After my grandfather experienced a medical emergency, he ended up in the hospital for a few days and needed some rehab. We decided to take him to Park West for what was supposed to be a five day rehab stay. That’s when the nightmare began. In all, he contracted four separate infections. While the initial infection could have been picked up at the hospital, the medical care at this place was beyond substandard. In fact, after one month of battling these infections, they released him despite tests showing he had contracted yet another infection that very day. That led to several more weeks in and out of hospitals until the rehab professionals at Providence Mount St. Vincent in West Seattle finally got him back on his feet. In addition to substandard care, Park West is dark and run-down. Every day when we came to visit, my grandfather was just lying in bed in a tiny, depressing space. Bottom line – this would be the last place I would recommend for a loved one.

Have come here a few times and I have noticed that they need to update a few things. They need to fix the doors and make them automatic for people with wheelchairs. Although they do have very caring nurses and staff, there is a lot of work they need to do to this place. There are some patients who have mental issues who they just sometimes ignore because the patient does act up all the time. Regardless of the situation people should be treated like humans. They were very nice to the mental patient but could have done a lot more to reassure her that she was safe and sound. The day staff seems to be young adults who are extremely hot. lol It’s not a horrible place, they do a great job when it comes to helping patients out to a point. But there is a lot of work that needs to be done. Oh so they could use a little bit more cleaning and some more smiles and attentiveness.
