WHERE’S THEBEEF?! Had lunch there today… Service was great but the beef on my plate weighed somewhere between 2 – 3 ounces! My friend’s portion of chicken was almost as small. For $ 8.95 I would expect a lot more(heck, for $ 5.95 I would expect more!). I supposed the chef thinks him/herself clever to delicately arrange a small portion on top of cheap veggies but anyone who desires more than 4 grams of protein per day might prefer another restaurant. Let me say it this way: a VEGAN might even enjoy the dish I had… lol

Actually this place are a little bit out of my style but I have to admit that the food is really good and everything on a dish are so beautiful. I tried Pudthai once time and it was just great! In the other hand, this restaurant is really hard to find the place to park, so I cut one star for this.

Our Saturday lunch at the Royal Palm was a delight. The food, the service, the ambience… all were excellent! The restuarant is very clean and the tables are set beautifully. The quiet atmosphere and view of the street below gives great character to the dining area. We ordered the Royal Palm Special Noodles(wide rice noodles with spinach and peanut sauce and choice of meat or seafood). I had shrimp, my wife had scallops. The table salad was lettuce and juliened carrot, radish and carrot-ginger dressing; crisp and cold and fresh. The contrast of hot noodles and shrimp on rice was heaven! If course we had Thai-iced-tea to round out the meal. I believe the server was also the owner, she was so attentive and up-beat, just a joy to talk to. She said there is parking underneath the restaurant, and suggested we come back on Sunday when the full evening menu is served all day. We definitely will be back! Food quality, freshness, presentation; restaurant cleanliness, décor, character and atmosphere, attentive service with enthusiasm… what more could anyone ask for ??? — 5-Stars for sure!

Went in to grab some take out food for lunch. I have passed by this place over a hundred times but have never been motivated to go inside. After eating there I can say that I should have listened to my gut instinct. I ordered the phad thai lunch special and the beef lunch special. Each was about $ 9. The portion sizes were way too small. Instead of splitting 2 lunch specials between 2 people we should have split 3 lunch specials between 2 people. Also the food honestly just want very good. The beef was dry and unimpressive. The phad thai was just as bad as the beef and the chicken skewers that came with it tasted like they had peanut sauce that came straight out of the can poured on them. The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars instead of one is becsuse the service is very very friendly. Even though I was just ordering take out they still brought me some soup while I waited. Unless you are standing right in front of the building and have to have thai food in the next 99 seconds, you have far better food options that are within a block of this place.

I got the Pad See Ew with prawns and my girlfriend got the red curry with tofu. The curry was excellent and the Pad See Ew was by far the best I’d ever had. The mango was a little too ripe on the sweet sticky rice for desert, but the fried ice cream was spectacular. The interior is bright and aesthetically pleasing, the service is excellent and they have lots of vegetarian options(including their curries). All in all, this is our new favorite Thai place.

I love in the neighborhood, and come to The Royal Palm on a weekly basis if my schedule allows. They have the best service ever! Everyone is so kind! And the food, well the food is so good! My current favorite is the coconut chicken with a side order of pineapple fried rice. There is so much flavor and texture in their food. Perfect Service, good atmosphere, and great food are all reason enough to keep coming back!

Solid Thai restaurant. Fresh ingredients, good proportions. We had chicken satay and spring rolls for appetizers — nothing to write home about. Pad se ew was good, as was the eggplant tofu dish. Panang beef had great flavor, tender beef, but a little thin. The highlights of the meal were the young coconut juice and desert — mango sticky rice and fried icecream. Great light filled space petched over Roosevelt — very people watching friendly! They offer daily specials and a room for big groups. Good for kids.

Very clean place, good atmosphere. Very happy w my Kee Mao. Not a huge serving, but very good. Texture of the noodles and vegetables along with the balance of the sauce made me very happy. A very kind Woman in a chef coat came out to see how everything was for my 3yr old son and I which rounded out an overall very pleasant experience. I will definitely be coming back, and also calling for takeout.

We were fading fast after a quick trip to East West books and went to the first Thai place we saw. Kitty corner to the bookshop. We were a bit wary but our expectations perked up when we entered and saw the bright, sunny and super clean interior. My partner was feeling a little sore throat coming on so we Started with tofu soup… light and simple and delicious! The vegetarian special is probably the best veggie dish we’ve ever received at a Thai place! A large pile of good veggies in a truly light sauce, not sweet, not too salty and not thick. Light and fresh. The Royal Palm Special Noodles, wide noodles with spinach and peanut sauce were great. Full of fresh spinach and fresh, soft rice noodles. The peanut sauce was perfect… not heavy or oily or overly sweet like a lot of places. We were really happy and will be sure to come back!

Been going there for over 20 years… love everything there especially the fried rice, satay, best peanut sauce, the owner is so friendly she comes to chat at my table whenever I go in, my boys love it there and when I can’t get my picky eater to have some hot descent food I head straight there to get him some chicken satay with peanut sauce and some good hot rice, it never fails…

I was headed for Krua in U Village where I usually go on Sundays but kept on driving as I wanted to try a different place. I ordered the 4 star out of 5, gluten-free, Gang Ped(Red curry, duck, pineapple, bell peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms). The curry was $ 15.95, which was normal for duck and there was enough duck in it. I was surprised the meal didn’t come with rice so when I got the bill I was charged $ 2.00 for a small bowl of brown rice. I was greeted by a kind and friendly woman right away and was the first customer it seemed for lunch. While I was there two other people ate in the restaurant and one person got take-out. This was my first time here and it is an absolutely lovely setting. Beautiful interior, very clean, nice tables, chairs, linens under the glass on the table, etc. The menu had very clear items that were marked«GF» for Gluten-free. I appreciated that and am happy to say I was not cross-contaminated at all. I ate and enjoyed my food though I do have to say that it was higher priced than what I’m used to at other Thai restaurants such as Krua. I also wanted to mention that their 4 star wasn’t spicy ATALL. Seriously… it was more like a 0 star. I want my lips to burn and this 4 star did nothing to me. But alas… that’s why they have spice racks so I simply asked for a spice rack. I added all three kinds of the spices that were offered to me but still couldn’t get it to the level I wanted it to be. It helps, I find, if they cook the spices in from the beginning to truly pack the punch! The reason I am giving four stars is for the friendly waitress and the fact that the food was good and I didn’t get cross-contaminated. But due to the lack of spice and higher prices I can’t go higher stars. I think the food and price is really more like a 3 star.

Had the pad see ewe with beef and it was quite tasty. Not the best, nor was it the worst. Location is easy to walk-in and find seating.

Went to Royal Palm for lunch today and really all I can say is Meh. The service is eager, but the food does not hold up. I had the panang curry with chicken and ordered it at a 4 out of 5. When I got it, the chicken was rubbery, the curry was underdeveloped, and the heat was NONEXISTENT. I was expecting a depth of flavor and challenge of heat that was nowhere to be found. I just couldn’t understand how they created something so blah. A friend had a green curry and was equally underwhelmed. Nice people, good location… lackluster food.

There was one other table there besides us when we arrived. It was 7:30. I think I have a hunch as to why that is: The food is mediocre, bland, uninspired. The noodles were practically dry. We had the Special Royal Palm Noodles… Not enough peanut sauce to mix in with the noodles and spinach. The phad See ew(you know what I mean – the spicy noodle, egg, brocolli, carrot and chicken dish – wide noodles) was so lacking sauce – I thought I was eating plain noodles ! Head up the road(Edmonds – in the Ranch Market complex) to a place called Tasty Thai – THATIS A REALLYGOODTHAI Food restaurant. The prices are just right and so are the portions.

Meh… my boyfriend and I were on the road all day and realized that we had not eaten in about 6 hrs so we stopped at the first Thai restaurant I saw on the way home… Boy was that a wrong move. I almost walked out of the restaurant the first 30 seconds that I walked in. When we walked in the door, the restaurant owners and their family(assuming they were family since they were chatting in thai amongst themselves without food) stared at us then their faces looked perplexed and they stared at each other. It was very awkward, i felt as though I just walked into someones house by accident. I stood there for a minute before a lady walked up to us and said hi. My first response, «umm… Are you guys open?» I should have left right then and there… The lady was very nice and attentive so we gave it a try. We ordered the chicken pad see ew and chicken panang curry. It was pricey for the portion… The chicken pad see Ew was bland. The panang curry was thin, served on a plate and on a bed of cabbage. Yes curry on a plate? How are you supposed to scoop up the sauce! Sigh… our bill came out to $ 40 for the two bland entrees and rice. There were no other customers in the restaurant when we walked in or by the time we were done eating. Just avoid this place and go to the ave where you can find cheaper and way better food. I hope the owners read this review so they can make some much needed changes…

Went here yesterday because Krittika was closed. The server that waited on us was real nice and attentive. The place had maybe like 3 tables of people besides us 2 so hard for her not to be. Had a couple drinks and the food came, I had the heavenly beef lunch special and my friend had the Tom ka gai. She said the soup was pretty good but not the best she’s ever had. My beef had really good flavor, maybe a lil too sweet but the problem was it was way over cooked, it was almost like jerky. I won’t be back.

I ordered the penang curry curry to go. And while the service at the counter was pleasant and the food came out really fast, I was absolutely shocked at the portion size. When I looked at the bill they tacked on an additional dollar to the $ 10.95 price. They also do not include rice, so any rice you want comes out to $ 2 extra. The food was just ok. I absolutely will not return.

Eh, there’s a reason why there’s nobody is in here. Walking inside, I wasn’t greeted by anybody since it wasn’t busy whatsoever, but I was still quickly seated and the service overall was alright. Lady was attentive, got my order out quickly, and refilled my water. Décor is fairly nice on the inside. But the food, oh the food. For 10.95 for one flipping plate of pad thai, I seriously expect some DELICIOUS pad thai. The only reason why I went here is because I work at the bank up the street and I needed some warm food since it was RAINING. Bland pad thai, nothing special. Seriously, just go down to the ave to Thai Tom or something.

Having Unilocaled this place beforehand I was led to believe the food could be bland at times. I asked for«maximum spicy»(their words, not mine) when I called in my order, and I think this might have helped. Here’s what I got and what I thought: 1. Red chicken curry: fine, not especially spicy despite my instructions. it was a fairly small portion for curry(about 10 oz I think) 2. Pad See Ew pork: by far the best dish — the noodles were perfectly cooked and the pork was sweet and flavorful. Again, not very spicy 3. Larb(chicken): big disappointment — too much fish sauce and palm sugar, not enough lime and and chili. I do not recommend this place, I would eat here again only under duress.

We came here to get away from the daily same-old same old of the Ave in the u-district. But this was not a good adventure! The service was acceptable but the food arrived exactly an hour after we placed the order. The food is bland, pricey, and the menu has limited options, especially for vegetarians. I will not return to this place ever, I’d rather stay in the u-district and eat at Thai-get room or Thai toms or Thai 65 or little Thai which definitely have better food for your money and appetite!
