Been coming here for yrs. A typical Chinese food(fast food) place, that is delicious. It’s not going to win any«health food» awards, but if you want something for a cheat day, besides pizza, burgers, or some other Chinese fast-food chain. Then this is the place you need to check out. I normally do an order of Mongolian Beef, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and an order of the house fried rice. A lot of calories intake for one meal, but it’s a cheat day meal so whatever!

Is this place closed? Looks like a new place has opened in the same spot.

This place has been a guilty pleasure of my wife and I for about 8 years now. The food is consistently good! I like that this place makes teriyaki chicken different than any other place I’ve been to. If you’re looking for some savory, saucy, unique teriyaki chicken, give this place a shot. I certainly enjoy it and hope it never changes. Just keep in mind it’s not like the teriyaki you’re used to.

First sign that it was a mistake was that the only person sitting in the place was the owner/cook! We walked in and ordered Mongolian beef and sweet and sour chicken. He gave us almond chicken instead. The Mongolian beef was just as has been previously stated, the consistency of brown gravy over mediocre beef with a side of stale fried rice. We literally walked out, leaving behind full plates, while the cook was making the egg rolls he forgot to bring out with the«meal». It wasn’t even worth asking for our money back. We walked into katsu burger next door and are now enjoying decent food. Soooooo bad!

The gentleman behind the counter was nice and the place was clean and orderly. There was Christian music playing in the background which was a turn off. Sadly I don’t have anything positive to say about the food. The food was awful greasy and lacking any flavor. The veggie fried rice had no veggies in it except bean sprouts and diced green onions. See the picture I posted. I gave an extra star for the cleanliness.

The food here is memorable. Very, very memorable. What I mean is; If you want to wonder about what it was that you were actually eating for years and years to come, then this is your place. I was hungry so I indulged myself on my very brown gravy teriyaki chicken. After a few bites I had to wonder if the chicken came from thanksgiving leftovers? If you replaced the thanksgiving stuffing with very poorly prepared pork fried rice, then topped the whole thing with brown gravy softened mystery turkey meat, then you’d have an outstanding turkey dinner. I suggest only once a year, but don’t worry if you miss a year, the memories from your first experience will last a lifetime. FIVESTARS!!! for this steaming pile of carbs, salt, and oil. Yum.

I came in on a recommendation from a coworker. If you know what you’re getting yourself into, it’s not bad. (I knew coming in that it’s a total gut-bomb but it’s one of her traditions so I wanted to try it.) I couldn’t eat all of it in one sitting, so I took the rest home for leftovers. I don’t remember what I got as my entrée, but the fried rice was reheated and stayed soft, even without a wet paper towel over the top! …if you eat rice enough, you know what I’m talking about with dry rice. It’s not bad. Just know that this is a guilty pleasure for many.

This was some of the worst food I have ever tasted. The parts that were supposed to be crispy were mushy, and vice versa. I feel legitimately sick, and I am pretty sure the almond chicken has no almonds or almond flavoring, although maybe I just got the wrong food. Do not eat here.

Yikes! I just had the Mongolian beef and an egg roll. The beef tastes like your generic beef stew that you cooked in a crock pot with gravy. Definitely not Mongolian beef. The egg roll was mushy all in the inside. And I spent 11 or so bucks for that? Bottom line,… Terrible!

I only go for a few dishes here: almond chicken and sweet sour chicken. The stir fried dishes quality isn’t really there – I think they use a round beef for there beef dishes(taste almost boiled). Seasoning seems to be there for the dishes, but I really would only go the dishes referenced. You might press your luck on the other stuff.

Absolutely terrible! Went here for the first time last week, too embarrassed to checkin. This place is utterly depressing to walk into located in the same dying strip mall as Katsu Burger(which is awesome by the way) I ordered the the red house rice and wonton soup to go. Everything tasted old in the rice and the wontons were strange, sort of slimy. I ended up pitching it all into the trash. Disgusting and a waste of money. I’ll stick with Lucky Chinese on 4th ave. avoid at all cost. Best thing that could happen here is the whole place burns down leaving Katsu untouched!

This place has home made Chinese food. I have been going for years and they never let me down. Fried rice has no peas and carrots! Ask for the House Fried Rice, you wont b sorry.

Red House is not everyone’s cup of tea. It’s blue collar, stick to your ribs, super-sized portions of «Americanized» Chinese food. That being said, it is a guilty pleasure to eat there occasionally. The best thing there are the egg rolls. They are huge, greasy and filled with pork and vegetables. The people who work there are always friendly and like I said the portions are well worth the reasonable price. Just know going in that this is not some fancy place with exotic flavors, but I always stop in when I’m driving through Georgetown.

I usually can be found here every now & then if I’m in the Georgetown area. +Piping hot chinese food. +Fast & Friendly customer service. +Plenty of seating. +Portions are huge. –Location. –Environment feels kind of blah –_– –The food is not healthy at all. I’d still check them out.

Horrid, just horrid. We all have friends that simply don’t care what food tastes like, they just want something cheap and lots of it. Well, this is where those friends go. Don’t be fooled, like I was into going here. It’s not Chinese in any sense of the word. I had the Mongolian Beef, which at the Red House is some sort of bizarre pot roast with a huge, sloppy amount of terrible tasting sauce/gravy. Thankfully, we ordered to go, so I could just dump the whole mess into the trash can.

If you like greasy Chinese food interspersed with the biggest slices of meat known to man drowning in sauces this place is for you. When I was eating meat I found it a bit bland. The eggrolls are massive greaseballs with pork and a few other veggies. My dad absolutely LOVES this place but I can never quite find its appeal. Its definitely not a great place for those that don’t eat meat.
