After a Sunday spent perusing the Ballard Farmers Market, my mom, sister and I stopped by Savour per a recommendation from our sister who is a Ballard local. So glad we listened to her instead of searching for sustenance at the BFM. I had the Mediterranean panini with grilled eggplant. The sandwich was super delicious, and the flavors were very deep and balanced. For checking in on Unilocal,I got a free cookie that was beyond big enough to split between the three of us. My sister and my mom ordered a half sandwich and soup combo and seemed pretty satisfied. My one regret? Not trying the mac and cheese the next day before heading to the airport. It looked soooo good. One thing left for next time!

I met a friend here for lunch last week, on her suggestion, and I am glad to have discovered this charming little shop that oh so close to home. The only downside(to me) is that everything seems a bit pricey. The gourmet items in the store were generally too much than I am willing to pay, although I imagine everything is great. I just personally have no need for a $ 15 bottle of jam. The restaurant food was on the pricey end of the scale but not over the top. The service was friendly from the moment I walked in the door. I was early to meet my friend, so I walked around and looked at the specialty gourmet items, and the clerk asked me if I needed any help. I told her I was just looking around, and she went back to her work. I liked that she didn’t hover or pester, but she was present in case I did need help. The server in the restaurant section was very friendly and attentive. My friend and I both had the special, which was an egg salad panini with bacon jam, tomatoes, and greens. It was served with homemade tomato-garlic soup. Everything tasted delicious. I definitely want to go back and try more sandwiches, especially the pastrami reuben.

Had heard about this little shop/café but just recently stopped in when on a girls outing with my mom. It turned out to be the perfect spot for us, who are both food snobs and suckers for adorable markets. The place is filled with tempting treats, wines, and oils to take home, which would be great all on its own, but is made even better with the café menu and tables inside. I was first inclined to try the chacuterie board, but their sandwiches were calling me. I got the Vegg Out sandwich and was super impressed by the housemade walnut pesto. I also love their combinations of fruit(e.g. pear chutney or apple) and meats, and their variety in general. They offer half sandwiches and soup or salad, and even to make your sandwich into a salad. Almost too many choices for such a little place! Can’t wait to try the next one. The sandwiches are also pretty huge, and I was planning to take half home but it was just too good to not eat it all there! The only complaint I had here was that the service was incredibly slow. We first ordered coffees, which took a while, but the sandwiches took forever to come out. Not sure what part of it was taking so long, but given that there was only one group there it seemed a bit odd. Luckily I was so impressed by everything else that it won’t keep me from coming back soon! And maybe I’ll just order a glass of wine and do some perusing to help pass the time as I wait for my feast. :)

What a wonderful Mediterranean inspired mix of store of imported goodies from Italy, France and Spain among other countries, casual restaurant and wine/charcuterie tasting place, plus art gallery for local artists. Awesome service, the girls working there are really lovely. I just wanted the lentil soup and my friend an albacore sandwitch that came with some Catalonia imported marcona almonds and Italian born Castelvetrano olives. Very well achieved scenario, sometimes when you mix a store with deli it does not really work well. I guess this place makes Ballard even more charming that what it is! Décor wise, I feel like at home in this restaurant since the walls are painted in happy apple green, like the walls of my apartment, and there are enough tables to serve several people but not too many, so still maintain that quaint aura. Excellent assortments of cheese, salamis and a decent olive bar. Savour is, indeed, delicious!

So. please reserve judgement on this review. Boyfriend and I came here for a post-brunch cheese plate. Yes, a post-brunch cheese plate. It was a lazy Sunday and we did share a brunch entrée so stop judging me! The place was pretty empty and it was nice outside so we sat in the patio area. Very cute area with great people watching perspective. There’s flowers on the railing so there is potential for bees. The lovely server came out and asked if we wanted to do a charcuterie or cheese or mixed plate. We opted for mixed and left the choices up to her with the guidelines that we like cheddars and fine bleus to be a bit too strong. Seriously, give some guidelines, it helps them out a lot to be able to tailor to your likes a bit. She chose a really good plate for us and I wish I could remember the names of all the cheeses. I think the one we liked best was a cheddar and the one we liked least was a Spanish goat cheese that won some award a few years back. That one had a charcoal-y taste to it that was strange to us. Unlimited bread slices kept us leisurely spreading cheeses and fig jam all afternoon. They also provide mustard and little pickles, but we’re not fans of those elements so we opted out. When we went up to pay, I got tempted by the little candies they have displayed and purchased some grapefruit-honey hard candy. They look like they have some great gourmet groceries throughout the store and I can’t wait to return.

Cute shop/restaurant that has great sandwiches. They come out on small cutting boards. Very nice presentation. The sandwiches come with sides of a pairing of pickles and olives and dried apricots and almonds. I did not realize it at first, but the pairings go together so well! I was just eating then separately and it was«meh.» But then I ate them in succession and it was like a party in my mouth. The sandwiches are great. Service is great. I’d go again.

Currently munching a beautiful Muffalata. Just the perfect combo of top quality olives, meat, cheese, arugula and bread. The store has tons of fun, delicious gourmet items that you probably won’t see in many stores in Seattle. Making it even more pleasant is the fantastic service you receive from people who seem clearly proud of the place. I highly recommend it for lunch or for a fun shopping experience.

This was such a find! I ordered the ham and pear chutney sandwich as a salad. The chutney was AMAZING and it came with a big chunk of Brie. :) Sister ordered the same as a sandwich and was in heaven as well. Only thing I wish they had was gluten free bread. Prices are very reasonable. Enjoy!

On a whim I offered to check out the specialty grocery section of Savour for a friend trying to find some unique bitters… And let me tell you: I found my new Ballard go-to spot. While I was not able to find the specific brand of bitters my friend was looking for, I noticed they carry my favorite brand of Austrian mustards! They must be one of two stores in the entire Seattle area(to my knowledge) that carries the brand. While in Savour I started eavesdropping and stayed long enough to see a couple of delicious looking sandwiches pass right by me. SOLD. I bought a Turkey, Apple & Cheddar sandwich and some Q ginger ale. After a surprisingly short wait for the sandwich, I was transported to heaven. Served on brioche bread, the turkey was piled high, the arugula added a dash of spice, and the cheddar provided some salt to balance the sweetness of the apple. Rarely do I notice how well the flavors of a sandwich are balanced, and as such I have to proclaim that Savour knows their stuff. As a self labeled sandwich aficionado, Savour hit the spot. I am so glad I walked into the café/store today and I cannot wait to go back. I highly recommend Savour for anyone looking for a specialty foods OR for a quick lunch bite. Spend some time, explore the groceries, peruse the cheeses, and check out the antipasti. Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, in the few short interactions I had with the staff I was incredibly impressed. They were kind, upbeat, and know how to make a mean(translation: delicious) sandwich. I cannot wait to return for lunch tomorrow.

Only in Ballard can you find such a cool spot: killer cheese counter, nice little lunch menu, friendly servers who clearly dig the place too, and a wonderful little gourmet shop all in one. I had a hard time choosing gifts to bring home from all the wonderful goodies: Scrappy’s Bitters, Gary and Kit’s, Mast Brothers Chocoloate(with Stupmtown Coffee), all manner of chutneys, honey, oils, rubs, etc. I love all of these words! My bro and I split a sandwich– jamon y queso on baguette, as well as a cheese plate, and a carafe of the house chardonnay. It was a sunny day in March, so we sat in the window and soaked up the sun. I loved this little shop and certainly plan to return next time I’m in Ballard!

Before I get too deep into this review I want to stress that this review is strictly based on the service we received(or better, lack of service) from the restaurant portion of the business. We had been to the store to purchase cooking good before and love the selection and interesting products. Yesterday however, we attempted to eat at the restaurant portion for the first time. Everything pointed to a fantastic lunch. The sun was out, patio seating was available the menu looked delicious… wow were we wrong. We entered the restaurant and go menus and told the person working the counter we’d be outside. Then we waited and waited and waited. At least 15 minutes before a woman came out of the restaurant, told us she wasn’t even working at the time(but she worked there) and that the people working had ignored us and she was really sorry. She got us water, took our drink order and brought us out drinks. Then took our food order(all while off duty). I wish we had her name, because she was the bright spot. After she took our food order she left however. Then we waited for an hour still with no food. So I went in to ask. The two employees were rude and snarky and claimed that they were SO busy and ran out of bread and had to go to Tall Grass to get more. When I noted that this was understandable but it would have been nice to let us know, he snapped that he would of had he not been too busy getting OUR bread for OUR sandwiches. I don’t mind when restaurants make mistakes. I do mind when they lie about it. Just say, oops we f’d up and were sorry. I would have been fine, but we had to leave to I paid for the drinks and skipped the sandwiches. I will be writing a letter to management there.

Fun gourmet shop with a decent sandwich stop. This is a great place to buy gifts for the gourmand, or a treat for yourself. They have a small, but well curated selection of food accompaniments, as well as cheese and charcuterie. They carry specialties from home and abroad, including local favorites like Deluxe Preserves. They also carry drinking vinegars, including a few from Pok Pok in Portland. My only desire is that they carry(if available) their Tamarind and Lychee flavors instead of the tame Honey and Apple. This is a great place to stop in when visiting Ballard, and a great place for local foodies to be inspired.

When I searched for a gluten free place in the Ballard area this came up. Well of course cheese and wine is gluten free but it was advertised like they had great gluten free dishes or something. The shop is lovely I just felt like it was misrepresented.

They were sampling bitters, what else do I need to say? It was a good place to stop in and look around while waiting for our reservation. There are a few places to sit up front and a large cheese selection. They also carry many items from the vendors at the Ballard Market, like jams and preserves.

Savour is like a good friend you always love to see. It’s a good time every time you see each other, and you’re always sad when you depart. I’d like to thank Savour for having a hand in upping the quality of my culinary taste. When I think of almonds, I think of their salted marcona almonds, and how no other almond can compare. They introduced me to le cremeaux, Brie that’s made love to butter, and melts on your toast AND in your mouth. And they’re menu items are always fantastic. It’s a little pricey for lunch, but the menu items are fun spins on old classics, and they have always been worth it to me. 4 instead of 5 stars because the items in the store are a little pricey, and are not budget friendly. Some of these items can be found cheaper elsewhere. However… It’s a local small business, the owner and staff are seriously wonderful, and the store has some amazing items, and I totally believe in supporting a local business!

What a delightful gourmet deli, food, and kitchen shop! I wasn’t in the mood to try any of their cheese or deli options, but I enjoyed browsing the shop for a good 10 minutes. They have some interesting dry prepped soup options(that are gluten-free!) and some interesting sauces and jams and such. I’m especially interested in their flavored ketchup options, especially because they use sea salt. I’ll definitely pick one of those up next time!(I think one is a chipotle ketchup.) What else do I love? The employees try and seem to care about what they’re selling! They have 5 – 10 different soup options, and the cashier said she’s tried almost all of them.

Savour had a 5 star review coming before I even saw half of the store. Here’s a rundown of my experience here: Walk in, greeted by a friendly woman behind the counter, stumbled into a plate of hot, gooey chocolate chips to sample, noticed tons of other great foods(both fresh and packaged) in addition to all kinds of handy items for the home and kitchen. I didn’t walk another 20 feet before someone else offered to help. Such great service. And those cookies? They’re $ 15 a package and worth EVERYPENNY! Best cookies I’ve ever had.

OHYUM! Specialty food and condiment heaven for the more refined palate! I have never been so wooed by vast savory cheeses, fresh crusty breads, peppers n’ olives, chocolates, spices abound, chilled beer/tea. It could also have been the giant sample of the fresh baguette n’ cream with cheese that took me in. The staff are enthusiastic about the foods as they are helpful in selecting items. They were always happy to send me with sample — just as I was happy to take it! Amongst all the preserves, you’ll find great little lunch boxes, water canteens, unique dinner accessories etc. Lots of treats! If I can’t find it at Whole Foods its a sure bet I’ll find lots of local treats at Savour!
