The service is super friendly and the sushi is delicious! They are not skimpy with the ingredients like other sushi places can be, and it is very affordable! I would definitely recommend this sushi bar next time you are shopping at Westlake!

Okay maybe cuz I’m a crazy sushi lover, but this place is terrible… This is the first place I saw in the food court because I love sushi so much. Have actually been here a few times, and each time I regret it. The sushi is dry and not quality at all. Do yourself a favor and walk down to pike place and get sushi from the place in there instead or go somewhere else.

I’m for sure a regular here. It’s really good for food court sushi, surprisingly so. They make their rolls to order and although I think it’s a bit pricey(not for the rolls but extra) for food court sushi, it’s definitely worth it. I usually get salmon avocado maci with salmon sashimi(each piece is $.99). Their miso is decent and same with their green tea. Both are $ 1.19 for a cup that’s not usually filled to the top. Service is good and they usually have samples.

For food court sushi, this sushi is AMAZING! They have a really good deal going on where you can get any 2 rolls for $ 7.98 or something close to that price, and 6 sushi pieces equal a roll. So, 12 sushi’s for $ 8? Pretty good price! Their sushi tastes so fresh. I absolutely love their tempura roll. I’ll definitely be going here more often. BYESUSHILANDANDYOUROLDTASTINGSUSHI! Sarku is the place to go for quick and cheap sushi. :)

For a quick eats in mall busy in /out consume lunch and dash environment. .. not bad. Made to order, no reach into the fridge and shove out the door. .. do the lunch deals for the best bet.

Granted this is food court sushi but it’s really good. Rolled fresh while you wait. For $ 10 you get maybe 15 pieces YMMV

This place is okay for a quick Sushi Pitstop. I normally get the Two Roll for 6.99 Lunch Special. I stick with The BBQ Eel and Shrimp Tempura Rolls. Fun to sit down and do some people watching. I like the Soy Sauce Dispenser and the fact that they give you a lot of Wasabi so you can clear your sinus passages and enough Ginger so that you don’t have Fish Breath when you go back to work.

Not bad for«mall sushi»… fresh(albeit small) portions of fish, and reasonable prices. $ 6.99 for two rolls, or $ 9.99 for three rolls. Staff is friendly. It’s located in the mall food court, so there’s plenty of tables to sit at, even outdoor seating on warm/sunny days. Definitely go for LUNCH rather than dinner, as I think the sushi is fresher and more likely to be made to order with just-prepared ingredients.

I’m not a big sushi eater, not by choice, but more that I just don’t go out of my way to get it. When I do have it, though, I love it. I was wary to try sushi at the mall, but I’m really glad that I gave Sarku a shot. I was pleasantly surprised! I was with two other sushi-eaters, returning from the Japanese festival at the Seattle Center. Everyone gave rave reviews. The staff were very friendly and asked us how we enjoyed our meal(Which surprised me as I’m not used to getting staff attention in a mall food court.) We had six California rolls and six salmon rolls. I’d definitely eat here again, the price was great and the food was great.

I like this place. I go here about three times a week for lunch/snack/dinner, you name it. I love their spider roll. So delicious, that I am almost addicted to it. I’ve tried the spider roll at other place like Sushi Kudasai, O Sushi, Blue C Sushi, Genki Sushi, and no one can make it the way I like it than in this sushi bar. Prices are cheap, and sometimes they throw in a little extra. The 2rolls for 6.99 or 3 rolls for 9.99 is also an amazing deal!

The sushi was cheap $ 4 for a six-piece California roll and $ 2 for a pair of salmon nigiri. I was hoping it would be «good enough» — it was cheap sushi from a food court, after all. I was very pleasantly surprised. It may not have been the best ever sushi, but it was definitely damn tasty. For the price, I am not complaining at all. I think this will become my go-to sushi place. I’m especially happy about that since Sushi Yama in Bellevue changed ownership and went so downhill.

We didn’t expect much from sushi at a food court, but the mid-afternoon munchies and $ 0.99 sushi and sashimi slices drew us here. We looked at the sushi quality, deemed it decent enough and ordered away. We only ordered salmon sushi and sashimi — surprisingly good and fresher than expected. Better than some actual restaurants I’ve been to. I guess it helps that this mall is so close to Pike’s Place, so their quality of fish must be somewhat okay. They offer a very limited selection though. Their rolls were okay, tastes like the pre-packaged stuff you can buy at your local supermarket or Costco. I’d definitely come here again for their cheap salmon though. The best«mall sushi» I’ve had.

Food court sushi. It is what it is. At $ 1 per piece, whether you do nigiri or sashimi, Sarku is less expensive than Sushi Kudasai. AND, unlike Sushi Kudasai, Sarku has mackerel nigiri. I just wish the girl they have manning the register at Sarku would stop licking her fingers to get people’s little plastic to-go bags open. She also(with the same licked fingers) touches people’s to-go napkins that she puts in the little already-contaminated plastic to-go bags. Then(also with the same licked fingers) she hands people their change(or credit cards) back. If the finger licking register girl would leave(or stop licking her fingers), I would give this place three stars.

Wandering around the seemingly endless Westlake Food Court, my friend C and I decided on the Sarku Japan Sushi Bar for a quick bite before a football game. We both love sushi and liked the idea of decent stuff at the mall. We ordered three rolls — salmon, tempaura, and california. There wasn’t anything bad about them other than sub-par fish and a long-ish wait. It was only slightly better that what you might find in a grocery store. I did enjoy that the soy sauce was placed in a water despensor — very tricky!

The beauty of having coworkers is that you need never go to lunch alone. Oh, it might take you a while to wear them down enough so they’ll go where you want to, but eventually you can do it. After a couple of months of gentle but persistent hints, I bullied a coworker into trying Sarku, the sushi place in Westlake Center. «But the last time I walked by, there was a red-headed kid making the sushi!» he protested. Which is strange, because mall food courts are known for their authenticity. I reminded him that discrimination in the workplace is against the law, and finally he wearily agreed to go. I wish Sarku had been worth all the effort I put into it. Mainly I was lured in by the cheap prices — they have several combos under $ 8, and the big selling point is their 99-cent a la carte sushi and sashimi. My coworker had the«Sushi & Roll» combo($ 6.49), including a 6-piece California roll and one piece each of shrimp, salmon, tuna, and egg sushi. I went for a la carte sushi, getting a BBQ eel roll($ 3.49) and individual pieces of shrimp, salmon, tuna, and unagi. The rolls are all $ 4.25 or less, and there are twelve to choose from — nothing terribly original, but the usual crowd-pleasers. No matter what you order, they cram it to fit on small black Styrofoam trays made to look like the lacquer plates you get at real sushi places. The pieces themselves are squat and fat, but have a pretty good fish-to-rice ratio, though my coworker complained about his so-thin-it-was-see-thru salmon slice. The overall quality was slightly above your average supermarket sushi, though both of our tuna slabs tasted watery, flavorless, and odd. Surprisingly, they were pretty well made in the sense of not falling apart, which can be a problem even at real restaurants. My coworker ordered what he thought was green tea, but sniffed it and proclaimed it «funny.» I think what he got was actually roasted brown tea(which I like, but not everyone does, I guess), so be careful to specify what you want if you’re getting hot tea, and be ready for it to be boiling-ass hott, too. They also have some extras like seaweed salad($ 3.49), edamame($ 2), and miso($ 1.19), but we didn’t try those. If you’re at Westlake and you’re seriously craving sushi — or you’re at the food court trying to please a bunch of picky eaters — Sarku is an okay choice, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to have it again, despite their buy-five-entrees-get-a-free-Cali-roll stamp card.
