Posse on Broadway – AA

This was the second AA meeting I ever attended — that was 6 years ago. It is for sure the hipster meeting and definitely a bit of a meat market before and after the festivities. But for the hour that everyone is sitting down and sharing their experience, strength and hope it is a bastion of serenity.
I really liked it right away because the atmosphere dispelled my belief that AA is a cult, or that it was made of people who drank alone, or all day long, or in anyway that I couldn’t relate to. The room was filled with people who looked and drank like me or people I knew — for that matter there were quite a few that I did know. I thought they had died maybe? Nope — just got sober.
If something is telling you that things could be better, if you have tried to stop drinking and don’t seem to be able to, or if you are just curious — you can show up here on any given Wednesday at 8 pm. Everyone is welcome.
