they came inside! Also, the late night pancake sammie snacks where very much appreciated.

If Skillet is around, you better bet I’m eating it! :) Love the kale Caesar salad, poutine(the best!), and burgers.

I used to love the burgers by Skillet and I thought it was better than Red Mills. Yet ever since the place went brick and mortar, the food quality at the truck also went down. This truck is parked at Bellevue near Barnes and Nobles on Thursdays. I went and got a burger because I remember the place fondly. Yet I noticed that the burgers are a little bit smaller than I remember. Also the bacon jam that used to make the burger just tasted like extra dry pulled pork. The food is still okay but I am not sure if it is $ 14 good.

Pretty stoked to finally eat here after having a taste of what they have to offer from last years Mobile Truckfeast in Tacoma… I had the infamous Grilled Cheese and was going to have it again but opted for the Chicken Fried Sammy as I am a sucker for some aioli and it sure didn’t disappoint me!!! The fries were killer as well. Pricing a little steep but I am at the Seattle Armory so I guess it’s fitting. Definately a place I would visit again.

4.5 stars. Best fried chicken sandwich ever — the Sammy is an exercise in perfection. Tender, panko-fried chicken served with kale slaw, pickled jalapeño aioli(tasty) on a Macrina potato roll. Could not be more pleased with the texture and flavor complements from the kale and aioli — on point! Rosemary dusted hand-cut fries are delish and well-seasoned. Skillet food takes time(be prepared for the wait), but staff is friendly and the food worth it!

I’ve been eating at Skillet since… well, since that walk-up window. I was driving by the other day and smiled a bit because I can still see the outline of the pig at the top of the building. Back in the day, the window was a close walk from my office. I go to the Counter the most, been to the Diner, and honestly, spend much less time checking out the truck since they have a couple of bricks locations(soon to open a third). This review is about the truck. Do I love poutine? Yeah, I don’t like fries and gravy — said no one ever. I’m a fan of the burgers and my beloved bacon jam. I’m not a big burger fan but Skillet’s is one that I crave a couple of times a year. Fried chicken? Forget about it. Fried crisp, great flavor and the pairing with the kale slaw on the sammy is hard to beat. Staff members are friendly enough. I’ve been pleased with my wait times. The quality of the food is consistent. Now, if we could just work on that price point a bit… Also, like Marc M., I long for chicken and waffles EVERY time I see the truck!
