Salmon was fabulous, and service was some of the best ever. My salmon piece was decent sized, but apparently not up to the server’s standard. So, she brought me a 2nd piece. My wife had the meatloaf — also amazingly tasty. When we got a to-go box, the server brought bread, lettuce, tomato, etc for leftover meatloaf sandwich. Above and beyond. We’ll be back.

The waiter told so many unbelievably cheesy jokes, I had a hangover by the end of brunch that I hadn’t had when I woke up. Still, you can’t deny he was trying to make the sun shine a little brighter for us. I hope I see him again if I’m ever back here, just later in the day, hopefully.

I came here with a large group(about 25 people) during happy hour. We contacted the restaurant ahead of time to make sure they’d have space for us, and at that time, the business asked that we all bring cash in order to make it easier on the waitstaff. That’s fair, so we all go to ATMs beforehand and get cash. Once we find our table in the bar, our waitress announces there will only be one check for the entire group. A few people go up to the bar to order drinks and when they try to pay the bartender with cash, the waitress runs over and very rudely tells the bartender, «You know they’re all on one check right? ONLYONECHECK!» Perhaps if the restaurant had been busy it would been a reasonable expectation, but there were only 3 other small groups in the whole bar. This bartender was even willing to take our money, but the waitress wouldn’t allow it, so we had to try and figure out a single bill among 25 people. HELLO, THISIS A BAR! The happy hour food menu looked good, but I didn’t order anything else after I got snapped at by the waitress for trying to get a diet coke at the bar. I decided right there I wasn’t going to spend another dollar here. The diet coke I ordered from my seat it took 15 minutes!!! That’s ridiculous. I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere — the outside is really dumpy, but the restaurant itself is actually pretty nice. The have a fireplace and relaxing vibe, and the food that I saw looked decent. Too bad the waitstaff was rude. I won’t be back.

The outside does look very cheap but don’t let that fool you. We sat in the bar area and it was quite comfortable. Nice comfy chairs with a fire going in the fireplace. I had the fish and chips and it was good(not awesome). The bf had chicken fried steak and said it was good(not awesome).

1. If you are old and enjoy being around old folks, good news! 2. Sometimes the Cutty Sark is misplaced on the shelf 3. Warm mahogany greets you like a winters fart 4. An elephant never forgets(check the bar rail) A hidden gem? Only a sleuth can tell.

From the outside, it just looks like a restaurant of a cheap hotel. But don’t be fooled. Agreed. BEST chicken caesar salad in town. The fries are amazing too. Definitely one of Seattle’s hidden gems.

5 Big Golden Stars for their AMAZINGCAESARSALAD!!! ME: «Can I get extra garlic on my caesar salad?» Waitress: «YES! We make our dressings made to order!» ME: «Wow… I didn’t expect this from here» Waitress: «YES! I’ll be right back with it then» (5 minutes later) Waitress: «How do you like it?» ME: «Absolutely hands-down AMAZING! BEST Caesar I’ve had in my entire life! I can hardly believe this… I’ve died and gone to heaven. I just still can’t believe how incredibly amazing this tastes! You just tell that chef back there that a 41 year old has NEVER had a better salad in her life & how impressed I am with this dressing… and give him a BIGHUG for me for absolutely making my year!» Waitress: «Chef says thank you. He also says he’s 45 and single.» ME: «Wow!» Husband: «Hey! You just tell that Chef he better come talk to ME!» Everyone at the table: LOL

Total throw back. Or, to some maybe totally dated. This is the type of diner/restaurant you expect to find while driving up to Kennebunk, ME and somehow the Sixth Ave. Bar and Grill is nestled into the bottom floor of a hotel in Seattle. The waitresses look like they’ve worked there since the day it was open and they serve up plates of breakfast basics with a smile and some small talk(if you are willing to engage). Prices are quite good and the portions hearty, just as you’d expect. Might not impress your date, though.

Had breakfast here twice, and was excellent both times. The breakfast steak was of good quality(tender), compared to Oh, say«D*nny’s). Had the scramble with cheese the 2nd time, was also very good :) Service was very good both times.

This hotel bar is a gem! I love the dim lighting, big booths and fireplace. The best part though is Laurel the bartender. Her pour is fantastic and she’s always ready to welcome you with a warm smile. Check this place out! They don’t do drink specials but their happy hour sliders are only a buck!

I woke up starving and my boys called me asking where to eat in Belltown. I had ZERO idea so I did like I always do and Unilocaled Belltown. Found that this place had 1 dollar sign and FOUR stars. That sounds like a must eat spot. I also see the«special» Unilocal offer and ask about it and PRESTO! Unilocal just saved me like $ 45 – 50

I have a fondness for places like this. It reminds me of my childhood. Some of the waitresses are really nice and treat everyone like their children… in a good way. The food is a step up from the typical diner. The booths are large and comfy.

Dinner at the Sixth Avenue Inn Bar and Grill was nice, but nothing special. Although, better than I expected since the Sixth Ave Inn isn’t much to look at from outside. Anyway, we had a nice table next to the window, facing the street and their little rock garden out front. Typical motel/budget hotel atmosphere. The place was pretty empty for a friday night — but I imagine most of the Inn’s guests decided that the short walk to the heart of downtown would be a better way to spend the evening. The menu had a range of standard American comfort foods — meatloaf, chicken fried steak, big sandwiches, and etc. I had the salmon(~$ 15) which tasted fresh but was remarkably bland. I felt the same way about the seasonal vegetables and the rice that came with it. All fresh and totally edible, but bland like nursing home food. The rest of my party seemed to enjoy their meals, but nobody was singing praises. For the most part, the portion size reconciled the price — but for the same amount of money you can dine downtown at any number of restaurants with much more personality and better food. And if you’re already on Unilocal,it shouldn’t take more than a second to find a suitable place.

My out of town guests were staying at the Sixth Avenue Inn and had been singing the praises of their lounge. They wanted to try dinner, so I happily agreed. The lounge was nicely decorated. You felt like you were hanging out in the lush living room of a wealthy friend. It was comfortable and cozy, complete with a blazing fireplace. A perfect way to relax after a day of wandering in the damp Seattle weather. Since I was vacationing right along with my visitors, I decided to toast their visit with a Lemon Drop; my favorite girly-girl adult beverage. Now, I don’t know whether the bartender really liked us or what, but that was the biggest, strongest Lemon Drop I have ever had! I admit to being a light weight, but by the time I finished my lemony concoction, I was feeling mighty fine. There was no way I could drink another without getting a room there. Perhaps that’s their master plan? After the pre-meal libation, our dinners arrived at the perfect time. I ordered the salmon and it was prepared to near perfection. Typically, the accompanying rice and vegetables can be an afterthought, but not this time. The vegetables we nicely seasoned and had just the right amount of ‘snap’. The rice was tasty, without an overwhelming flavor to compete with the salmon. I cannot guarantee my review wasn’t influenced by my alcohol consumption, but I can promise you I will return to The Sixth Avenue Inn Bar and Grill in the future.

I stopped into this cozy bar last night for a couple of cocktails and some bar food. It has a warm inviting atmosphere and the drinks are yummy. I was also able to park for free while I was dining, where can you do that in downtown Seattle? It has pretty typical bar food and American food, ie burgers, etc. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. They were the best darn fries I ever ate… yummy! The drinks were good and stiff, just how I like them. The bar has a fireplace and fun and chatty bar staff. This place is like a hidden oasis in a sea of over lite, overly yuppized bars in downtown Seattle. Want to be comfortable and have a casual meal. plant your selves in the comfy leather chairs and warm up by the fire place. Oh, and the prices are really cheap for downtown. I’ll be back!
